  • some have said going with the comcast business account has no 250gb limit. i'm on FiOS right now, but i'm moving into a new house soon and i need something comparable to my 25/25 and was hoping for the extreme 50 or 105, but with a 250gb limit f' that. i cant get FiOS in the new house :( comcast's website says business account isnt available for the address i put in. seriously why the hell does comcast not have a residential premium account with no limit? thats just retarded.

  • @Munky332 They're protecting their precious TV revenues. That's the long and short of why they have caps. The business account shouldn't be a problem; call them and ask about getting one. It's more money per month, there may be a contract, and there may be an install charge; how can comcast lose? They'd be stupid to not sign you up for it.

  • What is this program and what does it do? (Sorry if i'm asking questions with obvious answers, i really don't know)

  • hmmm. i pay $199.99 for 5 mbps!

  • Haha with FiOS's speed, Comcast looks so elementary.

  • × Get your own docsis 3.0 modem instead of paying comcast $7.00 for a docsis 2.0 rental a month. And u be surprise how fast owned 3.0 modem. Remember comcast controls ur speed if u pay more u get more. Mine goes up to 89.99mb on my laptop. And i only signed up for 12mb. - the cable guy.

  • @TheDROIDXtreme I have a TM702G EMTA, which is D3. I could go to Best Buy and buy one (a 722G, actually) for $150, but that's a pretty steep price to pay considering that Comcast will replace this one if it conks out.

  • I have the Extreme 50 also, it is great! But a little too expensive.

  • Does it still have 250gb per month download limit?

  • @misaghk Yes, but I always go over.

  • @Moffetts I was doing the same thing but they called me and told me if i go over again the cancel my service and I will be banned from comcast for 1 year. Anyway whats the benefit of having this much download speed when u cant download. stupid comcast!

  • @misaghk I got the service in November of 2009 and have gone over every single month (save one) since then, and actually did 750GB two months ago. Their system for who gets busted and who doesn't isn't fully understood, but I think I know my limitations.

  • what coast this it?

  • @kilzone17 West

  • @Moffetts how much does it cost per month?

  • My Comcast is running 75 down and 21 up.

As soon as it's avaliable here i'm running 100mb CAN'T wait. Nobody will touch that. Fiber to the side of my house is awesome.

  • @KayVC89 The fiber doesn't get anywhere near your house. The last mile is primarily hardline coax. If you can get DSL service and you're running off of a remote terminal rather than a CO, the fiber that feeds the RT will be closer to your house than Comcast's is. Someday, cablecos will have to go FTTH. Not now and not in the forseeable future, though.

  • @KayVC89 Try japan's speed 2gbps download yeah it puts us in the US in shame and look in envy

  • @kazper333 : Using XG-PON2 architecture, Verizon reached 10Gbps on October of 2010. This is notably the fastest internet in the world, right now.

  • how much is that in Kbps ????

  • @KILLA12PSN Technically, 63,897.6 kilobits down and 13,649.92 kilobits up. In kilobytes, it's 7,987.2 kilobytes down and 1,706.24 kilobytes up.

  • @Moffetts so it really means your downloading 8Megabytes per second and about 2Megabytes per second

    wow thats Pretty fast

  • Nothing can beat Verizon Fios!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised your not getting even more. One video on here showed a guy getting over 130mbps with that plan.

  • @nick0912nascar Historically, the first few months of channel bonding have uncapped download speeds, hende the 100+ mbps results. Once the service has been fully deployed in a given area, the speeds for each tier are capped, though there are a few odd cases of 12/2 customers routinely powerboosting to 90+ down. My results are very typical, though.

  • Damn I think I will stop buying so many games a month to afford this internet

  • I just upgraded tonight, getting no where near those speeds. Will call them in the morning, something must be screwed up. I get up to 60mb bursts (speedboost), but end up getting around 11-13mb average on a 100mb file.

  • i have The Extreme 50 For $79.99 is a Offer with Comcast Digital TV

  • Your U/L speed is faster than my D/L speed lmao. That is ridiculous, I can't wait until I'm out of the military and get this service....Price tag nothing, that's what roommates are for ^_^

  • holy bawls.

  • i have the same service inChicago and i too get the same d/l and u/l speeds and i love the service can't complain yet the only thing i hate is the 250 gb cap these as@holes have going on i've went over for the last three months and my account is still in good standings i really hope that Comcast does something fast about their caps because it is pointless to offer these speeds if u can't really use them to the full potential but so far no warnings from the big man yet Thanks your friend CHICAGO

  • @kasperii22ndii if you come to charlotte you can get the same speed with TWC and there is no bandwidth cap

  • Nice that's super fast, what program you using in the video to test the speed I have lime wire I want to download a lot of movies from it but it takes a long time. I have Comcast Performance Downloads up to 15Mbps, will it better to get Comcast Extreme 50 Downloads up to 50Mbps please tell me.

  • damm!!! i have comcast ultra though mines 35 mps

  • comcast is offering me this plus a basic tv package even though I have directv for 29.99 for 12 months

  • @dhscb12 lol

  • @NielNielD dongs

  • comcast offered me extreme 50 for 69.95 for 12mnths

  • wow thats f'n fast. i get 5.14 mb with ATT over here in san jose. im guessing ur paying 100 plus per month for your com service? whats the avergae Download speed you get per sec?? im getting 616 kb/s max

  • @TurtLePimpin It's 100 per month plus EMTA rental, so I think it's 104.95. I can sustain 6500 kilobytes per second download and 1200 kilobytes per second upload. I used to have 6mb DSL like you do and I had similar speeds. It was nice because there were no caps and obviously it's a lot cheaper than this Comcast thing is.

  • Have you tried a sustained download? like a 600 meg file from the web (non p2p)? does it hold the 50mbps (or somewhere close to it) throughout the entire download?

  • I can sustain 6.2-6.5 megabytes per second downloads as long as the source can push that kind of speed.

  • Nice. Comcast offers 50mbps in some suburbs here in Atlanta, but the only negative thing is the price.

  • Yeah it is pretty expensive. I think Ultra would work just as well for most applications.

  • holy balls

  • Can't wait until its in Orlando!

  • that is sick!
