  • As a Canadian I can say that I have access to any doctor and specialist or hospital I want. I can tell you that in Canada you can even have abortion for free, just show your health card.

Yes there are wait times but it largely depands on the doctor and their booking practices (if you have appt) or how busy is the hospital (when you go in to emergency).

I can tell you that my daughter sees a specialist regularly and the wait time is 5-10 minutes. Her paediatrician (10-15 minutes).

  • if the us wanted single payer they could do it easy the uk did it in 1948 and it did it in 6 months the insurance companys are vampires feeding off the blood of every american

  • hick hick, socialized hick hick communism hick hick

  • The advantage of Private Health Insurance is that you have choice and competition and that the people not the Government decide where they get their Health Insurance and Health Care.

  • @FRSFreeStateES you have to be a republican and a teabagger

  • @FRSFreeStateES the advantage is that you have a choice to pay the insurance companies every penny you have and then deny you health care that you need. Or you can choose Health Care Reform that is in effect right now and helping millions.

  • @MsDaisy201

Not with the Affordable Care Act, because now there's a thing called the Patient Bill of Rights in America. That regulates Health Insurers to stop and punish their abuses.

  • People who don't what this because they will lose out on their money

  • the letters obama reads everyday...but he didnt even know there was a couple hundred thousand people outside his office protesting taxes and his style of government takeover?.funny, He's a bullshit artist, sad but true

  • why suck u to these insurance companies bankrupt the bastards and re direct the money to system that works for the people not some wall street wanker are we going have to have a relvolution to bring back democracy in this country

  • I worked for WellPoint, the largest insurer in the world, that owns companies you think are competitors: Aetna, Blue Cross and others. I also worked for Kaiser. My employers gloated over their bonuses and company-wide profits, even as they sent letters of denials to their customers and raised their premiums.

They don't care about you, they just want your money. It's cheaper for them to scare you with a boogey-man, than to cover you.

We need to kick their butts OUT of our lives.

  • @OrmEmber absolutely! But don't turn us over to the federal government either for the love of God.

  • Thank Bill for you invaluable show

  • We don't need a gradual shift but a total paradigm shift in the way we care for each other in this country...

    The time is now!

    Support HR 676!

  • Did Obama say the health issue is not about him?

    OK

But is the Health Care issue about his wife and chidren and his chidren's children?

Yep... they are, as all of us, is about us.

Michelle Obama is from Chicago... she must understand that all the people in her old neighborhood need health care... same affordable care across the board.

    Support HR 676!

  • never

  • Michael Steele: The "overseer"

  • The irony is that after 2 administrations of absolute failure the republicans are still claiming they can steer this country thru the mess they created. This is about giving the public a choice and in essence stop the soaking of the american people by the insurance industry.

  • Comment removed

  • 40 milion US uninsured citizens and US bailed out economy really need a National Health Care (Singol Payer) founded by progressive tax (not flat tax) on the capital gains.

  • @oddcoupple

okay, start the civil war, comrade??

us gun loving rednecks are ready, are you??

  • @ObamaIsMyButtBoy....I'll have you praying, babushka. I'll have you seeing God.

  • In order to get a single payer system, the Republican party would have to be marginalized much more than it is now. Congress would have to be Democratic through and through; and, the influential health insurance and pharma lobby would have to be weakened along with this. Right now, we just aren't at that point yet. So, to suggest that Obama go down fighting in an effort to kill private insurance is wrong. Why expend all of his political capital on that.

  • We must start over again and head toward a single payer system. Obama knows this. But, politically, it is untenable. Any President who fights for a single payer system will be a president who is crippled in the process. Of course, we could have a discussion focusing on health care elsewhere (i.e., the Netherlands or France). But, we don't. The Republican calculus has worked because we rehash the same fighting words. Single payer systems work but that truth can't get out.

  • If this country goes to universal healthcare paid for by tax dollars, America will no longer be a country about freedom and the pursuit of the American dream but a country about entitlements and how to continue to pay for them. Americans will have less choice not only in healthcare but in every other part of your life.

  • They will use healthcare cost to tax as much away from you to live your life as they can get away with. They will increase taxes on the type of foods you want eat and the type of things you want to do that they consider dangerous. You saw this with the smoking issue and just like with smoking once politicians get the money for the taxes to enhance and maintain their power you will never be able to reverse it.

