  • such memories, even if i didnt do any quests... exploring and getting new armor and weapons and leveling was just as fun... this music made it all a far more rewarding experience

  • I feel sad... I have to wait another 4 years for the next game

  • Thumbs up if you think they should make a remake of morrowind! But only change the graphics, not the soundtrack. Or just make morrowind except for the xbox 360 so you can get acheivments that would be sick

  • @SplinteredX There is a mod for PC that makes the graphics look really really good. If I'm not mistaken it's called Morrowind Overhaul: sound and graphics. Requires a powerhouse of a PC but it's worth it. :)

  • I seriously am crying. The memories from this game.. ugh.

  • ..maybe they can make the next elder scrolls game be in morrowind, again. we miss morrowind lol

  • I think this is my favorite song from the whole game. great game.

  • Morrowind > Skyrim. Nothing will ever beat Morrowind.

  • morrowind was a masterpiece, oblivion looks more like the little annoying cousin of morrowind, kinda funny of course, but it will never can keep up with morrowind. but of course i have both ;D

  • Like everythingman said below me, why didn't they put this in skyrim like they put the other song in

  • WHY COULDN'T THEY PUT THIS IN SKYRIM? ARGHHHH

  • Sorry Oblivion, but Compared to Morrowind? You really just...Sucked man

  • I so want to hear a piano cover of this song.

  • 1:20 what's that place? I don't remember where it is

  • @malkinlove

Given the size of the ruins and the fact it's surrounded by grey rocks, it might be Mzuleft (just a bit south of Dagon Fel village) or Nchuleftingth (deep in Molag Amur region).

  • N'WAH!

  • remember holidays 7 years ago:) my friend came to me at 12pm and we played till midnight everyday:) hahah it was so cool when he became a vampire and we didn't know what happened to him:):):) times when having an connection to internet was a rare thing ahhh:))

  • people dont realise that Morrowind and oblivion are from a different year... You can only compair an game if you have played both when they came out.

For me Morrowind has the best atmosphere :)

  • This song brings back too many memories. No, seriously, TOO many memories. It HURTS. Stop it.

  • Morrowind has a soul... Oblivion doesn't.

  • gonna play this one in summer :P this is my tradition, elder scroll is my tradition! ;o

  • To me Morrowind has a better atmospher then Oblievein,Becuse Oblievein is just a hack and slash game rather then Morrowind is more a feel of adventure.

PS Nord for life becuse i have some feature of being like a real life nord.

  • What a great game - and this is such beautiful music.

    - this has made me want to play Morrowind again.

  • My, I haven't seen a outlander in such a grand outfit, what do you need?

  • This is just my opinion, but I never could get into Morrowind. I liked Oblivion much better (and I played the game in the lowest, fullbright settings btw since my computer can't handle it very well). Morrowind had different statues, artifacts, and buildings and came with a pretty big novel. Nothing more. Oblivion was much more VIDEO GAME-like even w/o full graphics. Adding a more colorful atmosphere (not the graphics) and voices. It was 2006, video games shouldn't require players to read novels.

  • The Elder Scrolls game would have made a kickass MMORPG

  • 1 person took the Road least traveled.

  • A road most traveled indeed

  • Two days ago i finished Oblivion for a second time. But now i think it's the best moment to reinstall Morrowind!

  • Am I the only one who always imagines the sound of doors creaking while listening to the Morrowind soundtrack?

  • Oblivion tries to hard to be perfect. Morrowind is the best RPG ever! Thumbs up for Morrowind! :D

  • I love the night sky in both Morrowind and Oblivion. Their both are so surreal and magical.

  • The elder scrolls series are the best games evar ! :D

i have played and loved every singel one of them

though morrowind is my favorite <3 hehe

  • Also, Oblivions AI is another great feature of the game. Every single character in Cyrodiil had their own daily agenda. Farm the crops, visit the market, have dinner with the wife. See Morrowind: Everyone is standing in one place, or -WATCH OUT!- walking back and forth. And did anyone else notice that NO ONE sits in that game? I mean it. There's about a thousand freaking chairs and NO ONE sits down. Ever!

