@hamdizzel4 they really can't, that's why they don't shoot em (except certain tall players who make it a specialty, ie nowitzki, frye, etc). that was duncan's first three pointer of the season, btw. unfortunately he nailed it >:(
its absolutely a travel, he doesn't dribble and lifts his pivot foot. can't take 2 steps without dribbling. BUT when you compare that to all the travels people get away with in the NBA, its nothing.
Duncan owns the Suns. Always has, always will, Nash may have 2 mvps, but Duncan has 4 rings 3finals mvps 2reg mvps, and is far superior to Nash, Kevin GarNOT, and rest of the clowns.
i think the spurs are so fun to watch, i dont see how they're boring. its like they're performing surgery. they're so diciplined and so well practiced. its like they planned everything from the beginning.
He didn't travel. When he caught the ball, his left foot was in the air when he caught the ball, which allowed him two steps to adjust, preparing for the shot. ..and Duncan's 3? FUCK YA.
he didnt travel he just used his foot as a pivot for the shot lol, bowen is dirty which is suprising since he is one of the nicest people for charities and stuff lol, manu does flop sometimes, not as much as the lakers players though lol!
2000 - 2004 lakers were my favorite basketball team though. Except the time when dereck fisher shot that 0.4 shot, that was just crazy, against the spurs.
Great play by Ginobili, he doesn't get enough credit for his ability to tear up defences on his own. It's impossible to defend on this guy, he's too quick and too gifted. He creates the move for Duncan to finish it off beautifully.
that is not a travel watch every single nba player when they catch a pass they take a quick 2 step just like duncan did except u hardly notice his...not a travel if you know basketball...watch a game and just watch any player when they catch it u can see they take a real quick 2 step and its not a travel
Phoenix's plan was to allow Ginobili have the 2-point shot if he wanted to take it, and if you noticed, everyone is covered on the perimeter with the exception of Duncan. On the contrary, nobody expected Duncan to take that shot. That must be one of the best plays that I have even seen in my basketball watching years, and goes to show that Gregg Popovich's tenure is no fluke. You have no idea how many times they would have had to practice that play!
If Shaq stays with Duncan and Ginobili drives and scores, Phoenix is still up by one with 3 or 4 seconds left, with the ball. Their defensive scheme just makes no sense. They should be encouraging Ginobili to take a 2 point shot. It was actually a bad defensive plan by Phoenix that forced Duncan to make the game winning shot.
I don't understand why people are so shocked that a 2 time MVP with 4 championships can hit a wide open three. This is just terrible D by Shaq. If 50 year old accountants and 15 year old potheads playing at the YMCA can hit open threes (I've seen it happen many times!), then it only makes sense that Duncan can too.
Who cares about TV ratings? We fans don't make any money off of that. The Spurs are awesome and if they win again, then good for them. Tim Duncan rules all!
I don't know why everyone dreads the Spurs making it to the Finals and killing the tv ratings. If they were so boring, why is everyone always calling various Spurs playoff series (Dal/Pho/LAL) the "Real Championship"? They are consistently entertaining when in the Western brackets. It seems to me the problem lies in the Eastern Conference and their utter inability to hang with the West. Go Spurs!
Shaq should have known better. It's Shaq who Duncan hit that crazy shot over four years ago, maybe 4 feet to the left of where he was yesterday. But Shaq got let off the hook cuz of 0.4.
This series is already like the finals... hell, i love the match-up between the suns & spurs. They always tend to be the championship games! Wow was that fro a spurs play book???
thats what you get out of shaq...chasing a slasher and leaving his guy open. we've seen this so many times when he was a laker. thats just one of the many bonehead plays shaq brings to the suns. go spurs! sweep the crybabies and floppers out of 1st round.
nash should have let ginobli drive in uncontested for the easy bucket as soon as he passed the three point line. i dont care if it was duncan but in that situation, u shouldnt give ANYONE an open three.
they did win the championship that yr did they ,,i dont remember

It wasn't a travel. You're allowed 2 steps.
But that might just be one of the clutchest moments I've seen in a long time.
coopdog929 2 years ago 13
You have to dribble before you can take those 2 steps technically... but the refs usually don't care about a little foot shuffle.

just wondering..those two little steps without dribbling..is that considered a travel?
lazystevie 2 years ago
yeah it should be traveling but they never call it playoffs ot and the 7c seconds left.
billgo5233 2 years ago
im not sure. maybe that first step is when he catches the ball. then another to set the shot. dont quote me on that tho.

Yes you should dribble first but they usually let little foot shuffles go.
