@100milnic Who gives a fuck about music? I am talking about lifestyle, music was just the way to express it, and it is ment to sound awfull. His lifestyle is totaly against punk...
How is it possible that someone who likes punk, likes matlock too? I mean, guy was totally against everything that punk represents. Pistols were the kind of band that pushed the boundaries of normality , and he was 100% normal for that period. He didn't like Anarchy in the UK because his mom didn't like the lyrics. He joined the band after they kicked him out twice. Complete moron
@gulbgulb1 punk is phrase that was handy for the media, sex pistols didn't even like the term. pistols were a rock band with some ideas from & about their time. matlock was in from start, he wrote bulk of music, including the guitar riffs. he set ball rolling writing pretty vacant (after richard hell's blank generation) & that set tone for pistols songs. he left when the bullshit started & was only one not caught up in later shambles. it's his story not yours!
Matlock was a wanker they all said it and it was punk not fucking elvis it doesnt matter about what it sounds like its called do what u want just fuck everyone fools
Yeah, Sid couldn't even play bass, they just put him in the band cause him and John were friends in high school. As a bassist myself, I am really pissed off that they saw the bass guitar as so unimportant that they hired a talentless deadbeat junkie to strum 3 chords. I didn't even like the Sex Pistols that much until I heard these demos. Without good bass, any song will sound flat and bland. It may not be the most flashy instrument, but the bass guitar is one to be appreciated.
no steve started playin in late 75 and was on guitar for 3 months before they played their first gig, this is late 76 where steve was on guitar for atleast 9-10 months
they didnt have glen to do the bass though, i think that is part of the reason nmtb sounded like it did, as they didnt know what to do with the bass at first
what i would like to hear is glen to rerecord the bass lines and then to hear nmtb remixed with them in, now that would be something
yeah, they should have taken Spedding as producer, but:
Chris Thomas was producing Chris Speddings own album "Hurt" just at the same time as he was producing the Pistols "Bollocks", and if you`re listening to Speddings "Hurt" (my opinion) its THAT MUCH better than the Pistols production. So, who`s to blame? I think wether the Pistols themselves OR it was Malcolms decision to let them sound like shit for selling them as a real bunch of punx to make more money with them...
I have the concert version and I can't believe how clear this sounds compared to the stage version!
I mean it's the exact same recording sort of but clearer..
I am trying to get 2 particular songs from them.. They did a version of feelings in a studio room. It was unplugged (live) But no audience. They used a clip of it in the great rock and roll swindle movie. But I am trying to get the whole song.. And the winterland (last concert) version of bodies... :)

The album is fantastic. It is obvious that this is a demo - a bloody good one too. Glen and Steve played bass on NMTB.
