i see there is a 11 year old girl who loves this music and is being hastled about her choice, Young lady you will grow to be a wonderfull loving women and mother because of this music you hang in there and tell those people we all have preferance's and this music is yours. there are alot of people including myself that listen to nothing else because of the tenderness and love that is sung by these great people that made a choice themselfs you stay true young lady.
I'm 30 now and I love this music so much. I often wish I was a child or teen during this time. The current music doesn't hold a candle to this! LOVE IT!!!
I wish people would stop telling their age, and then sharing some story about how they like this music. It's not a miracle, it's just good music. This sort of music is so rich and colourful. I feel like the best stuff happened in the 50's and 60's, and since then, talent and identity has just been melting off of artists, until we're stuck with what we've got now- "gangster rap", "hard rock". The past decade has produced some great music, but I'll never look back on it the way I do these tunes.
I was a teenager in the 50's - great music, times were a lot different then. No one had much money but boy did we know how to have fun and this music takes me back in time - thanks.

am 71 years old and this is the mucic from my days as a teen in Boston and New York. I saw all of these groups, live, on stage at the Brooklyn Paramount Theater with the alan Freed Doo Wop Rock and Roll shows. Freed is the man who coined the phrase, Rock & Roll.
We had a street corner group and sang "Come Back My Love" originally by the Wrens, on the Arnie Ginsburg Show on WMEX in Boston when I was 17, in 1956
Satellite radio, Sirius, channels 5 & 6 doo wop fifties and songs of the sixties...to lay in bed at night and be taken back to my younger years...oh the memories...some sad and some outstanding....just to let you know I am 66 years old and getting to be a dieing breed of original doo wop & rock n roll as it was meant to be....

Doowop is a music genre it's used to describe the very vocal and sounds made in songs from the 1950's to about mid to late 1960's. Listen to Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers song Why do fools fall in love...and you'll hear why its calle doowop. That is the best example I can think of! Good Luck!
This music is far better than the stuff that you hear today. Most of today's music is made by machines. Doo wop is true music. Btw, I was born in the 90s

Well see Chaniebear22 - that is the reason why it has lasted all this time!!! I am happy to hear that you like it and are so young. I believe it is the harmony's and messages of the songs that have given it it's stamina. IT WILL NEVER DIE!!!
i love this music too but am also a huge fan of rap and hip hop. just because you might not like a certain genre of music doesn't mean you can't respect it. Gotta send props out to all the oldies, especially Frankie Lymon, and all of hip hop artist who know what they are doing

I always wonder what Mozart would have done with a synthesizer or a telecaster and a cuople of foot pedals. Today's music is still trying to find a path. Give them time.

I'm 18 and Doo-Wop is really on my top list of music. The progression of music has reached a downfall ladies and gentleman. Even now as you sit and listen, some shithead is making trash and getting just as much popularity as these classics had in their hayday. Doesn't it peeve you? I love GOOD music. Not all music, but GOOD music. Music is free speech and thought, but make sure other people care what you freely say and think. Doo-Wop > Trashy music.

One of the greatest songs ever written. This was back when music was real music. Take time to listen to the words and see if this didn't apply to you.
the last track on this record is amazing its one of my absolute favourites who is it?.the guys voice is outstanding he sings like an angel this i olay all the time cheers!!!!!
When my brother grew up and moved away I "inhereted" his record collection and his Hi-Fi..That started a lifetime love affair with DooWop wow do I love this music and that people are keeping it alive all these years later.
@doowoopguy Larry, you are never too old to rock n roll, doo wop will live forever... I am 66 years old and I was ther and I am still listening today...sirius satellite radio has channel 5, songs of the fifities and channel 6, songs from the sixties. I listen to them every night. What great memories to lay in bed and let your mind go back to the best times of all...
So you grew up in the Bronx in the '50's too! Congratulations. The right place at the right time wasn't it? My memories include Sat night parties in finished basements with stacks of 45's, Friday night confraternity sock hops at the church hall, my transistor radio glued to my ear, NYC D.J. Allen Freed, the neighborhood guys doing really good accapella (sp?) 4 part harmonies, and American Bandstand. We danced a lot then didn't we?
Grew up in the Bronx and started HS at Art and Design, Manhattan, 1957. One Summer Night - this was the New York sound. Fifty years later, it brings back instant memories of my sweetheart. A great sound for a great time.
i'm 68 and how i miss this great doo wop music. you had to grow up in the 50's to really appreciate this music. incidentally i grew up hoping to be a concert pianist. ibecame a chemical engineer. life can be strange
You don't have to be from that time to love this music.
I'm 29 (born in 1979) and these are the only sounds i consider music. What they call music today, is in fact talking, over a negative with no feeling and no message to be sent. Being the only tapes my father had, this was too the music i grew up on.
In 50 years time people will have something to say about that i'm sure :P
anyway, this era of music was in the time after a huge war, everything was on the up, it was the golden age for just about everything, and it reflected in the music that was made by people. We live in a dark age atm, what with so many wars going on and fear spread around in the media, therefore music sucks. That's what I think anyway!
You're totally right!! Today's culture the 2000's isn't even a culture to me. The 2000's culture is a culture of lost, confusion, fear, self centerness, evil, some love and caring, materialism, and etc. I can go on but I will stop. :)
They made happy music even during the war. People were brighter and cheerier and handled things better back than. Even during the depression during the 30's music was slap happy. I think this generation is just emo and sad and they can't smile.
Finding color in this black and white world is a pain in the ass. Ask my neighbors, oh wait they are too busy frowning and being miserable and don't talk to anyone.
I love this song..So romantic...Reminds me of the board walk in Ocean City Maryland...I was about 7 or 8 yrs old. My aunts would take me to the beach and they meet their boy friends at the beach and I remember some of these songs. Thank You for the memories.....
One of the all time greats! Memories of the 50's were a great time to be a teenager. From Johnny Ace to DooWop to have lived was truly a great tme. From the corner to the malt shops, sock hops, and the thrill of High School. Thanks Again!!
Beautiful compilation of Doo Wop music, I'm in music heaven. Thanks for posting information about the artists; besides enjoying the music, I am also acquiring knowledge about the artists. Thanks grl0661 for the upload.

I don´t understand why the new generation don´t listen to music like this.
9of10 songs today is just crap! Bad songtexts and exaggerated guitar solos...

One of the greatest songs ever written. This was back when music was real music. Take time to listen to the words and see if this didn't apply to you.

I am 68 every time I hear this song or some other do wops from the 50' s my mind drifts right back to my teen years growing up in the Bronx.
macq56 3 years ago
Hey macq; - messgage here from macp :-)

Hello sir,
Please allow me to contradict you.
You don't have to be from that time to love this music.
I'm 29 (born in 1979) and these are the only sounds i consider music. What they call music today, is in fact talking, over a negative with no feeling and no message to be sent. Being the only tapes my father had, this was too the music i grew up on.
Thanks uploader, keep up the good work.

i agree, sir. im 19 and i love this stuff. these are real feelings put into music.
fitdac 2 years ago

RussX5Z 2 years ago 4
They made happy music even during the war. People were brighter and cheerier and handled things better back than. Even during the depression during the 30's music was slap happy. I think this generation is just emo and sad and they can't smile.
Finding color in this black and white world is a pain in the ass. Ask my neighbors, oh wait they are too busy frowning and being miserable and don't talk to anyone.
Stupid new gen!