  • Because freedom is staying at a crappy job rather than starting your own business because you can't be without health insurance. Freedom is being uninsurable once you have a condition and losing all your life's work. Freedom is the lowest life expectancy in the develope dworld and the highest child death rate. Go libertarians!

  • fjardim14, The losing your life's work point is the only reason why I would support a universal healthcare program. Do you actually know the difference between the US and the top country life expectancy? It's about 2 years 78 to 80 and it has more to do with lifestyle than access to healthcare. The other things you mention apply to people in that situation not to every American which is exactly what those taxes will do pay for the program. You will have slower growth & higher unemployment.

  • We pay twice (2x) as much as the number 1 system in the world to be number 37 in health outcomes. We are right above Costa Rico.

  • There is no such thing as FREEDOM!!! When will everyone realize that?

  • Say that after you get sick and lose all your savings and your house and end up still sick but living out on the streets. Ahh, that is freedom buddy.

  • I have relatives in Canada and England and their health care is not 'rationed' because the government pays. The representatives speaking against socialized care have no real clue what they are saying. They need to travel more and see with their own eyes that there is nothing to fear. Let's fix the big pharma problems - their power is a great factor in this fight. Let's fix the greed of insurance companies. Let's end the mass profitization of health care.

  • First off, If the government is so inefficient with handling healthcare, then why are the insurance companies scared to compete ? It should be an easy battle right ? It's very simple; Americans cant afford a profit driven system that directly effects their health. Sick people, whether they have insurance or not are eventually going to go to the doctor, and they will get treated. Someone has to pay for that. A government system simple puts a pricetag on what we are already paying for.

  • Finally somebody who understands this. We ALREADY pay a percentage in our taxes to assist people w/o health insurance, we will just now know how much.

  • Private insurance sounds like a really good thing . . . until your claim gets denied (after you have paid into the "system" for years) at a time you finally really need it. Then you may feel like me. THEY don't have a right to a say in this issue. They are the insurance conglomerates. This is not an issue about a free enterprise being socialized. It's about our lives being controlled by greed and waste liars. Private health Insurance is insane.

  • Hey Master of You-What happens when your employer stops paying for half your insurance coverage because they can't afford to pay it anymore?

  • Near the end. [Single payer] "...it could be done gradually"

Well it can't be done at this time, no one will vote for it. What we do have is what will have to do. Good to hear a smart discussion on this.

  • Single payer universal health care is not socialized medicine. It is health care payment system, not a health care delivery system. Health care providers would be in fee for service practice, and would not be employees of the government, which would be socialized medicine. Single payer health care is not socialized medicine, any more than the public funding of education is socialized education, or the public funding of the defense industry is socialized defense

  • Ah--well said, sir. Clearly spoken.

  • "or the public funding of the defense industry is socialized defense"

    - would make sense... unless you forget that explicitly written in the Constitution it reads:

"To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States".

oh yeah..... that pesky ol' thing called the Constitution.

  • these insurance CEOs are denying rightful claims that kill dozens of americans a day!!!!! They make pp fear obama in order to protect their huge and expanded profits, continuing this pay-or-die system that has plagued this country for decades, a system that takes 20,000 lives a year, according to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Thats about fifty to sixty people who die every day. OR nationalized healthcare where the CEO and his greed are cut out of the equation.

  • Comment removed

  • soooo nationalized healthcare where the CEO and his greed are cut out of the equation or decisions made by rich greedy CEO's who continue to do nothing to help the americans that have lost their jobs due to rich greedy CEO's

  • Where are all thses people who say there happy with there private health insurance companies?

Im getting sick and tired of having my cost of living raise every year get eaten up by higher premiums. Its like there getting my raise instead of me. And last January i was forced to quit seeing my family doctor because he isn't in there plan any more. Also i used to have 300 dollar deductable now its 1000 dollar deductable. And i'm afraid its only gonna get worse.

  • well I cannot imagine what kind of b/s insurance you have, my dr co-pay is 20 and hospital is 50, i just had an mri that was fully covered by the 20 dr co-pay, and my insurance costs 200 a month my part split with employer, so 400 a month for my family, of which I pay 100 every two weeks, and well worth every dime, so, maybe you aughtta shop more, or get a clue?.just goggle canadian healthcare disasters and pray we dont end up like that.and just say no to the paid obama spammers.

