Man I loved your style! James Brown would be proud. I also played with Lollar Blackfaces on my Deluxe Strat. They were great pickups. This Lollar guy knows what he's doin. Keep funkn bro!
I do like the EC model. I really do. I never thought I'd think that a brown furniture finish would look so hot but man I like it. I'd get one two have a second JM.
Oh I'm an Elvis Costello fan. Have been since my Sophomore year in HS back in 1982. Was glad to see Fender have a tribute model in his name. He's great. Wish they would do one like his other one with the name written in the fretboard. Nice playing you do by the way. Thanks for the video.
I played the EC model and the vintage AV reissue and besides the finish, I didn't notice a sound difference. To me I thought the pickups sounded the same. I must be missing something.
great sound/video. just bought a fender 59 thin skin jazzmaster reissue. sounds great but i think lollars are in my future. thanks for the great demo.
wow fender mustang SOUNDS great 1 A

JM is for funk! :-)
GOMENTE 2 years ago
Great - what would you say, is it worth it for getting a different sound when I own a Strat? It seems to me it sounds more Tele-ish, would you agree?
Again, great playing!
hanumann 2 years ago
I agree. I think JM was often used for old 60-70s Soul music that many people believed those were Tele.
However, some of the current standard JM are Stratoish.
I don't know why. But EC-JM is Teleish.
So I recommend EC-JM or check some of standard JM at guitar stores.
Thanks. I will visit your channel later.

I agree. Though I don't know anything about Elvis Costello, simply this ECJM is really nice as an excellent JM,I thought.

GOMENTE 3 years ago
the pickups are exactly the same in both models.

Thanks. Your band is also cool.
Are you going to buy EC-JM?
I recommend. This is nice one.
GOMENTE 3 years ago

Awesome playing and killer video!! I was wondering how you like the Lollars versus the stock soapbars?
I've got an 80's MIJ and absolutely love the sound of its PU's...how come you switched?
Thanks!!!
jezebel007 3 years ago
Thank you so much.
I thought both were nice. Much better than the standard Fender JM.
EC's original PU is "dry" a little bit.
Lollar's has rich tone.
In many cases,Lollar's is better I think but the original one may be better for some ROCK tunes.
BTW,what is MIJ?
Thanks

Yes,actually 80s Fender-J was really good.
I recommend EC. A little bit expensive but worth it.
Thanks.

hey i was lookin at a fender jaguar till i came across the elvis costello jazzmaster
how much did you get your EC Jazzmaster for?
i think i checked it for 2150 Canadian?
mikeymodavis123 3 years ago
210000JPY=2100USD=2760Canadian in the latest rate.
I purchased it on September. So now the price must be lowered because of weak dollar.
In Japan,Fender guitars are sold thru a Japanese dealer. So they are going to be expensive.

What kind of strings are you using here? Great playing.
nineblackkasabian 3 years ago
D'addario Regular.(.010-0.46) Not special set.
Maybe you care about the bridge,I think.
The bridge of Jazzmaster is well known as being easy to make the skinny strings out of the rails.
But mine was OK.
When I purchased it,"Strings for Jazzmaster and Jaguar" was in the hard case in advance.
Its gauge was .011-.
Thank you for watching.

great sound/video. just bought a fender 59 thin skin jazzmaster reissue. sounds great but i think lollars are in my future. thanks for the great demo.

Thank you.
I think "thin skin" is better so I can imagine your JM is very nice.
GOMENTE 3 years ago
Awesome!!!
The costello JM is probably the best JM on the market and you've made a good choice with the Lollar pups.

Thank you. In fact,I purchased Lollar pickups three month ago and have been waiting for Costello JM on sale:-)
Thank you Jazzmaster11-san. Your channel is also great.

What's your amp?
Jazzmaster11 3 years ago
For this recording,I used Siegmund microtube preamp and Orange Tiny Terror. The Speaker output was connected to Axetrak.
So it was recorded in the closed air. But Axetrak is not so bad.
I think it is useful. Especially for Fender guitars.