Admittedly, Morrowind is my favorite game of all time. :P But it has its flaws.

  • NO ONE can deny that when Oblivion was released, its graphics were fantastic. One HUGE point that was stressed to gamers was "See this beautiful landscape? You can reach the top of that mountain way out there."

Axes are blunt weapons? Boo hoo. Is that really a dealbreaker?

Yes, the story wasn't as dramatic. But heaven forbid your character isn't the child of prophecy! Do you really want them to milk that route?

  • I personally missed those dark deadra shrines the most in Oblivion. Especially that u could find in almost every shrine something u haven't seen before. I remember when i found the deadric longbow the first time in Morrowind. Or shield of eleidon. I mean i loved playing oblivion too, but i really missed new weapons somehow. When i'm playing a game i never look up the internet before to see which items u can find where or something. But going through those ayleid ruins got more and more boring

  • ... because i couldn't find any legendary items. Only ordinary deadric weapons aso.

And all the legendary items u could find in the game were already known from morrowind.I mean i would have loved it when u finish a daedric mission and get the goldbrand or umbra, but ONLY if u did missions before and got things u haven't ever seen before.

What I'm trying to say is that in morrowind it was worth going into every cave u found, without a big reason. Oblivion only because of a mission or something!

  • i like morrowind's gameplay so much better than oblivion's, aside from the hit/miss system and.....nope, thats about it....if they ever remake morrowind with oblivion's hit/miss and maybe graphics...i think id be in heaven XD

  • Didn't that retarded cat game.. Impressive Title or whatever yoink this song?

  • Morrowind had the spirit that you can't forget. This musi and open lands. Sometimes when i hear rain in the night and i'm siting in front of my PC, it remainds me Arcadian coast.

  • morrowind is much better!

  • I wish I could erase my memory and play Morrowind for the first time again, cause I can happily replay it, but nothing compares to the first time. It's like losing your virginity...

  • damn i gotta agree. the first time you play this game it is amazing!

  • @R0BB091 Dude SO TRUE

  • I like this theme

  • the sky and the water was one of the most stunning things when it first came out they where way ahead of its time if u see now days the water isnt even as nice as these days games but damm i hope that they gonna make a new oblivion fast both games where amazing

  • Morrowind have fantastic graphic with mods compare to most 2002-2010 games, but nothing beats Oblivion

  • EPIC!

  • @xpolar1706x Other than the comments on the graphics, I agree with gallexea. Morrowind was a fuller and better put together game than oblivion is.

  • I wish the Oblivion Soundtrack was more like The Morrowind Soundtrack

  • I have an urge to make a music video with DaggerXL and this song once it gets it's 200 mile draw distance.

  • Oblivion's graphics may be good, better models and special effects and all (it would be silly to argue with that, I mean the game is like 5 years newer than its predecessor) but they look so shiny and unrealistic, almost toy-like. Probably because of its over-use of post-render effects. Morrowind's graphics aren't as sophisticated, but they look more realistic to me.

  • Morrowind remind's me cool time's when buddies where playin all that staff

  • Did you notice how all the great RPGs have great soundtracks? Arcanum, Morrowind, P:T

  • @Nebuchadnezzaurus 1st time i hear that someone else actually has played arcanum. awesome game.

  • levitation!!!!!!

  • i remember my first time arriving in the eastern ports of morrowind. i thought i had seen it all, until i came upon mushroom houses.

  • @infantryhawk same. I was deciding which house to join, so i traveled to all the houses district seats, Balmora cool, Aldruhn nice design but too many ash storms, Sadrith Mora OMG, COUNT ME IN!

  • MORROWIND ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol <3

  • oh god i have to go play this... I beat it, read thru the whole strategy guide,. and STILL there are places I havent been. Looks beautiful on your comp :)

  • oh my god! its this song! THIS FUCKING SONG!

i think i just jizzed in my pants....

