Congrats on your first turkey. I can't wait until my season's start. Check back in two months to see if I am able to add 2011 turkey hunt videos. I will also try to film a hunt in Nebraska with a crossbow
@jtschid0910 Thanks for the comment. Springtime is the most exciting time IMO. Having the Toms gobble and strut can really get your blood going. Your state DNR may offer classes, turkey magazines and DVD's can be a source of info. But remember, those Toms always find a way to break your heart and frustrate you so don't give up.
i am in PA and on the first day i swear we had 50 turkeys around us roosting in pine trees and on the ground. could'nt get a shot because they circled up around a hill and came behind us.
I am on only 5 acres at this place. The critical item is I know where they want to travel. There are homes directly behind me and there is a lake 50 to 60 yards in front of me so the turkeys are in a funnel situation and they walk right past my blind.
I also was using two decoys, one hen that I can move with a string attached to her and a mating pair that is just off to the side. These young jakes thought they might get lucky. Only one was unlucky. LOL
yea it does matter if they are really spooked noise will make a difference, the turkeys could move or 'duck" the shot. Noise also tells a lot about a bow, noise is vibration so that means the shooter is taking a lot of vibration in the shooters hand and elbow.
Oh ok. Well you deff had a nice hot stop there where they walk up. I'm am going to try some bow hunting this spring. You can check out my vids though if you like. You might like them.
the arrow actually was defected to the left side of that path the turkeys walked up. you can see the arrow almost hit the back turkey on the left side, easier on my computer to see that. it took me awhile to the arrow. i had to review the video several times to see the deflection.
I was using the 4" guillotine broadhead. One of the 4 blades broke off. One blade was bent.
I used a sony camcorder. Nothing fancy. I had a better copy but the size was too large for Youtube to accept. Thanks for the website, Neck of the woods. I will sbmit there also and maybe submit for the upcoming contest.

Nice shot! Now with 4" Guillotine broad head. Do you aim for the head or the body?
jadon270 4 years ago
This broadhead is designed for only head shots.
The distance was about 8 yards.
Thanks for the comment and I hope to have more turkey action this spring
