looked all over the place.... cant find this version of this song to download.... i dont like the other version.... the other songs from this album are available... y not this??
The song gives off more raw emotion than it does on Fables. Is his voice perfect? No,(though it's not cracking), but in my mind, it exudes a sense of urgency that the Fables version doesn't have.Plus, I generally like the production better on IFS than on Fables. It's less polished, but I think that's the point It gives the perception of flawed beauty which is what I think this style of music needs. . IFS seems to form a narrative while Fables is a collection of songs. I dunno...Just my opinion.
i like this version over all better, but i love in fables the part where he just throws his voice over and over. Both versions have their pluses. AMAZING SONG
Now that I listen to it about every day, it seems like their best. The fables version is not just as good to me anymore. Also, I've always loved this version, it's just it was one of their "Worse songs" as in better than most bands. There's not a single FTM song that is bad.
where are you guys??? heard you once on the radio years ago.....still love this album. I remember you guys from battle of the bands at the Hard Rock, I was working for Can of Jam production.
worse song? NO Way, i've always loved this song. imo, top underrated song (if you can say they only have one) and this version and cd as a whole is best
This is awesome. I like every song on this album and Fables, but I think some are better on this, while others are on Fables. This song, Upgrade Brigade, Walls Of Jericho, & A Seafarer's Knot are better on I.F.S in my opinion, but DOTM & Kyla Cries Cologne sound better on Fables.
I have to disagree. I think the FAbles Version is much better. More streamlined. I think they did a gud job with Fable deciding which songs could be improved and which couldn't. With the exception of Seafarers which sucked on Fables I think all the IFS songs improved. And they left all the other songs that couldnt be improved alone thank god. a redon Granny Niblo, Quince or Timbuktu. i don think so. Orphan anthem maybe but prolly not
@underthewhitedime I agree with Codfish, I don't see a resemblence... I am glad they didn't because I want Fair to Midland to keep their own sound.. they are totally unique <3
Fair to Midland is AMAZING! Love this song, a sea farers knot, and a wolf decends on the spanish sahara! Freakin amazing. Has anyone heard a band even remotely as good as them?
matt used to be in a band called "cold fuzion" they were pretty fucking amazing..jacknife and dustborn are really good too....they all came out of the same area you should check them out
ive noticed FTM has ALOT of different versions of many of their song i was just wondering where all of that is coming from from.. from them or from ppl messing around with the song its self
No it's all FTM's doing. There are two album versions of Vice/Versa, (this one and the one from Fables), and there is the Demo for IFS Also, there is an older version that they played live but never recorded for an album, although i uploaded a live recording of it, (which you can download thanks to Gutterth). Gutterth also uploaded a live video of that older version. This is also true with some of their other songs, like Dance of the Manatee. Hope you enjoy listening to them.
this band is one of my all time favorites along with System of a down and slipknot.lov this song walls of jericho and tall tales taste like sour grapes. great music! (:

God dammit, I keep flipping back between this one and the new version and can't decide which one I like better, they're both so good.

Why is it much better? Because his voice is cracking the entire time? I love FTM, but the album version is definitely preferable.

IFS version of Vice is pretty amazing, and they can not improve Orphan Anthem '86, that song is epic as it is, no matter what.

yeah mine too. That extra beat really makes all the difference. And the scream leading into the second chorus sounds way better here.

yeah i completely agree. plus this version just sounds like more work was put into it, it's an overall better result from beginning to end.
