  • I never realized how much nirvana copied them

  • god that nigga is ugly as fuck.

  • great great mudhoney

  • @frenchpet you sir are an idiot. try 2 google before you type in that keyboard of yours.

  • Mudhoney rocks

  • Why are they copying Nirvana so much ?

  • @frenchpet If you knew anything about music, you would know that Mudhoney inspired Nirvana.

  • @erinannbrady if you knew anything about trolling you wouldn't of responded.

  • @frenchpet You are stupid?

  • @llDiamondRopell This band is a copy of Nirvana and everyone knows it just like Pearl Jam is a copy of Creed !

  • @frenchpet Yes, you are srupid

  • @frenchpet Great another idiot to educate. Mark Arm ( lead singer here) was around with Green river ( look em up) and even this band BEFORE Nirvana broke. Infact, Mark was the first ( in the states anyway) to use the term " grunge" to describe his music. This guy is one of the origonals.

  • @frenchpet Augh, guess i should have read the other replies. Guess you got me.

  • @frenchpet Pearl Jam had their most succesful time before Creed even existed!

  • what the hell is the illuminati doing there!? o.O

  • he looks like Spencer form iCarly LOL!

  • The Melvins and Black Flag had HUGE influences on grunge, as did the Pixies. They all rock in their own way. Except for Pearl Jam, they f'n sucked 20 years ago and they still f'n suck. Frat boy d-bag band.

  • check out nirvanas 'sliver' video it actually advertises mudhoney ...........................kurt obviously loved them

  • to broken wings: the same reas on why Nirvana shows up on your screen when you do a Mudhoney search. Mudhoney used to open for Nirvana all the time. Both great bands........who cares, its not like synchrodeath is talking about Britney Spears or some other pop shit of today.

  • Nirvana, Mudhoney and Green River - Kings of Grunge

  • i like NIRVANA/MUDHONEY !get over it!

  • @domestikmc coz i like NIRVANA/MUDHONEY !!!! why does that piss U off ? dont care get pissed off!

  • Mark Arm and Green River started grunge

  • nirvana was crowned kings i love nirvana damn i miss ”grunge” 90's music !!!!!!!!!

  • @brokenwings41 why the fuck are you bringing up Nirvana on a Mudhoney video

  • @DomestikMC they're both great bands from Seattle, both part of the grunge scene in the 90s, I'd say they have alot in common.

  • thumbnail makes him look really retarded. not in the video, but the thumbnail.

  • He's the ugliest cousin of Kurt LOL...

  • is this guy nuts?

  • are those jaguar guitars?the blue one and red one at the begginging

  • @NirvanaNerd364 mustangs

  • hey, mudhoney and nirvana used to play same night/same place in Olympia WA half a mile down the road from where I lived for 5 bucks in a place called The Surf Club, my roomate used to bug me to go there with her and check em out, I said nah, figured just more Evergreen hippie bands, kicked myself later. I was jamming soundgarden though, someone gave me their first cd, never heard of em back then, but i listened to that cd all the time, best seattle band of that time IMO

  • why weren't mudhoney bigger than nirvana?

  • @gailmckennag Look there was a lot of great bands that came out of Seattle, we know that, but there's a reason why Nirvana was on the top.

  • @cyrtifyd based upon American culture loving medocricy is my only guess.

  • @cyrtifyd Well we're all entitled to our own opinions but if it wasn't for Nirvana a lot of people outside of the Seattle area wouldn't have heard of a lot of the bands from there. So you can't belittle them with that being a fact.

  • @cyrtifyd its more of a fact that if it was not for mudhoney no one would really know what was going on in seattle. that is a fact and that means no one would have looked at nirvana. nirvana just happened to be the band that exploded into the mainstream which was unexpected.

  • mudhoney got lucky in the 90s..there music was second class to all the other seattle bands soundgarden, pear jam and alice etc....mudhoney got the subpop contracts and the big record deals and they alone could barley fill a small hall..put them on a venue with alice or the screeming trees and you got a room filled..............

