Solution #1: Engine swap 1JZ, 2JZ etc. Outcome: More balls, Reliable.
Solution #2: have the block and head shaved, go out and buy some ARP head studs, a metal headgasket, and you'll have. Outcome: bulletproof 3L inline-6 turbo.
you ppl r all rediculously goin way to far hahaha this is my car i did that cause A. i proved somone wrong bout doin it w a blown gasket B. i did a complete overhaul on it hks 2mm hg arp studs ported head new rod and main bearings etc. C. i dnt care about the car but i do take care of it still iv had it 4sale for over a year now so all u freak mk3 owners are worried about it come buy it 1500 buks tons of new stuff full trd car no leather no turbo no targa hit me up peace
thats pushing it a bit, unless he already has a full rebuild planned
i drove my mk3 on a BHG for about a year as daily driver, but not pushing it all the time and it actually never over heated on me and still ran strong, its out of commission right now, almost done the headgasket change with ARP studs @ 90 ft/lbs. lol not taking chances =) but burnout might be pushing it too much... take care of the car and it will take care of you (as in not piss you off with breaking down)
This dude is a disgrace. If you own a nice, older, supra at least know how to properly tune your car so it won't get destroyed when you want to play. I say this because I had one with 400+ Hp that I worked on myself and had the turbo boost and tuning set for road driving. I then sold the car. The new owner took it out and tried to have fun without adjusting anything and within a week he blew the motor.
I agree 1million % with you what a idiot! thats like saying hey im going to go play basketball with a broken femur bone! Dude should just give the car to someone like a kid learning how to drive or someone that has had 12 DWI's in one year! better yet just give it to someone who can take care of the car without raping it even when its down!
You do know that for the 7M-GTE (turbo) engine and 7M-GE (Not turbo) engine the spec rating for the ARP head studs model number 203-3902 is suppose to be torqued down to 90, right? Driving and doing burn outs will really trash your motors bearings and possibly warp the head and block. which involves a lot more work to fix.
it now has an hks 2.0 mm stopper style hg and arp headstuds torqued to 85lbs full 3in exhaust and a complete 2.5in hardline intercooler kit on a 33x12x3bar intercooler 470cc injectors on about 10lbs of boost it needs a piggy back system to do the maf delete and you can run 15lbs of boost if neone wants it let me know i live in momence il 60954 peace
this is my car that is the forth 7m engine in that car i didnt care at the time that the head gasket was blown obviously or i wouldnt have done this burnout the engine is now rebuilt and a 67 trim ct26 is going on it . it needs some tuning and i dont have the money 4 it so im selling the car it have alot of mods and as it sits now im asking 2500 if i put the 67trim on it ill b asking 3500 its strong no scaring was on the bearings journals on the crank pistons or cam bearings it just needs tuning
Jesus Christ kids. Here's a little unofficial information. The factory torque for the head bolts are 5Xpsi. Which is shitty for a turbo engine. When a headgasket blows, pressure from the cooling system is being leaked into the combustion chambers and getting burned. Oil and coolant is mixing due to the broken seal seperating the two jackets. Coolant in your oil will wear out your rod bearing and lead to a rod knock. Ask me how I know, I've had 4 7m engines.
lol the car died right after he did the burnout we had to push start it cuz the starter was out at the time after the video he took it apart and replaced the gasket and has arp studs now
Uhmm... a blow head gasket just means that one or more of the oil channels or water channels are broken. This means water is getting into the cylinder... If you refill the water the car will run. Its a bad idea though, but it works... If my supra ever had a BHG I would probably stop making burnouts though...
@savagedk as if you didn't refill the water and it wouldn't run? get real, some kids like to make excuses and such, probly like the people who comment on youtube
@smd4life I am not sure what you mean by this comment. But if a car runs out of water, wether the radiator is broken or the water dissipates someplace else, it will heat up the block rapidly if you do not add new water to cool it. If for instance caught on highway and your running low on water, its probably best to top it off instead of just driving on... I stated that doing this is a bad idea, for obvious reasons, if BHG, turn engine of. The oil and water will create a brownish slush not layers

@savagedk not always. to correct you slightly, a head gasket can blow between cylinders making no compression on 1 or 2(or more) cylinders, it doesnt have to blow into the water or oil. i have had a head gasket on my car that blew straight out the side into the air(side of head missing the water oil ways, even missed the cylinders) bcos the head bolt snapped
Blown head gasket lets antifreeze in the engine where the oil is. Radiator can not do its job. The car warms up and does not stop and just overheats, which can damage all sorts of things.
Lets just hope that he started the car, did the powerbrake and turned it right off.
@VampAro600 Once in a while, you'll get lucky with a blown head gasket and pop it between the cylinder wall and water jacket, saving the oil (oil + water is bad for bearings in the bottom end). But of course it will overheat faster due to it dumping water into a cylinder and burning it off. Most of the time you can get away with dumping some head gasket sealer in the water and following its instructions to temporarily fix it though. But not if you'd be driving it like this.
@VampAro600 if water get in the oil, the water is heavier than the oil, the oil pump picks up the water and throughs it to the bearings and everywhere else, if water gets in the cylinder, your fucked

Revving an engine when water can enter into it, can destroy your pistons.
Water if the temperatures rise up to a certain value, can burn.
Look at this, for example: lusardim.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30113&whichpage=2

It's a case of over heating and hydrolock - two things that'll kill it from a blowing/fucked head gasket