  • I got Capital Health Plan and they are the best in Florida..their premiums have been going up, but the City for who I work covered in the increasing premium rated difference, but that will change in the new fiscal year...the employees will have to cover that burden.

    Your co-pay is very low.

Who is your health coverage plan thru??

Do you work for an government entity??

  • United health

  • I get my insurance threw my employer, and not far from here a major employer is Waupaca foundry. Last year the quit offering health insurance to their employees

  • "Now the government wants to bring Canadian style healthcare to the U.S."

We have great healthcare in Canada. Lower premiums than the United States, and our premiums cover all of our costs - no co-payments or deductibles. (OK, sometimes there are nominal deductibles, like $30 for crutches).

No having to pay out of our own pocket because our insurance company denies claims. No having to get pre-approval for an operation or treatment from some private, for-profit insurance company.

  • Critics of the Canadian Health Care claim that there are long waits and they have to come to the US for their illness..how true is that???

  • Sure there are longer waits in some cases, but less than 1 in 1000 Canadians seeks care in the U.S.

    "Phantoms in the Snow":

    [ tinylink ] [ dot ] [ com ] /?zgOnjPeWhP

Of course there are going to be longer waits when 100% of the population has insurance. In the US nearly 100 million aren't insured, or are underinsured. So they aren't even in line. Hence, the lines for those with adequate insurance are shorter, while the others do without.

  • there are several videos of the imfamous candian health care right here on you tube, just take a look, have yet to see ONE that is proud of it...or can you show me one>?

  • Search "Canadians talk to Americans about health care" on youtube.

Also Canada isn't the only country with Universal health care. most modern countries cover all of its citizens.

  • "Canadian healthcare: Fact vs. fiction"

    Is another.

  • The only reason the insurance industry is so powerful is because we keep giving them our money. If we stop giving them our money, they die. Use their own system against them.

  • "the problem is not the money, it's the system"

Right on. Time for Medicare for all of us.

  • I'm sorry Republicans but this is not 1993. It's 2009 and times have changed. You will not stop the reform this time around!

  • Amazing how these repugies will outright LIE! Watching now and couldn't help to comment. We are lied to so much. People die in our waiting rooms. People die because they resist going to the doctor because they can't afford to. Even upper middle class children get sick and sometimes die because child care workers lack health care, and can't take time off so they come to work ill! Our sick society costs us all dearly.

  • We need campaign finance reform to break the hold big buisness has on our elected officials.

Also lobbiests should be banned from washington...

  • Obama seems like hes selling out to the insurance and pharma industries. So far hes given the industry everthing they want and thats why they"re on his side. And i voted for him cause he said he was going to bring real health care reform to this country. I feel betrayed...

  • Obama had to get some insurance and pharma industries on his side due to all the resistance from conservatives..have u seen the angry people at the town hall meetings??

  • I wonder how many less angry people there would be if not for Palin's "death panel" comments. That's like shouting fire in a crowded theatre. She should face criminal charges, or at the very least a lawsuit for those comments.

  • Not just Conservatives...

  • thank god we have obama.

    I hate all this manipulation.

  • Hell Yeah!!!

  • The problem is, the pharma pharmaceutical industry got the politicians by the testicles.

During this vid the MD said it many times the word "POWER"... what was she talking about???? They, the big CEO'S of the pharmaceutical control the law makers of the USA.

The only way to change this, the American ppl must fight to the end and mandate for a true change. What's important on this reform is your HEALTH and nothing other matters. FIGHT!!!!

  • You have 2 parties, both are corrupt. Maybe its time the average Joe got into politics? Maybe its time to have the right to recall your representatives and question them if they vote against the wishes of their Constituents and even the right to have them thrown out of office, eliminate the lobbyists and outlaw corporate campaign contributions.

  • I'm so sick of the Republican Whores we have in congress and on Fox news......every time i see a (R) by their name i think retard

  • 28 minutes and zero opposing view points... WTG PBS.

  • The ladies are right! I am not sure that the concessions that Marcia Angell is talking about at the end of the video will work, either, as they had said before, the sickest will opt for the gov't run healthcare, and the older people get, the more they are in need of healthcare. I was also glad to see that they addressed the problem with being under-insured and having enormous deductibles. Great video! As for Obama, if we want to see single-payer pass, we must support him in his efforts.