  • @danakulchyski it wasn't second class, just not mainstream.

  • @FunkTheJunkPunk ya second class was a bad choice of words

  • I would say that my band is kind of like an up-coming modern day grunge band. We're kind of taking the old grunge scene and mixing it up to make it more relevant to today's scene. Not that there's anything wrong with old-school grunge, but it wouldn't be very fun to completely rip-off Mudhoney's sound and call it our own.

Check us out on my channel if your curious.

  • People...stop calling it "grunge." Its rock music. Thats it. Only the greedy record labels called it "grunge."

  • @synchrodeath Lynyrd Skynyrd is rock, Deep Purple is rock, The Beatles is rock, Sex Pistols is rock, and Mudhoney is rock. It's pretty hard to tell what rock is, isn't it? That's why we call it ''Southern Rock'' and ''Punk Rock'' and ''Hard Rock'' and ''Pop Rock'' and ''Punk Rock'' and ''Grunge''

  • @andybirger lol you said punk rock twice

  • @andybirger Yes, sugenres are necessary, but over categorising everything is bad, besides most bands in the Gunge scene barely have anything in common soundwise, which is what he's trying to get at I think.

  • @andybirger lynyrd skynyrd is country rock

  • @willfryd It's Southern Rock. Pretty much the same.

  • @synchrodeath

Quit trying to be different. No one cares what it's called, or what the "greedy record companies" call it.

  • @synchrodeath Actually mudhoney were the ones to coin the term "grunge" when asked what kind of music they play, the singer said "it sounds kinda grungy" but your right the record companies took that word and exploited it. they lumped together all those seattle bands, threw plaid shirts on them and called it the grunge scene.

  • Green River and the Melvins should be talked about right about now.

  • Kurt and Mark look so much alike, and with the hair, I might mistake them for each other from a distance.

  • Mark and Kurt are like twins :D

  • Where's the damn 'LOVE' button when you need it?!?! Great song

  • Grunge is a lame ass title. Its all rock n roll baby

  • @system922 Go fuck yourself

  • Love this song so........

  • Sonic Youth influences...

  • i'm sure they talk about illuminati

  • The singer looks like Kurt Cobain

  • @Panterallica1 No, Kurt Cobain looks like the singer. Mudhoney was first

  • @FasterThanLightX Green River first, which then when parted became Mudhoney and Mother Love Bone

  • i'm going to watch this for the 2nd time!

  • Comment removed

  • Check out Violent Soho, modern aussie grunge, Seattle aint the only thing for grunge ;D

  • @MinusNineMusic you should check out my band, were are influenced by them :) and alot of other grunge and alt. bands. we are aussie aswell

  • I luv all you Generation X Motherfuckers....love, Grandpa xxx

  • fuck, is youtube the gathering point for internet retards or something? barely a grunge video to be found without idiots arguing for/against nirvana... i mean really? didn't you guys get it out of your system in high school?

and metal videos are worse - they're all about justin bieber!

  • @turnerjmulletboy Damn sure it is! Welcome to YouTube, the place where people whine about their jobs, 4-seconds-commercial, a tiny Vevo-logo in the corner of a video, and about videos they doesnt watch.

  • Mark is all Arms!

  • 02:00

Most epic guitar solo of all time!

  • the video clips amazing!

  • Funny how Mark Arm is not Iggy Pop

  • Everything good comes from Seattle.

    Nirvana, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains.

  • @Kristina1396

Don't forget about foo fighters, soundgarden and pearl jam

  • @MrFreepasses I wouldn't dream of forgetting about them :P

  • @Kristina1396 Wanna visit that great state someday and feel 360 from 365 days of the year the rain. Visit the rock museum, drink a lot and live the real grunge experience :S Though no matter the place you are living, that existencialism feeling will surround you one day of you're life :S (at least)

  • @Kristina1396 and jimi hendrix

  • @aituaitz YES :D

  • @Kristina1396 and jimi hendrix

  • @Kristina1396 Pearl Jam!?

  • @Kristina1396 hmmmm Pearl Jam?

