  • Raul que envidia

  • Yeah, you guys were sure lucky you didn't get disembowelled. "Get your camera" , pfft, more like "Get your chainmail"

  • Shy jungle bird my arse xD

  • imagine if cassowarys could fly

  • lol jump into sea xD

  • You camera has poor HDR.

  • The camera man has Parkinson's disease.

  • LOL I REMEMBER LOONEY TUNES ALIENS BIRDS

  • I am scared just watching this video, see those great big feet? they are only used for two things, digging holes in the forest floor and tearing shit out of anything or anybody it wants to.

  • This is a cassowary. It it

  • Description says very curious animal. That's probably not why it was following you. It was prlly trying to kill u.

  • You guys were so fucking stupid. These things can fucking kill you.

  • @pear928 what would you have done, if one appears from out of nowhere? you've seen one?

  • @raulposse Just for next time - walk away.

  • You were lucky - These things can rip your throat open and have done it too. Your obviously not familiar with the Cassowary?

  • damn if i saw like this in the wild i'll run..

  • Hey look a feathered veloca raptor I know let's get within kicking distance

  • You stupid people! RUN!

  • @samisyosam if you run, it gets you!

  • @samisyosam You can't outrun them. They run about 30 mph. Plus, if you retreat, that makes them think they have an edge over you.

  • Those people are fucking NUTS!! These birds are one of the most dangerous animals in the World! where a bunch of idiots entertaining the idea of taunting it!

They have been known to disembowel humans! Some people!

  • wow!! amazing and scary all at once

  • IT"S A SNIPE!

  • Looks a alot taller than I thought like an Ostrich. I would shit my pants and jumped in the ocean

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like raptors got nerfed in the new Jurassic Park update.

  • omg, my hands sweat

  • just goes to show, everyone loves a day at the shoreline

  • The guy who talked was a little... stupid. The user "raulposse" did the right thing staying calm and waiting the Cassowary to leave.

  • I love how someone said that he should have just turned away and left.Well, cassowary would take that as an advantage and probably would kill you brutally.

  • @DJUnionX I doubt it. The bird would have no reason to attack because of something as nonthreatening as a human turning and moving away, and therefore probably wouldn't. Still, I wouldn't turn my fucking back on it, no way. Guy in the video did the right thing imo by staying calm and observant.

  • when that bastard bird attacks you, you wouldn't be saying 'its fucking beautiful"

  • your lucky no one got hurt or even killed.

  • You people are going way overboard with the deadly cassowary thing.

Yes, they are aggressive and are capable of inflicting serious injury.

    But so are geese.

Give them their space and you'll be fine.

  • @KyleBlues1 these fellas kill humans, dont believe me? come to my lovely country and go hug one. I sur as heck would wanna stay in a crock infested river than be with one of these. Oh and dont bother running.. they can reach up to 50km speeds.

  • @KyleBlues1

Actually these birds are very shy. If you leave them alone they will leave you alone.

  • @grumpy165 They are shy until you get within 7 feet of THEIR space, and then they'll get VERY pissed off.

VERY territorial animals. Big time! The way it stalked was creepy as hell! LOL I believe it was a female, they're more calm than the SAVAGE males..lol

Man these knobs were lucky..that bird could have killed all of those guys in 5 minutes.

  • its like something from Dr. Seuss!

  • beatiful animal, nice shot!

  • Raul must look tasty!

  • why everytime i see a cassowary vid. its mostly in the beach??why?

  • @Jervinzman its in QLD where the beach meets the rain forest, these fellas live in rain forests.

  • That's like being in a real jurassic park scene.

  • im pretty sure that animal wouldn't be able to swim, might of been good to run for the water. But thats just me.

  • @sunslap Cassowaries are incredibly well swimmers and can cross rivers

  • I wanted this video to end with him getting eaten by something in the sea.

  • it just wanted a back rub

  • look at the big chicken coming out of the woods

  • remember it has sharp claws and will ussualy kick for the head chest or ... groin so yea not a fun bird to play with but still beutiful

  • That thing could K.O those guys from the navy

  • amazing footage, & that guy was very, very calm..well done.

    BEAUTIFUL animal.

  • A Great White Shark is a pussycat, compared to these feathered fiends.

Lucky everyone's intestines were still in tact.

  • From what I have read about them, he is very lucky this bird didn't mess him up bad. Your not supposed to turn away from them or run so that was smart. But he sure should have moved a whole lot faster to get away from it. If he knew about this bird and did this he is a real moron. 1 swipe and he could have lost half his face.