  • WINDOW TREATMENT:

Our windows are sick- just like US

they need HR676 - just like US

give them a healthy dose of HR676 PUT a HUGE SIGN up for HR676 on your front door in your windows, in your car windows.

  • DennyMclain is NOT spot on 'on everything BUT he is right about the fed ,look up---- ZIEGIEST--------- ON YOUTUBE TO LEARN THE TRUTH ,

  • Obama needs to grow a set of balls and confront the insurance companies and crooked politcians that are blocking the will of the people. Unfortunately, he lacks courage and will probably go down to defeat.

    Sad.

  • The Public needs to grow a set of brains and get out and support what is right. Single- PAYER!!!!

  • true, but to denounce it, just who is this "single payor"? lols, its the working people, and what happens to the billions trillions owed to medicare and social security if the vote this in?.why.who needs medicare when the government gives you health care for free?.now that is what they are after, they set up medicare, and stole the money over the years, and no can fix all that by talking people into letting them run the whole show...anyone who believes that is simply foolish

  • You are right single payer has been demonized too much for that pass.

  • Tax payers are paying for the uninsured already. Every time one of them goes to emergency because they dont have acsess to a regular doctor.

  • Theres enough money in the system aready...31% of every health care dollar spent has nothing to do with health care .Its for unnecessary administative costs. If we eliminate insurance companies that money would be enough to extend health care to everone with no additional cost.

  • Wake up people! Were being lied to by polititians who are in the pocket of the insurance and pharma industries, who they receive milloions of dollars from...Congress is working for big buisness instead of the people who elected them .

  • restrict cures? what do you think private healthcare is doing? hell if everybody got the "cure", healthcare would lose money. why cure people when you can keep them chronically ill and reap the profits. thats why we cant find a cure for cancer or aids, hell all that money would be lost

  • I want to see it published how many stock investments these 'so-called' loyal American Republicans own. I'm sure they have a fortune invested in Managed Health Care companies.

People are DYING as we speak due to having no health care or limited, minimum health care available due to being working class.

    Republicans are just stalling.

There needs to be a total BAN on the privatization of health care at all levels.

No more Managed Care thieves making money on suffering.

  • its not just the republicans, not just the blue dogs, not just the moderate democrats, but the liberal democrats too.

  • Single payor can work here. Problem is, in this country, most people are brainwashed into thinking it can't. Look at it like an insurance company does. The bigger the "group" the smaller the premium. All Americans are a big group. One company canno't provide that as it will be seen as a monopoly. We need to see this as a right, or a service provided by the Government. It DOES work in other countries. But fighting over it will never get it done. We need to get over being closed minded.

  • If you ask me American politicians aren't getting paid enough to crush this socialized healthcare.

Cigna etc are multi-billion dollar businesses. They're telling politicians to vote against it but not sharing that wealth. They could afford to pay millions for those prescious votes.

  • The following Senators have taken millions from the Health Care Industry & are in the pocket of the HEALTH INSURANCE LOBBY & are working for them as lobbyists in Congress (they should be registered).

They will never support a REAL public option.

Work to have them defeated in their next election:

    Nelson - D - Neb

    Vitter - R - La

    Lincoln - D - Ark

    Burr - R - Burr

    Liberman - I/D - Ct

    Graham - R - SC

  • Bravo DillionX!!! Great job!!! You are a TRUE American.

    Keep fighting!

  • Well it works in other countries, why not the greatest country in the world?

  • Nothing else has worked so I say affordable health care by next year. Can anyone else get us health care ...don't think so.

  • Just say no to gov run health care. It's a scam. The more gov gets involved, the higher the cost, the more regulated the service. It happens in everything the gov sticks its proverbial fingers intol

  • I'm surprised, I'm actually reading quite a few intelligent, informed comments on YouTube for this video. It's a welcome change of pace from the typical "Obama is a sociaalist dirtbaggg!" and "let's c his birth certificat.....he aint even an american...that damn negro! now hes socializing medicine, COMMIEEE!!"

Keep up the intelligent discourse! Unfortunately, America is full of extremely stupid people. Right-wingers avidly support corporatist policies which only hurt them. Fools.