  • @Kristina1396 and Soundgarden?

  • @Kristina1396 Technically Nirvana isn't from seattle.

  • @TheRealAngusturtle ya their from aberdeen

  • @juliebully8 I know

  • @Kristina1396 Almost every grunge band comes from Seattle, except Stone Temple Pilots

  • @jevimetal13 not really

  • @Kristina1396 And PEARL JAM!

  • @Kristina1396 Jimi Hendrix

  • @Kristina1396 Mother Love Bone!

  • @Kristina1396 dont forget starbucks

  • @RichardLaszcz or the mighty NEVERMORE \M/

  • @Kristina1396 WOAH! Where is Soundgarden? They have been the most influential grunge band of the 90's. And was the first true grunge band.

  • @nopulpapple Mudhoney/the Pixies/Temple Of Dog were way before Soundgarden, therefore, not the first grunge band.

  • @grungepolitics True, don't know why I said that last part. I still believe they lived as one of the most influential grunge bands; though I suppose I won't win any argument against someone who's name is grungepolitics lol.

  • @nopulpapple Temple Of The Dog was Chris's previous band with Eddie Vedder in it and if I was sure also Tom Morello so Soungarden may not be the "founder" of Grunge but Chris defitinly did his part with forming that band.

So in a way u were right after all. :-)

  • @grungepolitics um nooo tom morello was not in TotD lol

  • @grungepolitics also soundgarden was started in 1984, they were on the deep six cut, so yeah they were one of the first's

  • @link55588 Really? I'm quite sure Temple Of Dog was before Soundgarden but I might be wrong.

  • @grungepolitics nooo haha temple of the dog was 1990, they formed when Andy Wood passed

  • @link55588 That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for that, I got a bit confused when I was thinking about who was first and who not.

  • @grungepolitics Temple of the dog was 1990 and it wasnt a band, it was just Bother Love Bone with Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder guesting on a tribute album for Andy Wood. Soundgarden had been around and im pretty sure Chris just took time off to record the album, and what was left of Mother Love Bone/Temple of the Dog joined with Vedder to form Pearl Jam. You should watch the grunge documentary on youtube, it sums everything from 1980-2000 in the grunge era.

  • @maxmatt4 oh, hey thanks a lot and I will check it out!

    have a good day sir.

  • @Kristina1396 and jimi henderix

  • @Kristina1396 and MLB-PJ, Tad...heart...oh crap there is alot..lol

  • @Kristina1396 except starbucks

  • @Kristina1396 Temple of Dog and after that Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.

  • @Kristina1396 Retard!Nirvana is for the most part from Aberdeen.

  • Comment removed

  • @Kristina1396 And Jimmy Hendrix !

  • @Kristina1396 what about pink floyd, led zeppelin, the beatles, third eye blind,? they didnt come out of seattle

  • @diperrimax pink floyd, led zeppelin, the beatles and third eye blind are not grunge...

  • @Lizzzzz31 i was making a point saying that they are good bands that ARENT grunge, i know they arent

  • I'd move to Seattle. Dayton sucks shit.

  • @LessThanJayson Don't move to Seattle. There are jobs, rent is expensive, the city is stuck in afterglow. It's pretty overrated. Vancouver is cool. Also expensive, but people are friendlier and the vibe is louder. Portland is cool as well, but not as many jobs. Also, remember, NW weather is not great during the summer. It can get pretty crummy. That said, Seattle is more or less safer than most places in the US, which is done. Move to Europe. They have fun. Austin also wins.

  • @TheRealCritique Vancouver during fall / winter rains almost everyday. But it's the coolest city i've ever been to

  • is snow common in NW btw?

  • illuminatis on behind !

  • 13th floor elevators are pretty sick, but i wouldnt say they are better than the beatles. they may have stepped further out of the box in some regards, but credit must be given to groups who display a true mastery of their medium while exhibiting versatility. in my mind grunge can benefit from some outside influences. i feel pearl jam did a phenomenal job of melding it with a variety of other styles. worth checking into is the hardcore punk scene that narrowly predated this one.. bad brains wooo

  • Let's all move to Seattle and play some Grunge!

