Anderson Cooper360 :Racist cartoon?

Anderson Cooper should have better moderated this discussion- one of the only reasons I watched it is that his name was attached to it. It was kind of disappointing, to say the least.

even if the artist WASN'T trying to be racist, you can still see why african americans would be offended by it; anyone would start to see racism in things if they had had to deal with it for hundreds of years.

Interesting. Racists see racism everywhere. Ron Christie makes perfectly rational and logical points based on fact. Whether people interpret this as racism is not my problem, it's theirs. Calling him delusional is his frustration that he can't convince Mr. Christie to his point of view.

@gderjeff I agree that Roland Martin's ad hominen attack is uncalled for and indicative of his desperation in attempting to counter Ron Christie. Still, I am not sure I completely buy Christie's implication that black people who are comfortable in their skin should have no problem with the cartoon. The fact is that for a long time black people were caricatured as primates, and people are still aware of this. I do not find the cartoon overtly racist- I just think it is kind of a dumb.
