@Cookiecutter87 yes. I read that in the book "The Original Beauty Bible" by Paula Begoun. You should check it out. She's done tons of research and cites it all in her book. Many (if not most) essential oils are irritating to the skin and can cause cell death. There's no such thing as organic skin care really. And many synthetic ingredients are very helpful and beneficial to the skin, whereas many 'natural' ingredients are very harmful, i.e.: flowers, essential oils, etc.

I know, alot of people assume that "natural" automatically means good. But they forget that lead and mercury are all perfectly natural. I guess the reason why I still find the "lavender is bad" idea hard to accept is because I have heard so much information about it being good. However, in reality, the fact that everyone believes something does not make it true. I'll be sure to try and read that book. Thanks.

In it (and I mean throughout the entire book) she busts all the myths about skin care and ingredients used with peer reviewed journals and one of the sections is on parabens and stuff. basically there was one person that decided to make a big deal about them, and guess what, there are parabens in vegetables and that's where they most likely came from, not topical skin care, when they were found in someone
