  • Lol loved the video but this is offensive how do they dare to compare the great chimps with those disgusting humans.

  • 0:10 - 0:39 is how I look trying to do a fitness class...with emphasis on the flying dragon kick @ 0:36

  • BUT DID U SEE THE DANCING GORILA?

  • Fun fact: Dolphins and Elephants also are self-aware.

  • my dog ignores her reflection, but she reacts to dogs on TV. Wouldn't that mean she understands her reflection?

  • I find this test offensive to orangutans everywhere.

  • Humans have too high of a self esteem, fuck civilization.

  • an ape ripped someones face off, plus they throw their shit, stick thier finger in their ass and sniff it, drink their own piss and suck their own dick...sounds like some thing' s some people would do, i'll stick with a dog or cat.

  • amazing

  • yo mamma.

  • that's some kung-fu!!!

  • 1:40

    SPIDER BABY!

  • I've always wondered who was looking at me while I brushed my teeth.

  • The first part of this video has to be the CUTEST EXPERIMENT EVER

  • 0:54 he sees

  • Oh my gosh! This was amazing!!!

  • Apes look pretty bad ass!

  • so many people came here from the vsauce playlist

  • 0:39 mommy that thing is scary!!!

  • 0:41 mummmmyyy...he's copying me...

  • You probably thought that chimp was real... NOPE. Chuck Testa

  • Oh nvmon the other comment

  • 0:13 Weird hole in the mirror?

  • @TehNUB81 its the reflection of a hole on the plastic wall separating the chimp from the humans

  • @TehNUB81 the hole isn't in the mirror, the crew is filming through a fiberglass window, which is where the hole is. It's probably to give items to the chimps.

  • I want a monkey!

  • 0:17 - ever wonder what goosebumps are for?

  • @sinephase For humans it makes the hair stand up therefore trapping warm air and keeping warm.

  • Give them a goofy mirror. Maximum trolling.

  • 16 people didn't look in the mirror yet

    !

  • that rock at 1:45 looks like the SyFy Logo.lol

  • my cat even knows its own reflection...

  • @arthurullrich How do you know he doesn't think it's another cat? I don't think cats can recognize themselves in the mirror.

  • @ETEntertainmentToday at first he thought it was another cat, but then like two minutes later after it could mimick all his movements he got that it was him. also, there are not many cats of his complexion, and hes seen how other cats behave.

  • That oranatang looks fake :|

  • 1:01 lol apes do the duck face too XD

  • THE MIND

  • haha he said erect

  • that was cute as hell

  • random dude at 0:49? hahah

  • What was that guy at 0:49 oO?

  • This is so CUTE!

  • 0:48

Why is there a guy playing with his hair?

  • that kid chimp was so cute. i'd probably prefer having its company than a human brat.

  • @madorao Right until it gets angry and tears your face off...

  • @EsplodingBomb I hope you don't like dogs because dogs have ripped people up more often than chimps have.

  • @madorao you do know there was a lady that got her face riped of by a chimp just saying

  • @kross103 well, there have been ladies who have been shot at by kids too. accidents happen. Even a few dogs have killed their owners. One should know how to handle animals.

  • @madorao until he rips your eyes out of your eye-sockets because you told him to behave, or didn't give him his candy.

  • @TheTramsen you definitely need to understand chimp behavior before dealing with them. But if chimps rip eyes out of eye-sockets then you'd probably have quite a few blind chimps by now.

  • @madorao I agree %100

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG they look like humans too much!!!!

  • PAHAHAHA!! 2:12 WHAT THE HECK IS THAT ON MY FO-HEAD?!?! lolol!!!

  • Damn, monkeys are so fucking stupid, reminds me of myself

  • Here's a simple reason why humans can learn to recognize their reflection:

When someone speaks, you learn how their mouth moves by matching mouth movements to sounds of words. So, you develop that good enough to the point where you can look at a mirror, say something, and see the reflection of your mouth. Also, you're unable to hear the sound of your reflection.

  • I like chimps better than human toddlers.

  • I did this at home with my cat! Also VSAUCE PWNS YOU ALL!

  • 0:49 wha?

  • Hehe... Erect fur

  • I know elephants have passed this awareness test also. I want to say I've seen dolphins pass as well but I'm not 100%.

  • That researcher has a hijab on .,,, WAY TO GO ISLAM :)) ALLAH AKBAR

  • @SYamooraSY what the hell are you talking about. where did islam and hijab come into the picture here. get out of your religious delusion.

  • Comment removed

  • Bonobo chimps?

  • That's amazing!

  • There is actually a part of the brain that recognises how light works and this part aids in the recognition of yourself, there is also a disease that causes this part to stop working, and so when you look into a mirror you don't recognise your self and you treat the mirror as if it was a window with a stranger standing behind it.

  • This is so interesting. I love science.

  • I can't even imagine not being able to recognise myself in a mirror.

  • I heard on the radio about researchers doing something similar with dolphins. They were also aware. Amazing.

  • o_O or maybe the fact that the mirrored self moves exactly the same as itself...

  • wholey shitt!!

  • apes look pretty scary.

  • @RedSkyNord 'cept the babies

  • @RedSkyNord Humans are the scariest apes.