  • god I remember when I first played this game it was so awesome and still is I acually never beat the main Questline but now I can't wait to get started again and finally beat it.

  • So many awesome memories :D, im super glad this popped up in my recommended box xD

  • Oblivion is mint, But Morrowind has such a different feel to it. In Morrowind, theres... just such a different sense of adventure. The game is so indepth that the more you explore it the more huge it seems to get.

And sometimes Oblivion just feels like a great big huge slashing battle.

    Morrowind FTW

  • @thehumanperson

I see what you mean, even now, just listening to the soundtrack and looking at screenshots, I can see that Morrowind holds a more "traditional" feel of adventure.

I'll tell you exactly what it is too, in Oblivion, the landscape is average lush forests and rivers through and through. In Morrowind, it seems like there's many more fantastic and odd places and sights, combined with a slightly gloomy atmosphere, where you shine bright amongst the fog of despair across the land.

  • @thehumanperson and the environment! Oblivion's is too "nowdays" styled. no gigantic mushrooms, no exotic animals, just wolwes and deers and boars....

nothing that epic what was in morrowind.

  • @thehumanperson The combat in Morrowind, although more weapons and ability to miss, is the same thing as Oblivion, hacking and smashing. Both are great in their in there own ways. I played Oblivion first and experienced it first. I like Oblivion a bit better, due to it's mod-ability and graphics, and not to mention morroblivion, a mix up of the two, and I also liked Morrowind due to it's new weapons and questline. Either way, they are both better than any game out there.

  • @thehumanperson well thats because they designed Morrowind to have a more "outlandish" feel to it. And then they returned to a more familiar design in Oblivion.. They say Skyrim will again go for the unfamiliar, and have a unique feel..

  • I like games

  • Why do people worry about what's better? They're still games, X likes Y but Z disagrees. Go back to reading reviews.

  • well. some people just dont like the direction the series is stepping in with oblivion.

  • oblivion is a great game, but morrowind is better

  • Morrowind was more epic, but hoenstly the gameplay of Oblivion is CLEARLY better.. I mean its so much easier to sort trough all your shit once you have accumulated a large spell list or inventory etc. And it looks better.. and you can block lol. But that aside, yes, morrowind is liek the best fucking rpg ever, music and all. peace and love

  • I remember being amazed by the water in this game when it first came out. Gotta love Bethesda.

  • I wasn't talking to you, which is why i clicked the reply button on gallexea's post. too bad youtube fails at organizing comments.

  • Now that Bethesda essentially already has the graphics for TES V, I suppose they can focus more on the story and gameplay.

Mods = fix for everything wrong with oblivion.

  • you n'wah!

  • I had the old xbox and it blew my mind, I have this song on my mp3 for when I go running

  • "The other thing that killed it was that the quest tab pointed you in the exact location where you were supposed to go!!! You didn't even have to gain a familiarity with Cyrodil, you just pointed and clicked!!

One of the best things about Morrowind was figuring out exactly what to do next and the thrill of the journey of actually getting there..and even better was getting sidetracked!!"

so true... but with OOO, Oblivion is a great game anyway.

  • Oblivion is not a bad game.

It's people like you who come from morrowind expecting Oblivion to have much more.

Be happy for what you get already. Oblivion is a huge game, and its graphics is what pushes it to the limit. at least now graphic whores and people who enjoy gameplay over looks can now both enjoy the game.

  • Are you perhaps a homosexual male seeking another homosexual male?

From what ive gathered that seems to be the case.

Also, oblivions graphics are all shat to hell due to the poor quality of the first strains of the havok engine. Its story sucks and AXES ARE BLUNT WEAPONS?

Give it up. Morrowind rules, Oblivion drools.

  • @xpolar1706x so those who actually enjoy the game for what it was get now traded in for a mainstream audience?

  • @xpolar1706x I agree Oblivion wasn't bad, it was just cheap.

I've been playing Morrowind for 6 years, still not sure if I've done EVERYTHING.

Took less than 11 months for Oblivion to get stale.

I've heard it said very well: Oblivion was a playground, Morrowind was a home.