  • @KristinNirvana I'm down with that shit! Just gimme a sec to tape my guitar back together!

  • @KristinNirvana Oh Yeah and get like a million gallons of Rain over me, no thanks, I'd rather go Iraq where it's nice and dry ^_^

  • @SuperGoldfish1999 For some reason I LOVE rain. I'm from southern California where it doesn't rain that much and I'm sick and tired of it! It's so dry all the hillsides have this gross orange-brown dead tint to them and fires just make things worse. All the plants and trees are dead. I hate the dryness and heat. I CRAVE rain so much. I would love to go to a place that either makes me stop craving rain or makes me overwhelmed with rain for a change. Seattle rain has been over-exaggerated though.

  • @KristinNirvana you should move to Louisiana. It rains here al the time and everything is green.

  • @KristinNirvana Portland gets more rain

  • @KristinNirvana i already live here! this was the first mudhoney song i discovered and will always be a favorite!!

  • @KristinNirvana

    Amen !

  • What's up with the masonic symbolism?

  • The funny thing after reading come as you are Nirvana were considered outsiders to the whole Seattle music scene until Bleach really started catching on. Nice to see outsiders breaking into the music scene on their own terms. Mundhoney however is an awesome band.

  • Doesn't he look like Kurt Cobain ?? I mean his style, music... but his sound is not like Kurt

  • @anathema199201

no, i don't think he looks like kurt at all

i mean, it's not 'cause you have eyes, ears, a mouth, a nose and long blonde hair that you look like kurt

  • Doesn't he look like Kurt Cobain ?? I mean his style, music...

  • @anathema199201 if anything, its the other way around. and its more out of idol and respect; than anyone stealing looks or sounds

  • This sounds somewhat like a 13th Floor Elevators song.

  • @God0Mighty1 the butthole surfers did an amazing cover of the song earthquake by the 13th floor elevators and the sound is kind of similar to blinding sun. it's on their humpty dumpty album

  • @honeyflymusic ok, Thanks for that, I'll check that out. I found out since I said that that the Elevators were actually an influence on them, and that's always a good thing because Elevators they're really one of the greatest of all time up there the Beatles I think ( better I think ) and Elvis and all the greats of all time like Bing Crosby and so forth.

  • fuckin a first class....

  • i love Mark Arm..there i said it !

  • I wish grunge would come back

  • @SOADfan2011 Grunge is here, but not in fashion. It´s good because you can´t see too much poseurs

  • @SOADfan2011 Look up a band called violent soho :D it's on the uprise

  • I LIKE IT!!!

  • im a huge mudhoney fan but i dont like this song to pop no grunge, cuz this is there later shit wen grunge was about t die

  • i thought that was Kurt cobain but i realised it wasnt when the singer played guitar righty not lefty!

  • Comment removed

  • This song has this Beavis and Butthead aesthetic to it. It's like, the definition of a Beavis and Butthead song.

  • Comment removed

  • They forgot to set a piano player in this video!

  • IT CALLS GRUNGE NOT NIRVANA STYLE

  • dammit beavis this band is gay turn it

  • Why fans take wars that musicians never took? So damn music intelectuals, Nirvana or Muddhoney would never fight for a the first place in music or grunge

  • que gran cancion y que gran grupo

    viva el grunge!

  • This song is tasty.

  • Just like to point out here exactly how AWESOME Dan Peters is - just listen to the drums, they could kill you with how good they are...

And Mark Arm is HILARIOUS - this video could've made even a phenomenal song like this boring, were it not for him...

  • just because theyre both scruffy looking blond dudes doesnt mean they look the same

  • is it just me or does the lead singer look like kurt cobain?

  • @sialuab not at all

  • @sialuab

or kurt cobain looks like the lead singer.

  • one of the guitarists looks like ben shepard from soundgarden

  • mudhoney is ead..and looks nothing like kurt to me..arm has a nose!

  • Mark Arm was singing for Green River before that too...So he was very influential.
