Is it only me that finds it humorous that DW talks about "parity" and how NASCAR has found the proper regulations to ensure equal cars, then only a few years later they drastically redesign the bodies, and currently Jimmie Johnson is trying for an unprecedented 5th straight championship?
Maybe it's just me, but something tells me NASCAR made a mistake...
lol 6 years later - Joy Macreynolds and waltrip look EXACTLY THE SAME!!! they are gods, i love the first quarter of the season because of them...they make it so enjoyable....then we get Jerry Punch..............................
thank god punch's ass is getting sent back to the pits. i dont even like that reid guy as much as mike joy or allen besquick, but he better than punch by a mile
I was at this race but left with 30 to go,to beat traffic. Saw the finish on TV the next night. I was sitting on turn 2 and wouldn't have seen it anyway. :(
it happens quite often, tiebreaker is owner points, second tiebreaker is most wins, then most second places, then most third places, and so on until it's resolved
Interesting. That would be funny if they led the same number of laps as well. There was an official tie for 2nd place in the Firecracker 400 many years back, don't remember what year, sometime in the 70s though. I read it in the "nascar chronicle" book. I want to see a tie for the win at some point in my life though.
this is some kind of a movie magic finish... DAYS OF THUNDER COULDN'T HAVE SCRIPTED BETTER!!!!

it stinks that Blaney has been reserved as a start-and-parker

2003 was my favorite season. Even though Kenseth won.

Still can't get over the irony of Mark Martin in the Viagra car. lol
In my book, this is still one of, if not THE best finish in NASCAR history.

I always liked how Mark would pronounce it as "Viager".