  • @xpolar1706x You're implying Oblivion had any substance to appeal to anyone actually interested in gameplay, and you're incorrect in that.

Fuck pure graphic whores, and fuck you.

  • @xpolar1706x He said it was great anyways. cool your jets Adoring Fan.

  • @xpolar1706x Oblivion is the *sequel* to Morrowind, so we should we accept it having less? Oblivion isn't a bad game, but it's inferior to Morrowind. TES III is the pinnacle of the series.

  • @93riven level scaling sodomized oblivion.

Another great thing about Morrowind was that you could meet something that would kill you outright, and you would load, mark the location and savour the revenge 5 levels later.

  • @93riven- Yes, I've always loved- and hated- how Morrowind, more often than not, made you do things the hard way while everybody who started with Oblivion got to ride a horse, fast-travel, you name it. Never had to learn where every bloody rock was like I did in Vvardenfell... and I can honestly say that despite Oblivion having merits of its own and probably a better plot, Morrowind was a far better experience overall. Long may its name live as the greatest of RPG's...

  • @93riven You know, you could just decide not to fast travel and walk normally instead of complaining about the system that you are not obligated to use. Just a thought.

  • @93riven You didn't have to point click travel, you could just walk as much as you'd like, the game world was made for it anyway.

  • hey guys i am a big fan of the gameplay in oblivion but i am even a bigger fan of the music in morrowind so i was wondering if in my next game i would play with the music in morrowind

  • I think the quick travel on Oblivion made it much less enjoyable and immersive than it could have been (Stilt Striders and boats in Morrowind were such a GREAT idea and it really added to the epicness of the land).

I have no idea why they took out those modes of transportation in Oblivion. It was so fake

  • yeah, after completing everything in morrowind i got oblivion. fast travel really gives you no incentive to explore, and cyrodiil seems so empty. maybe the odd wolf here or there but still not enough to do. tes v better be more like morrowind, no ridiculous lockpicking mini games, no fast travel and have it more dependent on your characters skill rather than your own.

  • true, fast travel just made you want to go straight to the destination.

The other thing that killed it was that the quest tab pointed you in the exact location where you were supposed to go!!! You didn't even have to gain a familiarity with Cyrodil, you just pointed and clicked!!

One of the best things about Morrowind was figuring out exactly what to do next and the thrill of the journey of actually getting there..and even better was getting sidetracked!!

    Oblivion lacked this sadly :(

  • hehe, i remember trying to find a certain tomb for one of the nerevarine trials. walk north to the coast, then east, then south at a pile of rocks. i walked the whole coast and encountered my first atronachs. i was surprised to see more enemies that i hadnt seen before. i ended up at a telvanni city and forgot about my quest.

  • cont. i do like oblivion but it seems every time i play, something happens thats really bullshit. like sneaking into a house to be stopped by a guard. or how its impossible to escape guards. or how every fights seems to be a desperate struggle. this hand holding bullshit (objective markers and such) doesnt belong in an rpg game. i keep finding myself hating the xbox 360 more and more because more franchises get watered down, obviously to better suit a controller.

  • yeah the 360 is a shit but the ps3 have oblivion and all the fucking rpg of hte last years too so in resume

    the fucking consoles are bullshit

    the pc is the best

  • [Gretcher56]

I've only one gripe with your hopes for TES V. Why shouldn't it have a dependency on player skill, if the players skill doesn't matter then the game might as well play itself. Of course it can't all be player skill that affects gameplay, your character's abilities have to factor in somehow but should be more of an underlying factor, otherwise you're not playing your adventure, you're playing the adventure of [ Insert name here ] and that kills immersion just as well.

  • because that generally makes stats useless.

in oblivion, you dont need a high security skill to pick a lock. you could do that yourself with some skill. thats what i mean, just the various skills that we dont need to be in control of.

  • granted, they could have taken out security skill altogether. I found myself picking the very hard locks on everything I could right out of the tutorial and I liked that because it meant that if I'm good at lockpicking then my character is good at lockpicking.

