So true! AMEN! This new age has also made it easier for people to forget about God, b/c "Who needs the Bible?,right? It's just a fairytale book,I have an ipod,a computer,a tv&technology.I have everything I need in a blink of an eye." This makes people rely upon man&his words (mass babel),rather than relying on&looking to God&His Word,&makes people a lazy(asleep)generation.People need to wake up! Read a book, the Bible first, to gain some Truth into that brain matter, before walking into babylon.
Knowledge is less revered because it's more accessible. That doesn't equate a dummying down. It simply means the value on what comes out of someone's mouth has less weight.
Intellectual bullying is a joke now and when people think they're losing their self importance then they assume things are falling apart, because their ego can't keep up with any disregard anyone might have for their "vastly superior intellect".
People think if you go back in time then you found more value for being an intellectual... well that's true in part because no one could afford the cost of becoming one. You needed to be a part of the right social class and if you weren't... you were lucky to have a job.
Then if you wanted an answer to a question it would have to go unanswered until you came across the proper resources... now a days just type in to a search engine and you at least have something to grasp at first.
eh... I understand the point, but... Reasoning things out takes time. Books are helpful depending on the subject, but can sometimes be excessive. It might be thorough to dive in to every aspect of a subject to make a point, but the brain does get warn out. I'd say information is learned in different ways. I tend to learn some subjects better when I hear them from speakers.. I can hear tension in the voice... I can make out emotional tension. I don't get that from texts.
"...can't listen to more than 3-6 minutes without expecting a commercial break..." commercial :)

I like Mohler's humility in what could easily be a bragging point for intellectuals.

Given the very last sentence of this clip, it is ironic that the clip is just 4 minutes long.

I never liked fiction books. I was always into history and facts.