  • Very interesting discussion. I agree totally that US has an attitude problem when it comes to looking other countries for role model. The basic concept that US is the greatest nation in every sense makes it very difficult to convince people that maybe things work isnt the best way afterall. Ads saying "you dont want canadian or european health care, do you?" are really arrogant and ignorant. I mean, why would you not want a healthcare that is effective, cheap, covers every citizen and works?

  • Insurance companies are like middle men skimming money out of the system and limiting choices and care. What suprises me is that a single payer not for profit system is not even on the table or being discussed.medicare could be expanded to cover everyone and it can be paid for by cutting say 10% off the top of the military budget

  • Are you deaf, dumb and blind or just the first two. Massachussets Care and Medicare are single payer government run health systems and they both are going broke! Hawaii's single-payer system lasted about nine months. Get semi-real!

  • Medicare is govt run health care and it works just fine.

  • The problem with the Mass plan was that it forced you into buying private insurance. The Mass plan was in no way a socialized system. It was basically auto insurance for health.

  • skyiblue - I'm afraid you're right.

What the insurance companies are working to get passed is not a REAL public option, but a law that will make the govt purchase health insurance from them for those who don't have it -- THUS MAKING BILLIONS MORE.

Two of the leading lobbyists for the INSURANCE COMPANIES are Democratic Sen Nelson of Neb & Libermann of CT - please never forget this AND VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE NEXT TIME!

  • Soon, people are going to stop listening to anything the RepubliKKKans say. When they are not lying they are speaking nonsense, or opposing something they supported when they were in power, or supporting something they opposed when they were in power. They will say anything to oppose the Democrats. More and more people are seeing this and ignoring the GOP. At this point, even when they are right nobody will listen, because they are so full of crap they lost all credibility.

  • This fight will get WORSE before it gets better. Trust me. This blood thirsty money hungry insurance industry is going to fight dirty and throw millions if not BILLIONS at this issue to stop it at all costs.

  • We need to get some official way, state by state, to poll the people and see how many people would want some type of tax funded plan, how many don't, and how many just don't know enough about a single-payer type plan to make a decision yet. These numbers then need to get sent directly to the Representatives of each state to show them what the majority of the voters want and then act on it. They are aupposed to be representing what the people want after all, not what rich companies want!!

  • The GOP must put up a good candidate to defeat Democratic Senator Nelson of Nebraska.

Dem Sen Nelson has taken a ton of money from the Insurance company lobbies & is in their pockect.

We need a good GOP candidate who'll beat him and work for THE AMERICAN PUBLIC & not THE INSURANCE COMPANIES.

  • I dont think going from one extreme to another is going to neccesarliy to make the problem any better. Pure socialism is no better than pure capitalism, in my opinion.

Going from an extremely captalistic system to an extremely socialist system just doesnt seem logical.

What has made America so successful for so long is that fact that we kind of stradle the fence when it comes to our economic system. We're not too capitalistic yet not too socialist. Single payer is just too drastic.

  • We've been extremely Capitalistic since the 1880's(really 1850's).....Gilded Age ring a bell?

Unless of course you don't count imperialism as Capitalism.....

The people rose up before, we had mayors like Tom Johnson and presidents like Kennedy. In the end, our health care(or lack thereof) boils down to money and profit.

  • No, America has never been a pure capitalist country. The Gilded Age was known for its laissez-faire economic policies BUT unfair bussiness practices eventually lead to increased regulation.

Social security, Medicare, Medicaid, Bank Bailouts? Those programs werent derived from "extremely" capitalitstic principles.

America's economy is a bit more on the capitalist side but we have never been purelyl free enterprise nor completely socialist. For the most part, we have stradled the fence.

  • Im not sure that converting to a single payer system is the best thing for America. Just because the system works in foriegn countries doesnt neccesarily mean It will work here.

I beleive that these women women have legitamete concerns with a public option system that keeps the private insurance agencies intact but I dont know if completely erradicating the current capitalistic system is right for America. The governement should try to work with it.

  • I dont think that what these women are saying is 100% accurate.

Ok, under this healthcare bill, healthcare coverage will be mandated but the people that are uninsured will have the OPTION of being covered under the GOVERNMENT RUN SYSTEM. Not everyone is going to flock to the private health insurance companies to seek coverage, actually the majority of them probably WONT which is why most private insurance companies are against this reform......