  • because oblivion is more "casual"

  • look man,i would have loved to play morrowind but the outdated loading times keep making the game worse for me. i mean, why does every 2002 game have such great loading times and this one just has to make me wait for an hour just to get to a town. i mean i know its because the landmass is to big for the time but comone

  • WTF are you talking about Levarni I got a normal pc and loading times go really fast [my pc can max run games like crysis at medium and such] btw Morrowind isnt outdated exept for the graphics but that only counts for graphic whores;)

  • what? I played it quite recently and it there was no trouble. you had to wait for some time but it wasnt a problem. although oblivion is way faster, that's true.

  • clearly its his pc

i have a very high end pc, so its not an issue of poor compatibility

the loading times are actually non existant, except for loading a save

  • Oh goddamn if I continue listening I'll reinstall again. But .. it's not time yet! :X

  • i completed it about 2 weeks ago for the first time, when i met vivec i knew i was nearing the end

i really, really didnt want to go to red mountain, i just wanted more time to explore!

  • You're free to explore all you want even after you finish the red mountain business? Have you got the expansions?

  • yeah, i know but it feels so much better exploring while you still have a mission in mind, and yeah i have the goty edition, but tribunal doesnt seem to work, i have no idea how to get to mournhold and i didnt get attacked by an assassin

i wish there was a direct sequel to this masterpiece

  • Yeah man right after I finished the Main Quest I was like "YEAH"... but then I felt like there was nothing else to do, even with both of the expansions left to explore. I guess it's probably because I spent so much time on the Main Quest...

  • this game has such a perfect setting, complex story, amazingly detailed back story and societies. makes me want to adventure

shame theres no kwama or nix hound to kill irl

  • lol 1:27

  • lol i just had to stick that in there.

  • @xpolar1706x- That's what he said.

  • @xpolar1706x That's what she said.

  • FUCKING EPIC MASTERPIECE

  • thanks man for the compliment hey and i lvoe this game and i dont even have it and i would like someone that ahd msn can tell me alot i love his game!!!!

  • i love this game, i've completed almost all the quests, i have 4 different characters, and i have explored every nook and cranny on vvardenfell, mornhold, and sothestein. and i still play because it's so damn fun to play. the creators of this game have made a fantasy masterpiece, i love to play this game on my highest character and forget about real life and slip into the fantasy life of morrowind. plus i've re-traveled the place so much it always surprises me how i miss a cave it never ends!!!

  • Good to hear. But your talking to a person who can answer questions and tell you anything about morrowind AND oblivion like a Strategy book. Been playing morrowind for 7 years now. oblivion,2 and a half years. Daggerfall,well..i havent played that game since 1999..but I've played that too and know a lot about it. • Ahh what a great song, brings me back to better times. I could start up a game of morrowind and be entertained for hours. Favorite game of all time.

  • Simply amazing. I love this game. The environments are beautiful, in a dark kind of way.

  • which is why i love morrowind. I feel the need to play this game whenever i feel deprest for some reason. It's the only game I will play if im not in a good mood. and thats why im still attached to it.

  • wow man i ordered the game 2 days ago.I saw alot of thing about this game and the songs are awesome man.But why u play it when you are depressed.I mean this game and songs give me a weird feeling.Bye and very very nice vid i love morrowind it an ultimate great game.

  • i play when im depressed because whenever im not in a mood,i play this game and it makes me happy again.

  • Hey man i can understand that. The game its just so great :) i lvoe the game too but i ahvent played it yet just need to wait...and the msuic is awesome!!!!

  • im a huge fan of the elder scrolls. Been playing the series for about 12 years now..so..since daggerfall. lol its been a really long time I've been attached to this game. And once and a while,if i decide I'm not busy,I'll sit down and play Morrowind and Oblivion for 14 hours straight. The most I've ever played morrowind was 14 hours straight..Oblivion,21 hours straight. I was starving and had to go to the bathroom so bad when i finished up. lol those are funny times.

  • can i have your msn please man i have so many questions
