what dont you like about the gun? and can it still fire if the magazine isnt in the gun? also i didnt notice if you have to pull the trigger to strip the gun, do you?
I'm going with a standard 3.8 because it comes with 2 high cap.mags. The size (length, height, and weight) of the 3.8 & 3.8c are DAMN close with the longer mag. and ext. in the compact model. Myself i'd want 16 rd. mags opposed to 10 rd.mags in the event something goes down... .40 S&W of course. Will have it as soon as taxes are in, I cant wait, I've been shooting my buds G21 .45 and another buds .357 mag.
@AlbinoGTEverything except the barrel is made in Croatia,the gun is originaly made in a town called Karlovac in Croatia.The barrel is made in Germany.In Croatia it is called the hs 2000. :)

I really liked the talking points and the common freaking sense facts you pointed out It was nice to finally hear a video of this gun done by someone not staggering through. I own the fullsize and now after seeing this vid I have decided to get the 3.8c thanks again for a great vid review.
I'm sure this is a quality gun, but like all XD's and XDM's this gun is over hyped. Do yourselves a favor and save $200 and buy a Ruger SR40c. Ruger's SR series has incredible value and quality. Springfield is just the new "hot thing." Don't buy the hype people!

Like your review and video quality. I almost got one. I like the looks and ergo. It could've been a sweet and ultimatum pistol if it has a metal rail inserts.
hi recently purchased the 40 subcompact and its my first pistol so im not sure but the mag feels loose and when i rack one in the chamber and i wiggle the gun left and right and i hear a noise but when i rack another one the noise stops its wierd and also thier are these scratches on the barrel i seen it on yours 2 so i guess its normal.

Hey, first good review. Basic but very detailed I'm looking to get this in the.40 this weekend when the Gun Show comes to town. One question. I've read on some forums that the XDM Compact sometimes has trouble locking it's slide when you fire the last round. Have you experienced that issue?
No I have not. I did have the 4.5 inch model and I did have that problem. I found that since the slide release is over sized, the thumb on my strong hand was putting pressure o the slide release. The pressure from my thumb was holding the slide release in place preventing it from locking it into the frame. I did a search and discovered that was my problem. I now rest my thumb on my support hand and no longer have that problem. Hope this helps.

XD = Hs 2000 is producing in Croatian factory HS produkt, XD is just name for american market, and in Croatia and Europei'ts called HS 2000.

I thought only the polymer frame was made in Croatia and the rest (slide and barrel) was made in the USA. Can anyone confirm or negate that for sure?
