@DisneyBeck You must be fucking deaf in addition to being a fucking moron; it was Marni Nixon all the way; it doesn't even sound remotely close to Andrews.
Indeed, at the academy awards, Andrews publically "thanked" Jack Warner for keeping her completely OFF the picture; she was as sarcastic and catty as you are an idiot but at least what Andrews had to say was most deserved; you're just a moron.
@SatchmoSings there is no need for such horrid rudeness. You could've easily have corrected me without personal attack or insult, as other informed people have in a polite civil way.
@PageboyHaircut Until I made your acquaintance, I didn't think it possible for someone to sexually assault themselves; I now know that self-ass rape is most definitely a reality.
@SatchmoSings Where were you educated, DeVry University? Lol, your comment is a non sequitur you low brow cunt. To reiterate: you have an incredibly small penis or a very loose vagina, it is merely an assessment based off of the quality of your comments and unwarranted bitterness. Sexually assault myself? Then I strongly suggest that you go out and proclaim your discovery, for people are dying for a slice of your lack of wisdom!
I remember first reading about Marni Nixon in, I think, the 1960s. So her dubbing was not a secret by then.
I think this is a fascinating subject and I'd really enjoy knowing whose voices were, and weren't, dubbed. Of course even people who could sing (sort of) might have had their real voice in one film and be dubbed in another. Or be dubbed in portions, as well.

Marni Nixon is a real cunt who trashes Natalie Wood and Audrey Hepburn constantly, But hey, those two ladies are legends, and Nixon is.......nobody. And I do NOT believe that Nixon EVER dubbed Marilyn.
My exposure to Marni was on a kids show here in Seattle called Boomerang. On that show she only looked to be in her 30s. It's amazing that she was actually pushing 50 when she did that show.
This is wonderful to watch! I am a young lady who grew up watching older films with my mom, and it is just so neat to find out the true singers of those movies. Thank you for this!
Just finished listening to my entire collection of M.M.'s recordings. It took 2 hours. (Obviously it is not her on WHEN I FALL IN LOVE). Anyway, I closed my eyes and just listened -what an amazing voice, so expressive. I guess that's why everyone loves her, it's not just the looks. Even when she is purposely trying to sound bad as in THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC she sounds amazing but awful at the same time.Truly an underated singer.
Remember "Singing in the Rain?" Debbie Reynold's character.. was dubbing the "STARS" singing voice... and eventually the audience is shown... that the real singer is Debbie's character. Now people are finding out that people like... Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady".... had a dubber. Hollywood manufactures sandcastles. Don't admire a steroid actor like Stallone. He works 2 months a year... pretending to be someone else. That's not a real man. Believe movies...and you're as good as dead.
@frickadele yes , but wasn't Debbie reynolds herself dubbed(in her role as a "dubber") in "singing in the rain " ? she doesn't have a great voice and some of the notes she produces in 'singing in the rain " i find very dubious...
wow, how shocking that once again someone is spreading lines about Marilyn, if you look up a clip of Jane russell, Esther williams and this unknown talking about the film, this unknown woman even admits that NOTHING WAS DUBBED!
Regarding Marilyn Monroe: She states in her book that on "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" she was asked to dub in one line: -these Rocks don't lose their shape, diamonds are a girl's best friend!" and if you listen to the recording carefully, you can tell, but the rest is pretty much all Marilyn's voice!
A lot of the "No, no, no"s in the beginning are Marni too (not the first of the screeched "No"). Marilyn is there when the song starts "The French..." Marni sang all the higher parts. Marni was good at sounding like MM.
@RobinGoodFellovv Well, I couldn't swear to it, but Marni states that just that one line is Marni jumping in on that one phrase. If you listen to it carefully, you can hear that the tail end of the phrase is slightly different. Marni does NOT take credit for the high notes at the beginning of the song, I think that may be yet another soprano. It gets a little confusing, Marilyn had a passable singing voice, but not much of a range I guess -
Marni was great and I always respected her gift but Ms. Monroe never needed her services but a lot less beautiful non-talented women did so that's what kept her bills paid!
the topic of dubbing reminds me of the movie "singing in the rain", where kathy selden (debbie reynolds) has to dubb lina lamonts voice, and she wasn't allowed to say,...
@wiebs23 Funny about that — Jean Hagen (who played Lina) is the one who actually sang those parts! Lol. So, Jean Hagen dubbed Debbie Reynolds who's character was dubbing Jean Hagen's character! Crazy, eh?
@wiebs23 Its ironic because they ended up dubbing over Debbie Reynolds in some parts of "Singing in the Rain"--example being "Lucky Star" at the end of the movie. Also, when Kathy is singing for Ms. Lamonte "I Would, Would You", it isn't her actual voice. Strangely ironic, isn't it?
Deborah Kerr, class act. Marni Nixon, ditto.

Marni Nixon and Leonard Lopate, two exquisities.

I agree, they did the same with Oliver Twist the musical, although that would have been easy to guess....
