  • GLADYS IS DIAMAND OF WORLD.

  • GLADYS IS NICE LOVE OF RUSSIA.

  • I would give my right arm (not my left, because I need it to write lol) for today's Grammy Awards to be as epic as this. Videos presenting the nominees?? pshh. the presenters SINGING them instead. love it. That would be a major flop for most of today's so-called singers if they attempted to do the same. In my opinion, Gladys should've been awarded with her own special Grammy just simply based on the fact that she sang that nomination medley so exceptionally.

  • This is absolutely amazing.

  • wow, what a performance and they were only presenting.

  • uh, Wow

  • She has a timeless voice it never gets old

  • They looked nervous as hell that she was blowing them ALL out the water!

  • I remember watching this the night it was broadcast! When they did Feelings, I nearly screamed! Just so damned superb!

  • 2010 Best Female Vocalist nominees at the Grammys were Sara Bareilles, Beyonce, Norah Jones, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. I'd like to see ANY of them pull off something like that. It would be laughable. Even Beyonce would pale in comparison to Gladys.

  • @mattimattiusa I have to agree...what talent Gladys has ...sadly this group out here today is mostly "smoke and mirrors" and very little talent.

  • WOW!! What a flawless voice Gladys had. She could make anything sound good. I think the original artists of those songs felt a bit small after that performance; she kinda showed them up.

  • That was amazing

  • totally marvellous! i wonder did gladys record her definiteive version before this or after?!?

  • I remember watching this with my dad and we were both crying!

  • Her singing You and Me Against the World.. i can't find a word to say how amazing that was...

  • You don't get grammy awards like this any more do you?

  • @SinclairisCool Cause people don't sing like that anymore.

  • @jirt87

    HA! too true

  • Simply Fabulous !!!!!!!

  • Gladys can sing anything and make it sound good, the Empress of Soul!

  • She is so beautiful when she sings! WOW! and glamorous and classy. I love this clip. I love the way she smiles and her eyes are engaged, it looks like she is loving the experience and it makes me understand the story; and I feel it too!

  • @rlbanks6 Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • GLADYS kNIGHT IS GREAT NO MATTER what she sings

  • great job on the videos.

  • Aretha also sang on this show Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing, but it was Gladys who everybody out the water with this medley, songs of the year.

  • @higgybaby1 It isn't a competition.

  • @TheQueenAretha Didn't say it was.

  • gigantic

  • @streetliferz Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • Gladys Knight is soooo awesome,i hope the young'ns are seeing this! Gladys Knight is 1 of the top soulful female vocalist of of all time! Aretha , Minnie,Chaka,Gladys,Pattie, The Pointer Sisters,The Emotions, & The Mary Jane Girls. There are a few more, but borrowing from my idol (Rick James),"Stevie Wonder" is my other idol, these female vocalist are The Throwdown Sistas!

  • @mrinnervisionz Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • This performance was so good, Buddah jumped on the chance to record You and Me Against the World, Feel Like Making Love, for the 2nd Anniversary lp, the Way We Were was on it's way on the charts shortly after this taping from the I Feel A Song lp.

  • love love love this clip...can't wait to see you on friday night!

  • love this moment in time of the greatest female singer of all

  • @motownismagic Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • They shouldn't have cut Marvin of! He was probably going to thank Gladys for releasing such a wonderful version herself in 1974.

  • Actually, he did. When he did a special a few years ago called "They're Playing My Song" he asked Gladys to perform. That's why they were so elated that it won, because it was on the charts during this taping.

  • thanks 4 posting! sum1 posted a shorter version a few years back and it was taken down not long after, Flawless? Yes! should be done every year? Hell yes! BUT the trouble is they don't make music like that no more! and when they do,they dont award them. Those bloody "They's" Us bloody "They's" actually

  • what a voice!!!!

  • Indeed!! Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • Wonderful. I broke out into applause while sitting at my computer. 1975 had some incredible songs, too.

  • I really think they should have Gladys Knight do these every year; It's wonderful!

  • I agree.

  • Very, Very Cool! thanks a bunch!

  • You are welcome.

  • You can't help but think all the songwriters are saying "Why the fuck didn't we get her to sing them in the first place". Flawless, as always....

  • @peppeand

    YES THEY'RE FACES ARE PRICELESS!

  • Their footage helps me appreciate them even more.

    Thanks.

  • Gene McDaniels sang tower of strength and point of return

  • wonderful

  • Thanks for viewing and commenting.

  • very good, muito bom eu gostei

  • Gladys pode cantar algo bem.

  • If possible, Gladys sings The Way We Were better than Barbara.

  • Gladys recorded "The Way Were" live in the 70's and it went gold and to #11 in the country. Her version is far more soulful than Streisand's. It also contains a spoken intro, and Gladys is a master storyteller.

  • I wouldn't necessarily say Gladys sings it better BETTER, than Striesand, just differently. Now as far as "You and Me Against the World", no doubt Gladys sings it waaaay better than Helen Reddy.

  • check out you tube:

    forever by Dan Bowskill

  • They were. Notice how Bubba, Gladys' older brother, beams with pride at his Li'l Sis.

  • i dont see them doing this anymore. why not?

Gladys is amazing. I have seen noone today meet that greatness or even comparable.

  • Gladys sounds as good today as she did during this presentation. Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • god! gladys was/is lovely....

  • Gladys is so under appreciated. I love her voice because she sounds like no one else. The moment you hear that voice, you know exactly who it is.

  • Her voice is unique. But believe me, the world knows and appreciates The Empress of Soul. Hey, thanks for viewing and commenting.

  • What a Triumph! better than Barry LOL

  • That was the coolest presentation of an award ever! I feel bad for that poor guy getting cut off during his speech at the end, but man once that music starts your finished! :-p

  • Gladys can truly sing anything.

  • This was during their reign at the top, they were everywhere. NOBODY can do it like Empress Gladys. Check out how the Pips stuck their chests out at the end like: That's our girl, yall better reconize!!

    AWESOME!! Especially big brother Bubba!!!

  • What singer today gan do that?

  • This is great, wathced a hundred times, but could someone tell me what is the second song, before Midnight At The Oasis?
