well my last name is pavlov, my dad was mark pavlov and i believe members of the band were cousins of his. i remember when i was really little you guys played at the puyallup fair and i got to go on stage
I have to admit that I was unfamiliar with Papa Doo Run Run until just recently. Fantastic. The voices are as good "now", as the Beach Boys were "then". Will look around for more!
Come see us LIVE on the beach in Santa Cruz (where this video was filmed). Friday, August 20. 6:30 and 8:30 PM. Get there early for a good spot in the sand, and bring a jacket - it's gets cold at night.
Not exactly a "tribute band". We've got 10 albums out, 3 gold records, and a Grammy nomination. Plus we've all played WITH the Beach Boys. One of our guys was in the BBs for 10 years and another for 20. We don't try to act or dress like the BBs, we just do their songs. We're known for sounding like the them, but BBs songs are only about 1/3 of what we do. We also sound like Frankie Valli, the Beatles, Doobies, Creedence, and other classic rock acts. More like a tribute to the 60's.
THESE GUYS WERE AMAZING.THEY JUST PLAYED WITH THE PACIFIC SYMPHONY IN ORANGE CO. CA. LAST WEEK......FOR 3 AMAZING NITES....IAM STAGE HAND THERE....IF YOU GUYS READ THIS....THIS IS BLUE....YOU GUYS ROCK...WISH I COULD HAVE RECORDED THE PINBALL WIZARD SONG AND POSTED IT. peace out.
@54SPIKER Thanks, Blue. That was really a great gig. The symphony was fantastic, and you guys running the stage, sound, and lights did such an awesome job making us look and sound so good. We couldn't have pulled it off without you. See you next time. - Don Z.
@ROCKSTARCRANE Come see us live and you'll know. No studio audio here. We double each other on stage, plus use an eventide harmonizer - amazing machine.
I Remember These Guys and They are GREAT . I remember watching them Practice at the house on Pomroy and El Camino in Santa Clara behind SEE's Candy . That was back in 1970 something ...lol ....lol ..... The one thing as a sound guy I remember were the BIGAZZ Altec Speakers they use to carry around . They stood 8' tall x 4' deep x 4' wide and had a Big Altec Multi cell horn on them . Made me glad I had Shure Vocal Master Speakers ....LOL ...LOL...
Hello all! just going thru... damn you guys still rock! with you in Santa Cruz 04 but not for 05... I will be there this year, I promise.. i will even strike the stage if Rocky and Al can't do it! Love you all and hope to see you soon.
Back in 1989 we made a big party at one of my friend's house on the hills, based on the Papa's "California Project" Telarc CD, it was madness, the valley is still echoing!

As a SURF drummer (King Neptune & the Sea Serpents), my young kids never danced as much as those days at Disneyland. I've always loved you guys!

Thanks for the compliment. Our best kept secret... the BB's call us when they need someone to fill in in their band. - DZ, PDRR.

I can't believe it! I had to look at these guys to tell that they weren't The Beach Boys. The sound sure didn't give it away! They are really good!
