busy airport, 1 runway, dangerous landing, next to a mountain not enough space many b747 jumbos land here cathay has a lot of 747s

@aznturtle1 plus not for ILS landing mean no anto land for any airplane so if a fog is thick the airplane will have to land on other airport or cancel the flight

why the distance so less while taking off? will the plane run on low power if the plane take off in a low speed?

Your question don't even makes sense. LOL. The plane doesn't do any charging of power or any sort. How fast the plane takes off depends on the weight of the plane on take off, and how much thrusts the pilot decides to put into those engines and some other minor factors.

And you need to note that the plane starts take off before the displaced threshold. MUCH further back than the spot where planes land.

And the 747 is about 70m long. You can roughly gauge the distance it took to take off. It isn't exactly short. Definitely comparable with the distance a similar 747 would used to land