  • Insurance companies want mandatory coverage because it means more business for them.

Insurance companies do not want a government plan to compete with.

  • Mandatory coverage doesnt neccesarily mean more bussiness for them. I can guarentee you the majority of the uninsured will want free ,governement run healthcare rather than overpriced private health insurance. But even if there is a slight uptick in business for them they will still have to compete with a government run plan. So in a sense the the system is kept in equilbrium.

I personally beleive the public option is a good compromise between capitalism and socialism. Im 100% behind it.

  • America is not longer successful at making cars. We are pretty good at making drugs (big pharma). Now everyone is trying to legalize weed and tax that. We are a country of drug addicts.

Single payer sounds good but I don't think it will ever happen. There are too many assholes in America who would only care about the failure of Obama so they can get the WH back and torment the world with their religion.

  • The uninsured do not get mammagrams at ALL. It is far to wait in line to get one than not get one at ALL surely...

  • Blue chip democrats

  • thanks mike

  • What's the PSA at 3:23?

    Hilarious.

Because Canada is such a terrifying threat.

  • "It's not going to add to the deficit"

    "Single payer"

    Liberal mantras

  • To the redneck Republican Congressman that claims that "socialized medicine" is deadly, he refuses to realizes that the failed market based approach to healthcare (as it is in America) is the one which is a deadly model. Private health insurance has killed 5 times as many people in one year than a load of piece shit Saudi Arabians did one morning called 9-11.

  • They're not Blue Dog democrats...

    They're BLUE CROSS democrats.

    get with the times, man...

  • antifaith - you're right -- they aren't Blue Dog Democrats ... they're Blue Cross Democrats.

Democrats LIberman of Ct & Nelson of Neb are not so much members of the Senate now as they are lobbyist for the Health Insurance Industry. They've received MANY MILLIONS FROM THE HEALTH INDUSTRY.

We must have a single payer system - BUT NOT THE PRESENT BARACK PROPOSAL.

  • Profit taking and health care never got along. One payer system is the only way. Take the profiteers out of the equation. It's the only way to make it work. Also, make sure the docs are salaried. If they are still fee-for-service, they will not be able to keep cost down. Right now, in Canada, there is a mix of salaried and fee for service and the results are in, salaried works. Big problem is docs/nurses/technicians can go on strike when they want to bring the gov to it's knees.

  • As a citizen of Canada and formerly of Bermuda I haven't known anything but socialized medicine , its not the evil system that lobbyists and republicans make it out to be. I can't understand why the gov't wouldn't want everyone to have easy access to health care no matter your income .I've never had a problem with the Canadian health care system and consider myself lucky to live in a country where I don't have to worry if I have enough money or the right insurance to get the care I might need.

  • Obama will not do anything. He's become a "car's salesman". After seeing how the media acts, I do believe Obama is president only because he is a "Media Pre-Approved President." - sadly. Check out the "halo" like text appearing on top of the lady's head in the commercial shown on Min. 13. After hearing the representative talk on min. 18, I see that for these guys the concept of being "a human being" only applies to those "that matter" not to every american. Obama: Please use "common sense"

  • I am A LITTLE confused as to WHY people are TYPING every few WORDS in ALL CAPS? Do you think it makes your comment EASIER TO READ?

  • We need Sarah Palin as President RIGHT NOW instead of Obambi for she will SQUASH all healthcare reforms. She will ensure that healthcare remains COMPLETELY privatized. If any lowly male politician tries to cross Palin will reform, SHE WILL UNLEASH THE WRATH OF GOD HERSELF onto the poor minion and REVEAL HIS PUSSY for the WHOLE WORLD to see! Palin will also make Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security privatized as well. She will eliminate all liberal government programs to reduce spending.

  • We're not getting a single payer system no matter how badly we want it. Congress sucks and the Senate sucks! They get excellent health care and the American Citizen gets shit. I say we vote all of them out of office. They don't deserve to represent us and they should be fired.

