"Pioneer announced on February 12, 2009 it will withdraw from the display business by March 2010. While this has been a celebrated category for many years, display production is not economically viable at this time.
For those consumers still considering purchasing an award-winning Pioneer KURO display, current models are available at our retail partners and Pioneer plans to continue supporting service needs, replacement parts and warranties.
Is this TV good for watching sports? Football racing etc. because i was reading 1 comment on some other website complaining about blurring while he was watching football ex when the camera zooms in during fast action shots or something like that it blurrs and you can hardly see the players jersey number. Is that true? is this TV good for the fast motion Sports deliver cna it handle it? because im real close to purchasing this tv and this is the last thing i want to know.
Blurring when the camera zooms in can often be an artifact of the broadcast and not of the TV.
Also, blurring in these instances of fast motion is not necessarily a bad thing. It just indicates that something is moving very, very fast. If the picture is sharp the other 99% of the time, that's your concern.
With that said, plasmas are well known for being able to handle fast action.
ANY KURO 72o or 1080 looks absolutely stunning I'd take this tv over 99% of other 1080p tv's. As it is the new 1080P Kuro's are better because they are newer but this tv is great as my good friend own's it thats how I can vouch for its amazing quality.
I saw the new Kuro at Best Buy and now I'm leaning towards that rather than the more expensive 4 inch smaller Sony XBR8. I can get the new 50 inch Kuro for 3000 off on the net talk about bang for your buck! The LCD's in the store can't compare to the PQ of Pioneer.
I believe that you will be waiting for awhile. The Pioneer rep at CES would not venture a guess at when they would be available. This was a concept model, so I would be surprised to see one before 2010.

the Pioneer Elite Kuro 111FD is even better
-5x better blacks
-way more controls and color controls etc
-light sensor
and its 1928x1080 so its Full HD now
-so much stuff that i dont even feel like saying
so the bottome line is that the pioneer elite Kuro 111FD is the best tv that has ever been made so far. it even beats the CRT's.

No, the 111FD has much deeper blacks, higher contrast, light sensor, better picture, it's basically an all around improvement
