To answer pomponi0. Those "morons" clapping are Americans(Lincoln center)nobody told them to do so, it just comes naturally to them. That sort of lack of respect and étiquette would never happen anywhere else.
@aux0armes If you knew a bit about Pavarotti you'd knew that the clapping started at his request at some point, he felt like breaking the barriers between opera and the peoples and wanted to make people feel more involved in the whole opera thing, i remember seeing him contless times waving his hands during this music as if asking for clapping.
Now, i'm not saying you should clap when listening to opera in the middle of songs but with Pavarotti you really felt you had too do it.

@aux0armes ...I beg to differ. In Hong Kong we have cultivated an extremely high level of bad taste and pretentious posturing as well as corruption, collusion, and downright cultural rot.
when il Maestro Pavarotti canta senti tutte le parole. When Maestro Pavarotti sings you can hear every single word clear as a bell. A pure genius in every sense, we sorely miss him
@Loismustdie26 that is very classic in opera for your information. They are high class singers, they are not supposed to learn all the songs they do. Sometimes they have the lyrics and notes too.
@Loismustdie26 i'm just a soul who's intentions are good, oh lord please dont let me be missunderstood^^ hehe. cheers just having fun with a song that i love from Nina.
Between, look at 1:04 at the girl in black using a bigger pape^r to read :)))
The soprano is intoxicating. I have had a tough time finding other productions featuring her. all in all, quite a performance. Pavarotti kills, by the way.
Libiamo, amore fra i calici più caldi baci avrà. All: Ah, libiamo; amor fra i calici Più caldi baci avrà
I must agree with halevy that Millo deserves the highest praise for the piece. Her singing is very much lyrical and her top b-flat is exceptionally powerful.
@pomponi0 Lol i was thinking that to they where fucking up the whole show. Good that they stopped in seconds. I think they knew they fucked it up. But its always in the theather you come with a good ritm and they clap its just dumbness.
@pomponi0 If you knew a bit about Pavarotti you'd knew that the clapping started at his request at some point, he felt like breaking the barriers between opera and the peoples and wanted to make people feel more involved in the whole opera thing, i remember seeing him contless times waving his hands during this music as if asking for clapping.

You know how snobbs are, they're just puddingheads with a large inheritance. They never do anything right. "Sit alone and shut up whilst the -truly- important person sings." is far too complicated for them.
My, if it wasn't for blue collars, this world would have gone under a long time ago.
@pomponi0 Here is who told them to clap, the Berliners on this video: Villazon, Domingo,Netrebko performing La Traviata Brindisi (Youtube won't let me put in link so search for that title to find it!)
Gracias Luciano, por hacer de la lírica un canto al alcance de todos, por haber cantado con tantos cantantes populares del mundo sin importarte que fueran tenores o sopranos.
best. opera. EVER.