  • Collegeman1988- You say vote hem out of office. It wont make any difference. Our whole polical system is corrupt. The wealthy, and the corporations, will never concedethat power. They would rather see our country destroyed , than have decent health care for all. That is there fear of losing control over us. The only change is revolution, now. Thomas jefferson said" The tree of liberty must be fed with the blood of tyrants and few generations. There many tyrants in Washington, We need a revolution,

  • HR676 is the ONLY WAY CREATES 2.4 Million Jobs ! They are all PAID OFF to SHUT OFF HR 676 One Mill a Day BCBS of Tn pays to Stop and Kill us all They Need More of Our Money ! INSANITY ! GREED ! REVOLT AMERICA !

  • Thank you for posting this video. It was very enlightening. Now how do I become a Norwegian citizen? Anyone know a good website to learn Norwegian? The United States sucks.

  • Steele is a fucking idiot

  • no, he's a puppet. Bill Kristol and Rush Limbaugh have their hand up his ass

  • WE MUST CONFRONT THE PRIVATE PROFITEERING INSURANCE INDUSTRY. I am so tired of voting for a politician, only so that I can watch them change their agenda. A SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM is the ONLY SOLUTION. I said, THE ONLY SOLUTION. Work it out on your own, IT IS THE ONLY WAY. Barak Obama HIMSELF said this in the first minute of his speech. PLEASE, for the love of all that still exists American, CONFRONT THE INSURANCE COMPANIES NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • right on!!!:)

  • I've seen some strange arguments. "1 out of 5 die in line!?" What awful country would that be, North Korea?

Here in Sweden we have some queue for non-emergency health care, worst are the hip replacements with a queue-time of up to 9 months. But everyone get one and no one will go bankrupt over such an operation.

  • It's high-quality care to, just last week they flew in a UK citizen with swine flu for highly specialised so called "extra corporeal membrane oxygenation"-treatment. There are routinely heart transplant operations done here to.

The thing that's strange is that countries that do provide universal coverage, does so at lower cost. The Swiss and the Austrian is probably even better than the Swedish system, they have no significant queues what so ever.

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Thats not true, people in those countries are largly very happy with their health care systems. We have longer waits here in the US...The longest wait of all is for people with no insurance ,they dont get any care at all. Those other countries you talk about also have a lower infant mortalityu rate than us and people live longer on average than in the US

  • Obama doesn't say HOW the system he proposes will be better than canada/britain? HOW is it going to be DIFFERENT from their systems? Because the REALLY SICK people in those countries that are on lists for healthcare come to America and PAY to get treatment. Apparently you can't even PAY to get immediate treatment in canada or Britain?

I think this is another of those ongoing issues that will NEVER be resolved and will ALWAYS be an arguing point between dems and reps (they are really the same)

  • Obama a imperial president compared to Bush. NOT. Bush was imperial.

  • Bush was an imperial asshole.

  • Yeah, Dubya was an imperialist asshole. He is Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin is a SUPERIOR politician and statesman than Dubya and will be a SUPERIOR POTUS than he was. Dubya wears the skirt in his family while Laura and the twins wear the pants!

  • 2 years ago I broke my ankel. I

had to pay 250 kroner ($50) for a pair of crutches. The rest was paid for by the government because in Norway we all have to pay health care tax. They who do not have a job or cant pay tax get the same health care anyway simply because thats the fair thing to do.

  • It will be a miracle if we ever get a system in the United States that is so humane, so fair, and so logical. Even with overwhelming Democratic majorities in Congress and a Democrat in the White House, the conservatives still control the agenda. (The problem is the Blue Dog Democrats who side with Republicans.)

  • I would love to see true progressives beat these blue dog conservative Democrats in their respective Democratic primaries. And speaking of Blue Dog Democrats, I wish President Obama would fire Rahm Emanuel as White House Chief of Staff. God, I hate that guy.

  • Democrats are on the take from the insurance companies just as much as republicans...I wonder if Obama is bought and paid for by the special interests also???

  • Obama has taken over a million dollars from the health insurance companies and Pharma to.

  • The Insurance and Drug companies will fight this one Long and Hard...

Unfortunately conning people is still big business(penis enlargement anyone?).

Of Course they will put profit over The People.

It's A Shame so many FOOLS are buying into the propaganda of big business(Fascism) and the republicans that support it.

  • BCBS is spending 1 mill a day against HR676 Univer.Health care Demint is in the toilet ! OBAMA ROCKS MY WORLD !

