problem with 125's is simple, they are 125's. doesnt matter how good they look you still have to hang your head in shame when you hit that starter switch. dont get me wrong some like this r125 look simply stunning, a real head turner but lets face it unless you are going to be 17 forever you are going to want to get your arse off it and onto a bigger machine sooner rather that later, its that thrill of hitting 17 and having an awesome looking bike but then you hit 18-19-20 and your still paying!

@ELcantro that depends on the speedo. most of them show too high speeds, to prevent, that they show too slow speeds (thats not allowed). if the speedo is calibrated, it will show the same speed like the GPS...

not a bad bike, i have a cbr 125 its a lil faster(even getting up to speed...) although a have some engine work... your bike looks a lot bigger, probably the size of the tires and such that make it slower.
@tnt666tnt YZF-R125 is faster than the CBR its been tested before.. and the yamaha has a more powerful engine and its a 4 valve unlike the 2 valve CBR
@pladers for topspeed the wheigt is not THAT important, like for acceleration. the R125 does have more power, but the 6th gear is too short. my topspeed is set by the limiter, with a longer gear or more drive, the bike would and could be faster...
If weight isnt important, then tell that to the Formula one dudes -)
But who cares, i bought the awesome cbr250ra, it kicks ass!, much better than ninja250 crap which requires 2 cyl. to have nearly the same HP as the Honda :-)

@Stanescul Uh,... I would believe the satallite. Incase you didn't know, most manufacturers of motorcycles make the speedometer read high. Do some research. GPS is accurate to about 1-2 feet so yeah. Especially when 8 to 11 multimillion dollar satallites are tracking your signal and plotting your speed? Yeah... hmmmm... To some people this would seem like a "No Brainer"

@t0p1er the general rule with a speedo is, it shows you a faster speed than you are actually travelling, this is much safer. Therefore your bike is actually slower than 135kph...... BIG FAT LOL. GPS devices are not accurate for measuring speed either, you should know this. They do not refresh quick enough to provide an accurate enough distance/time reading. Speed is governed by accurate measurement of distance and time. Geez, just admit its an epic fail and a disgrace to Yamaha :( I LOVE YAMAHA.

well the top speed on level ground with no wind is about 110km/h-115km/h(Real speed about 105km/h-112km/h).
There is no original 4-t 125cc bike that goes smoothly on motorways but let's say that yzf-r can handle it pretty good. 115kph is not easy but it's reachable(I assume that we're talking about real speed).
Id rather trust the bikes speed itself than that tom tom, after all the speed comes from the wheel and how does the tom tom judge as accurately as the bike? Going past speedcheckers on this bike tells you the same speed your going so I'm not convinced by these tom tom things.
I recommend that you find out how "these tomtom things" work before you come and tell everybody that bikes speedometer shows accurate speed on it's basic settings.
You are right that speedcheckers tell you the accurate speed but they only notice cars(at least in my country).

not a bad bike, i have a cbr 125 its a lil faster(even getting up to speed...) although a have some engine work... your bike looks a lot bigger, probably the size of the tires and such that make it slower.
like i said tho its nice:)

dont forget that YZF-R125 weighs more than a cbr. every little kilogram counts :-)

@pladers for topspeed the wheigt is not THAT important, like for acceleration. the R125 does have more power, but the 6th gear is too short. my topspeed is set by the limiter, with a longer gear or more drive, the bike would and could be faster...

the Real speed of the bike is the one on the computer... not on the GPS

@Stanescul Uh,... I would believe the satallite. Incase you didn't know, most manufacturers of motorcycles make the speedometer read high. Do some research. GPS is accurate to about 1-2 feet so yeah. Especially when 8 to 11 multimillion dollar satallites are tracking your signal and plotting your speed? Yeah... hmmmm... To some people this would seem like a "No Brainer"

Satellite/GPS is definitely much more accurate.
Speedometer shows you always a lil bit more than it really is.
There are rules which say that a speedometer must never show a speed which is less than the actual speed.
So don't talk bullshit if you have absolutely no idea ...

Is that a special tom tom for bikes? I was planning on getting 125 like this but wanted something to make sure I don't stray onto any motorways! Bike sat-navs looked much more expensive than car ones!

At least in my country:
a1 driver's license: max 11kw (125cc)
a driver's license: max 25kw AND <0.16 kW/kg
A driver's license: no limitations.
If you're 16-18 years old, yzf-r125 is the most powerful bike that you're allowed to ride.

and a Yamaha Yzf R-125
and the Yamaha is realy beautiful and fast but the Dax drives only 100kp/h but it feels like 200 on this little bike and all are looking to my!

@t0p1er the general rule with a speedo is, it shows you a faster speed than you are actually travelling, this is much safer. Therefore your bike is actually slower than 135kph...... BIG FAT LOL. GPS devices are not accurate for measuring speed either, you should know this. They do not refresh quick enough to provide an accurate enough distance/time reading. Speed is governed by accurate measurement of distance and time. Geez, just admit its an epic fail and a disgrace to Yamaha :( I LOVE YAMAHA.

Gps is reliable when it comes to measuring speeds, I recommend u to find out how gps works before u come here and share ur bullshit with us. well the top speed on level ground with no wind is about 110km/h-115km/h(Real speed about 105km/h-112km/h).
There is no original 4-t 125cc bike that goes smoothly on motorways but let's say that yzf-r can handle it pretty good. 115kph is not easy but it's reachable(I assume that we're talking about real speed).

the top speed on the speedo is about 120-125 kph but you have to speed up like 5 min. to reach the 125 :D:D

Id rather trust the bikes speed itself than that tom tom, after all the speed comes from the wheel and how does the tom tom judge as accurately as the bike? Going past speedcheckers on this bike tells you the same speed your going so I'm not convinced by these tom tom things.

I recommend that you find out how "these tomtom things" work before you come and tell everybody that bikes speedometer shows accurate speed on it's basic settings.
You are right that speedcheckers tell you the accurate speed but they only notice cars(at least in my country).
