Is immediately jumping into a lease obligation really the smartest decision?
Moving into the basement of a friend or relative, who is also struggling with a reduction of income, strikes me as the best way to keep options open. For many of us, finding a comparable job to the one just lost will probably require an out-of-state move.
As a landlord losing my tri plex, I am ready to move on, Aurora drove me mad, I am so glad they finally foreclosed on a property worth 400,000 less a big wait off my shoulder, I will never ever get a loan again. i should of walked away months ago!

Excellent advice as always. As a landlord who rents multiple properties you have very sound advice for tenants.
