  • actually punjabi usually sounds funny when the faggots from bollywood, generally hindi-speaking, make feeble attempts at the language, when in reality it sounds much more rugged than it's metrosexual cousin (hindi). and sikhs tend not to get lice not because they wear turbans, but moreso because they avoid intimate (or spiritual i suppose) relationships with monkeys and elephants and such...

  • That's not true. Sikhs don't have to be punjabi...they can be gujarati/bengali/english/frenc­h, etc.

    Sikhism is a religion, and Punjabi is a language. It's true that MOST Sikhs are Punjabi, but not all. For example, there are many American converts to Sikhism (like the popular Sikh community in New Mexico), who have no relation to Punjab ancestrally.

  • That's true that not all sikhs are punjabi but more than 90% of them are, more than Muslims or HIndus when you look at the distribution. Which is why a lot of the "punjabi" based movies in bollywood always make at least one of the characters is a sardar (sikh). Eg. Love Ajj Kal, Singh is Kingg, Bachna Ae Haseeno, etc.