  • Birds ARE dinosaurs - no doube about it ;-)

  • @Bjowolf2

    doubt! - BEEEP!

  • i say, put that fucker on the barbie, see if he's dangerous then.

  • Haha! You are pretty brave or should i say good at controlling your fear :) Amazing animal. Nice vid, thanks!

  • You guys just approached a modern day velociraptor. Either it was incredibly ballsy, or just plain ignorantly suicidal.

  • silly poms lucky that bird didn't shank you to death with its talons

  • hmm before few minutes I didn't even know that these birds exist and I read a jurnal in the news about these birds and I thougt it's some comedy or something xD but now as I see it it really looks pretty dangerous! How can he kill? With his claws or that hat on his head xD? Anyways - very nice video man!

  • @loveSc7 It can rip your stomach out with its claws

  • wow amazing, you guys are lucky! these cassowaries are the most dangerouse birds in the world, you could have gotten your guts torn apart!

  • Great video but please don't make any sequels. You might not be so lucky next time.

  • The whole reason the cassowary was going after your friend was because he was wearing the same colors AS the cassowary. The bird is looking at your friend as a potential threat to his territory and a bigger male. So he's challenging him. I am very happy that you all were safe though.

  • where was this?

  • yeah, i just don't get creationist.

also: this is the scariest video, man. it's like Jurassic park up in there!

  • You were so lucky ! An unbleivable experince I bet but this Cassowary could have near killed you, amazing animals, I think you did the right thing but still could have grouped up as soon as you saw it.

  • @NewkyMetal incredible! before the footage began, the cassowary was chasing me at least another minute, and we were in a group just laying on the beach, and for some reason it was interested in me... i seriously coudnt do anything else but walk slowly expecting the worse... unbelievable encounter, i try to think back how things develop, and i cant remember...

  • @raulposse The blue t-shirt with a red stripe and dark shorts you were wearing closely match the colouring of the cassowary (blue neck skin, red wattle, dark body feathers). It no doubt thought you were a rival or a potential mate - either scenario could have ended messily...

  • wow ur retarded

  • @mackyyoyoyo says the stupid fuck who's too lazy to type "you're"

  • @AkatsukiPR0 is tht the only comeback u have. o no i wrote "ur" instead of "you're" on the internet. sry tht i actually have a life and don't spend all day making a comment for a retarded video.

  • @mackyyoyoyo Just saying, if you're going to call someone stupid, it would probably be a good idea to make it look like you can cut your own meat.

  • @AkatsukiPR0 wow u just don't get it. if i was calling some retarded for spelling something wrong then i would be in the wrong, but i wasn't... just because i its easier to write "ur" than "you're" doesn't mean i cant call someone stupid when they're clearly clueless tht if the cassowary got pissed or scared it could rip their hearts out

  • This proves how curious an animal can be, like a human:) This bird has no idea how dangerous a human can be... simply fantastic footage!

  • @amax7895 This proves how you don't have a fuckin idea how dangerous a cassowary can be. This bird would tear apart that guy in second. Seriously, it's like you would say, oh look, that t-rex is so curious and doesn't afraid at all ! ;)

  • @nor94 Does it matter anymore? It didn't kill or hurt anyone.

  • a wild cassowary appears... pokeball goooo

  • Hmm I live in Victoria but I wonder what would happen if you kick one in the head... Dinosaurs.

  • Cassowaries and corythosaurus look very much alike.

  • Dude your very lucky. Cassowary's are very dangerous animals and could easily kill you. They've been even known to kill Dogs.

  • Cassowaries are dangerous and they know it. This bird was clearly bullying y'all. Lol. He's like: "I can make these fuckers walk into the ocean, check it out"

  • wtf! it is normal to find cassuwaries on the beach in aus?

  • i see a cassowary at least once a week, they dont just come up and kill u, iv been reading past comments and laughed at what people have been saying about them

  • Some fantastic & mature wildlife video shooting, this one.. I was waiting to see if he would run or make fast actions.. lucky both did not happen. Close encounter, indeed

  • I would shit my pants if a casso walked up to me like that

  • wild cassowary appears. cassowary uses bullying. its suppereffective.

  • i think i would pass out knowing that one kick of that thing and i'd be dead

  • I like the guy is turning his side to the bird lol

  • one needs plate armor and a shield for these

  • When it raised its foot and dropped its head at 0:48 I just knew that dude was coleslaw!

    Close encounter!