  • guy at 1:00 looks like a chimp

  • Orangutans are scary. Anyone read Murders in the Rue Morgue?

  • why does that child have a mullet

  • sometimes when i look in the mirror i cant recognize myself anymore

  • ohh my god i want a pet monkey now. :)

  • now i totaly saw a gorilla!!

  • Orangutang's mind= blown

  • THE MIND

  • I continue to fail the mark test.... fml :(

  • I wonder if animals can differentiate between mind and body.

  • She was so shattered over that mark being there.

  • I is greatly learning much very wheeee grammar for bad. :P

  • Who is this ass in my mirror doing what I am doing?

  • why is there a boy fixing his hair?

  • CEASARRR!

  • Vsauce !

  • Thats amazing.

  • @spiderboy963 i am not an atheist, sir, but i do think that humans and apes are related. If you are true to your belief, then you will accept that man is an animal. An animal with gods blessing, but an animal nontheless. God made ALL creatures, and they were made to his exact specifications. So obviously, god made primates like apes and chimps AND HUMANS to be brothers among all other creatures.

  • I just shat some serious mind-bricks

  • What abour Gorillas?! xD

  • what FUCKING GORILLA!?

  • I remember when i first got my dog and she looked into the mirror and thought it was her sister and kept barking at it.

  • I'm going to do this to my kid, just to see what happens.

  • And that's where Curious George came from

  • moves like mic jager

  • vsauce army

  • So it begins... Planet of the apes!

  • humanaty is fuckt

  • When my dog was little he looked in the mirror and though it was another dog. He went around the wall and saw there wasn't a dog. Now he knows it's himself.

  • 2:22

  • Heh spot the comment thats not on the playlist :D

  • 2:00 ME GUSTA

  • @DrSulfurious what time does the narwhale bacon.

  • But did you see the guy fixing his hair....

  • Here comes the "Here come the Vsauce Army" comments :L

  • because half of all children tested probably see a mirror on a daily basis...

  • Wtf is my family doing on youtube ?

  • @wildesentertainment Please, don't tell me you are a black guy? Self rascism makes me confused.

  • orangutans creep the bajeebers outa me

  • do you read top comments before watching the video too?

  • apes, are not our cousins

  • @Spiderboy963 I hate to admit it, but technically they are...

  • @Nadeeja94 ummm, no

  • @Spiderboy963 you obviously have never been to a redneck family reunion

  • @Menuki sir, no I have not. God made man above the animals, he did not make him an animal

  • But it's not invisible!...

  • Fascinating.

  • 1:00 What kind of chipanzee is that?

  • @itzWiLLiaM human

  • caesar is home

  • Funny how humans can identify half of the time when they are two. The chimp at the start could do it at 3 months.

  • I was the other half.

  • I once showed my cat himself on the screen using a webcam. To my surprise he went looking behind my laptop to see if that other cat was really there. He didn't seem too surprised when he found out it wasn't, he just sat back on my lap and ignored everything on the screen.

I also sometimes make him move towards a mirror. He always starts touching the mirror even though we aren't that close yet. Would this mean he knows the mirror is a solid object, which he can't fall through?

  • 0:40 hhh

  • apes are the most interesting animals to look at.

  • yes but did you see the blonde dude fixing his hair 0:50 ?

  • BABY MULLET!

  • really? no curious george comments?

  • did anyone see the random blonde dude fixing his hair.?

  • i use to find the gorilla , but then i took an arrow to the knee !!!

  • Aww all the apes on this video are cute. :3

  • soooo cute...love it...

  • yeey those children are so cute D:D:

  • i want to rip that kids mullet off

  • 2.26 HEY OPRAH WINFREY

  • and so the Plant of the apes starts!

  • awww its so cute!

  • @Alaznel That is exactly what I said!! hahaha She looks so puzzled!!

  • But did you see the gorilla?

  • I've seen this documentary. It's really fascinating.

  • VSAUSE

  • Thats a chimpanzee dipshits... not a gorilla and stop it with the "where is that gorilla?"comments... so annoying God damn.

  • @RandomTroII Where is that Gorilla?

  • For comparison: Cats or dogs don't recognize themselves in a mirror, surprisingly crows do.

  • @Czeckie elephants as well, though you can teach a dog to recognize himself, by holding him in the mirror it will eventually learn that because you are holding him, and in the mirror you are holding something as well, that he must be that thing. But a dog will never understand it by himself.

  • I don't think this test is accurate... 'cause it can also do with feeling... I know if someone put paste on my face I'm gonna be touchin' it too like "GET THIS SHIT OFF MY FACE" :]

  • @MattiAlwaysHappy But then why did they touched it when they're in the mirror and not before?

  • Gorilla is at 0:50

  • yes yes but did you see the human?

  • Where is the gorilla!?! I can't see it!

  • this was too fucking cute!!

  • lol i really tried to find the gorilla but i couldn't find him

  • I'm betting octopi can past this test, easily.

  • insert generic gorilla caption here

  • I bet those who watches this thinks "WTF IS "THE MIND"

  • fuck... i missed the gorilla again

  • this reminded me of rise of the planet of the apes

  • @kulkid40 What a shower of shite that film was
