ill bet that hot air gun cost $1200.00 why not just use a hot glue gun the high wattage type and put nylon tie straps though it nylon is strong and welds good,

@david1513 - That is called "Jury Rigging" and is not the correct way to do a repair. It's just being lazy and cheap at the expense of your valued customers.

Seriously, you might as well have asked why not use duct tape and bubblegum.

The Steinel Hot Air Gun price is just under US$300. For $25 more you can get it with a rugged HDPE carrying case to protect it from the elements (highly suggested).

we use JB weld and fiber glass and alumunun screen wire, and in some cases a hot glue gun

Interesting, because J-B Weld will not properly adhere to polypropylene - eventually it will pop off. Fiberglass has a much lower strength-to-weight ratio than polypropylene, so using that for a repair would be like fixing a flat tire with Elmer's glue.

Using the correct tool for the job is always the best option and advice I can suggest.

High-quality tough (yet flexible) adhesives capable of bonding polyolefin materials such as 3M's DP-8005 / DP-8010 or Plastex 3000 would be the best way to go. Much, much less expensive with superior results.
