I knew it was Dancer when I saw Brandon on SNL with that costume. Here is the story, In Tijuana street peddlers sell "Dancers" They are puppets on strings wearing a Mariachi gettup, many with the shoulder pads. Killers are from the SW, and probably been to a border town. Heck, lots of people have them as souvenirs hanging lifelessly from ceiling hooks. The whole Denser issue is a simple mistake, by folks who dont know this.

I read a interview and the singer stated that he got the lyric from a book he read which the author stated that our country is raising a generation of "dancers." Meaning a generation that dances around real issues in the world and has no morals. Hunter S. Thompson once said the US is raising a generation of "dancers," in other words, people who follow a pattern and choreography instead of thinking for themselves, this is what the song is about.

2008 IMO was a huge dissapointment when it comes to music, there wasn't many good music being released but the Killers released this song and my faith in music has been restored.