  • amazing

  • Never run away, once you run you become the pray. These people did the right thing, the guy backing up was backing up a little to fast though, very lucky and very good footage.

  • One swipe can instantly disembowel a human. Not to be fucked with. But its a good thing no one overreacted. Beautiful footage guys!

  • You guys were very lucky! Lucky in a sense that no one was injured and you got to see a wild one so up close. The coloration is gorgeous!

  • if he ran he would be dead.

  • Wow - that's an awesome experience. Those birds are beautiful and deadly. It's a good thing you guys knew not to run because then you would have had a BIG problem. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Is this bird only found in australia? and is it endangered?

  • All this scarmongering about these birds is unbelievable. Just get behind it pick it up and give it a cuddle, it will run a mile!!!

  • @simoncuming41 are you fucking crazy?

  • I think its a pretty birdy :D. However I wouldn't wanna get near thought, I heard it can dissembowel a person with a single kick

  • i would have fuckin shat myself, those things can disenbowel humans

  • bird that can kill you

  • your lucky that thing didnt slice your guts out

  • if that wus me i wulda literally shit my pants

  • it's not curious. It just doesn't give a fuck.

  • holy crap that looks dangerous. i'd rather have seen a small dinosaur in place of a cassoway.

  • unreal. apparently they have a desire to get disemboweled.

  • A wild pidgeot appeared!

  • that must have been cool to see... good thing it wasn't aggressive

  • aah the suspense...luckily it didn't go amok at the end

  • you guys are stupid

  • @lifeinyukon1 yeah, backing away slowly and calmly from something that will disambowel you is stupid, dumbass

  • @starletdempsy no body is playing... if you are at the beach and a creature like this appears right behind you, if you try to run away it will get you, we all tried to stay calm... it eventually left quite calmly, no harassment towards the bird, and no injuries... thats why we all left unharmed, not even the bird...

  • @raulposse Only because it wasn't hungry. Otherwise, nobody is safe. Nobody. *fear cringe*

  • @Arrowatch they only fruit, and only attack when there's a threat to them

  • @raulposse wow you guys were lucky not to get attacked by the Cassowary

  • @raulposse good thing you got out alive! this is a great video, i understand your fear. if i encounter something that can and might kick my guts out, i'd back away slowly two

  • @starletdempsy

Ok, you're ignorant. Wtf does this have to do with them being white?

  • @thebigbanov

Who is the majority of people who swim with sharks, sleeps with wolves, have sex and own animals that may hurt them? I'm just curious on why I see more whites doing crazy things like that then anyone. Its fasinating to me. There has got to be a scientific reason for this matter. Can you explain.....

  • @shrineheart87

Because you make a special note whenever you see/hear of a white person doing this? How am I supposed to know? You're the one making the totally arbitrary connection. Also I've never been to Australia but AFAIK, the vast majority of the population there are caucasian. I'm assuming you know what math is, whether or not you've ever used it.

  • @starletdempsy ... Because it's Australia, where nature keeps all the scary shit locked away on a land girt by sea.

  • @starletdempsy And what do you see happening in the video? People acting calmly, responsibly and with full respect towards a very dangerous creature that approached THEM, not the other way round. Now take your foot out of your mouth, you look ridiculous.

  • @MoogieSRO After doing many research over this animal and people, I came to an conclusion that the cassowary bird is a extremely territorial creature. There are many territorial animals in the world, but this creature is on the aggressive bully side. Meaning after you cross them , they still will come after you. They can be mean but are a beauty to observe (just at a far distance). Sorry I said white people because obviously the bird was the fault not the people. God bless and have a good week.

  • @starletdempsy That was very mature of you to admit the mistake and I'm so glad to hear that you took the extra time to research and understand what was being shown here. Much respect to you, friend! :)

  • @starletdempsy Well if you keep typing "white person gets killed by animal" you tend to get white people being killed by animals. Done and done. You have been pwned.

  • @starletdempsy you dont wanna turn ur back on those. :D

  • And people wonder why tourists get injured here....

  • scary

  • TenStarsplus !!! What a beautiful video!!! It's a good thing we don't have them up here in the USA because I think there would be a lot of human fatalities because people would try to confront them!!! Thank you so much for sharing this video!!!! This is one Yank who would have enough sense not to molest that beautiful but dangerous bird!!!!!

  • Cassowaries make extremely good house pets.

  • @MattBaumann777 i doubt it. this was on yahoo's list of 16 cute animals that can kill you. their talons can disembowel someone.

