Yeah...I've known this band for years, but...I guess I never noticed anything special from their guitarist.
But, then again - I hadn't heard, let alone seen, any live footage of them until now!
Maybe not the most articulate...but he kind of epitomizes what a rock guitarist should sound like...if more people sounded like him, and not tried to be virtuosos, well rock & roll would still be good today!
Mixing this dude's style with Yardbirds-era Jimmy Page would be a stellar sound...
@angrysamoan666 yeah so The Who dropped the whole mod sound anyway for rock operas and classic rock sounding nonsense and became embarrassing. I think I'd take the creation anyday of the week but that's just my opinion.
No, those long-haired artists you see leaving the stage at the beginning of the video are members of German group The Lords, who wore wigs................
They just got somehow mostly overlooked but name a more killer band.Almost impossible to come up with another nearly as cool.

the bassist looks a bit like Ronnie Lane of The Small Faces and the drummer looks a bit like Jim Mccarty of The Yardbirds.

As much as I love The Who, I prefer The Creation. They nailed the whole Pop/Mod thing.

You prefer the Creation to the Who cause they did nothing so you can lord it over people who never heard them.
The Creation nailed nothing, they kept changing, copping out with cover versions, swapping singers, they nailed the Mod thing NOT

They weren't the Lords. Those two were German Sonny and Cher copies called Adam and Eve, or something to that effect.
