For example, Sonic X. It has Sonic and friends in it, but it is considered non-canon... none of that stuff ever officially happened in the official Sonic storyline like events in the games (not so many of the new games though) do.

Shadow was a pseudo sequel to SA- 2 in that it more fully developed Shadow's past (in the most retarded, idiotic way possible, and the scene where maria valiantly sacrifices herself for humanity is DIFFERENT from the scene shown in SA- 2 so once again LOGIC FAIL!) if the moon exploded in SA-2 then the moon should still be exploded in Shadow, unless i missed the game where you have to repair the moon.

All of the Sonic cartoons ARE set in different universes in regards to the games. That's why half of the characters in those shows never appear in the games, only the show that they came from and sometimes in the comics, if they're lucky.
