Piranhas are EXTREMELY timid fish. Even in schools of 200+.
I had some several years ago... Couldn't get them from behind the plants unless you starve them a week or two. Fish tank light on after it's been dark, forget about even seeing them for the rest of the night.
When they bred, I had roughly 30 that lived, and grew them somewhat quickly, only then, would they hunt a gold fish in front of me on a daily feeding. Even then - lame.
