Nursing school itself isVERY abusive, with teachers putting in wrong answers on tests on purpose, LYING and saying things you didn't do to get you kicked out of the program, and overall VERY CRUEL. oreover, they don't even make much and there's NO SHORTAGE. It's a lie, trust me. do NOT become a nurse.
Nurses these days are so useless and uneducated... just a bunch of med-rejects.
All they do is changing the patient beds and getting coffee for the doctors. The nurses I've met are fairly stupid and heartless. They don't care about the patients... Some student nurses I've met can't even do 4x6 in their heads... What's going on?
@ThebanPhalanx agreed. Nursing has changed people only go to school for nursing cuz of the pay of engineers. Also its easier for math cuz they just need stats. Im a future Engineer...
@ThebanPhalanx that's so true!!! i love my job as a hospital paramedic, i due some things a RN can due if not better then some of the nurses i work with (: some nurses are just in it for the money im in the field to take care of the patient i will be starting nursing school next year and im not doing it for the money, im doing it so i can become a home health nurse, i want to take care of epilepsy patients :D
@ThebanPhalanx I totally agree. Ive spent a lot of a time in the hospital, and I am just amazed at how these people got that job and pondering how they even function in life! Some are just so stupid that I am concerned if they get a job that involves anything important. And having been in the hospital so much I really realized that a lot of nurses are mean and just pissy and don't give a flying f***. Which is why I now want to be a nurse and try to do a good job and do it well
Nursing responsibilities are being broken down into specialties. For instance: Giving medications. Hospitals are jumping on board with the phases of treating patients and clients. There will be an IV team, wound care team, feeding team, a team for every aspect of taking care of a person in the hospital. Drug administering team. This is so that more jobs can be created. Now, what is happening to RN positions? RN's better get your CNP because they will turn into management for these teams
Read what I have stated above. These community colleges are proposing all sorts of diploma programs, and these programs are in place to take away duties of an RN. Right now, the newest class, purely doing admission assessments-and TAKING OFF DOCTORS ORDERS and notifying ancillary departments of procedures that have been ordered for the patient. A RN is not needed. There are too many specialty area, like in medicine, there are many kinds of doctors. They are also con't....
