Well gee, Im disapointed.....I was expecting something cool!. I made one of those out of a tincan and an old shoe back when I was homeless. Excesive Ions would sometimes cause sparking in some of the other homeless guys shopping carts so I remade it into an electrohydrodynamic plasma thrust device and used it to create a kinetic force field I would trap rats with for food. pretty simple stuff.