  • its sooo cute

  • @000bela000 but deadly

  • Wild CASSOWARY appeared! "Wild CASSOWARY used agility" "Wild CASSOWARY used MEGA KICK!" "It's Super-Effective!"

  • @mmmmmarcus if I could love a comment, yours would be the only one I'd love

  • @mmmmmarcus also, I can hear the music in my head... now its stuck there... damn why did I play soo much pokemon

  • And I live in mission beach where just about every thing is here.

  • With that guys hair and his color of his shirt I think it wanted to mate with him.

  • that guy was pretty smart.... if it was me I would have freaked out and took off running like a mad man

  • velociraptor :-)))))

  • Dude no... there is no way you will win a hand-to-hand fight with a cassowary that size.

  • i dont know if the guy in this is aussie or pommy but he handle this situation very very well. so many ppl scare the bird and end up gettin into all sorts of a barney

  • I'm no expert on cassowaries but I'll bet that the bird was responding to the red triangle and blue background on that one guys shorts, and seeing it as territorial competition. Its a good thing that the shorts were below the eye level of the bird at all times (that it, good job it wans't a shirt like that) and they did things like step backwards slowly, because that bird definitely looked like it was deciding wheather to make an agressive move.

  • Why are people allowed to be there if such a dangerous and territorial bird is there?

  • They are no more deadly than our snakes or crocs or sharks or spiders.

We cant be running scared from deadly animals here, because if we did that, then there would be no-where in Australia that we can go. So we have to just face things like this in Australia.

  • I hear just about every thing in Australia can kill in some way or other. Snakes, spiders, tiny venomous octopuses, deadly jellyfishes and giant hungry lizards and flightless angry Dinosaur birds. I still want to go visit someday.

  • They may be beautiful, but they're also highly aggressive, territorial, and short-tempered, right?

Maybe they just caught the bird in a good mood or something?

  • how can you think they are beatiful!! theyre claws can disimbowel you within seconds! EVIL!

  • Not evil. Its how it has evolved son.

  • i love these birds... they are so beautiful!

  • RAZORSHARP CLAWS

  • I would be scared shitless!!! Those birds are such lunatics!!!

  • Apparently people say that the way you deal with a Cassowary encounter is you lift your arms in the air to look larger and back away from it. Whatever. I'm just jealous of you guys!

  • You are lucky no one startled it or it would have torn a big hole in your guts.

Only one little fright and it would have turned from a big chicken into the Freddy Kruger bird style

  • While I say the bloke probably should backed off a tad quicker, he made the right decision in not turning his back to it.

    Worst thing you could do.

Devlishly smart buggers they are, they'll take that opportunity if you're in their territory... which they rarely leave in the first place.

  • This is such a great video.

Every second I was sure the outcome would turn tragic, but everyone remained calm and so did the bird.

No other vidoe shows the beauty of these birds so well.

    thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for your comment, I agree, very beautiful last shot... It was really frightening, I could hear my heart on my throat beating hard, in the moment I said "this is the scariest moment I've had" which is when the bird reacted and turned around, I was laughing but I was really nervous but in awe at the same time... I guess that he/she was curious, just browsing not feeling threatened... thanks for your link ;)

  • You're lucky for it to be so calm and trusting AND close to you. They very quickly turn into one of the most violent animals on the planet.

  • From what I hear those birds can inflict some nasty injuries.

  • OMG you are lucky to be unharmed, its a good thing noone freaked out and scared it.

  • cool bird!! : D

  • its a velociraptor! lol!

  • Watching those guys makes you think and wonder if this is what the theropod dinosaurs would have moved like- I look at their feet moving and I think 'watching a dromaeosaurid would have been very similar...but far more frightening in person'. Seriously... were that one of it's ancient ancestors...something tells me people would be RUNNING, not backing way lol serrated teeth and clawed hands and feet tend to have that effect.

  • Austrailia is relativly isolated, anythings possible

  • Thats really dangerous ur lucky it didnt rip your stomachs open...

  • that's one serious bird dude. they'll slice your throat with one kick JEEZ thx for the vi

  • It´s huge, tall like a teenager!

  • I wonder why It wasn't attacking.. if it did that guy would have been done

  • Awesome!

  • that bird is the most dangerous bird in the world btw it killed two people at oncew befor

  • thay are beutyfull arnt thay.

  • I've been there but didnt see a cassowary. Managed to see one near mission beach which was scary but wasnt quite as close as you guys!

  • gimme dem bird tits

  • God had a sense of humor when he created rattites...

  • Samefaggotry 'round here.

  • buz who is a faggot?

  • Bad language