  • i cant believe how anti-social some people are. Imagine for a second that the police force wasnt social, that you had to pay to find the criminal who stole your tv, or you had to pay the fire dept to put out your house.

Some programs need to be public paid, health care is one.

  • Conclusion: Retardicans do not want good health care for americans.

  • Correct. Retardicans want HMOs to make money. They don't care about people. They care about money.

They aren't Christians. Christians believe in the prophet, peace be upon him. The republicans believe in the profits and how to get a piece of them.

  • It's not just the Retardicans. It's the corporate-paid for Dumbocrats, who call themselves "blue dogs."

Heck, even our supposedly "liberal and progressive" president isn't for what we really need.

    Single-payer is the only solution.

  • One thing can be for sure - the Republican always have the best interests of others in mind.. YEAH, RIGHT!

  • They do. Other rich people.

  • Denny, Denny, Denny, you wouldn't know a Communist if he shared his lunch with you. Health care is a RIGHT of most of the advanced and civilized nations on this Earth. But of course, conservatives like you have a pretty poor view of human rights and a pretty good record of bawling like fatass Southpark character Eric Cartman when nobody respects your "authoriteh."

  • i would if the commie opened his mouth and spewed nonsense like youre doin'.

you young punks have no idea what you are falling for... let me ask you this: do you feel scammed by obama's fake anti-war stance? oh crap.. let me get back to you i hear a drone over my house. (innocent civilians will be killed soon)

  • He is trying to withdraw from Iraq without causing the whole of Iraq collapsing into anarchy.

  • yeah.. and escalating the build up in Afghanistan? while killing innocent civilians in pakistan with drone bombers?

    THERE'S YOUR CHANGE STUPID!!!

  • Denny, Denny, Denny, how dare you change the subject? What does Obama's supposed anti-war stance has to do with health care? And it's a shame I ain't flying that drone tonight, because there's a GOP headquarters that needs to be taken down tonight ;)

  • it proves he is a filthy loiar that works for Goldman Sachs. are you stupid? how can a semi intelligent person not see this? hello mcflyyyyyy

  • Considering you can't spell worth beans, I'd be careful about throwing around that semi-intelligent tag, buddy ;)

  • just a few typos. are you the spell check police? look loser... just because i didn't reread my comments for typos has nothing to do with your stupidity when it comes to following some fat fake like MM. the guy's agent is rahm emanuel's brother ... and every movie he makes is anti- free enterprise or constitution.

the fatso is a marxist ... if you like him and defend his big butt then you are too. that being the case go fk yourself you filth.

  • The last resort of an illiterate wingnut: Name calling :)

And there we have it folks. This is the kind of person who would refuse you health care. He's not man enough to go out and kick some cripple to the curb by himself, he wants our government to do it for him.

Just wait until he gets the sniffles one day ;)

  • actually you have no idea what i support. what i don't support is govt run healthcare. ask the native americans how that turned out. they say on the reservations you better get sick before June cause when the money runs out so does your care.

but i guess sandal boy froths for native americans dying. that is his standard bearer forget the soviet model, this guy is a hardcore eugenicist.

want eye surgery? not if you are too old.. they consider that wasteful. i mean who wants to see anyways huh?

  • Why don't you ask our senators and our congressmen about their government-run health care? More often than not they've stated it's the best in the world ;)

  • yes.. special care for the lords... and native american care for us serfs huh? well that is communism for ya. can't really see where you are going with this other than you are an idiot that thinks failed ideologies are nifty.

  • Failed ideologies? Capitalism and the free market are killing the damned planet! So whose the idiot here? Not I. :)

  • lmao you're kidding right? THE FED, illegal started in 1913 is what has killed this economy. wall street bankers. you know.. the ones that financed hitler and stalin, have ruined the economy... THIS IS NOT FREE ENTERPRISE. this is an Oligarchy run by mobsters.

they own Obama and the democrats have been under the tutelage of marxists for 70 yrs almost.

people, we will never win if you all can't start thinking logically for yourselves instead of parroting the mainstream media's propaganda.

  • and please don't tell me you think carbon is killing the planet. if so then will you please stop exhaling... cause you are bloviating some serious fumes.

  • 15:12 "Deathgrip": It's simple, if the insurance companies are so sure that Obama's proposal are worst & more expensive than theirs, they would not be campaigning or sending their high caliber lobbyist against it.
