Awesome article. The game did look laggy and unpolished. The new trailers look great. But why Slant Six after Socom? Surely to hell they will get the bugs worked out by March. Keep up the commentary. This is a big departure from traditional RE.
I personally am excited for REORC, ive even made a amv for the trailers, but i think it will be atleast something to try out mainly because i would like to see a new rendition of racoon city, and if what Ive read is true than this is more of a what if scenario. oh and love the show concept max, i would love to see a vid about DMC5, doubt that is gonna happen, seeing as im the only guy on the damn planet who is excited about it

As far as outbrake is concerned I think if they were to make another one with this day and age of internet behind it, it would be fantastic. It's was a cool idea. Just the internet options of the PS2 limited it severely. It's a case of Good idea bad execution.
i think it'll be ok to skip SSX again and do a talk about the RE6 trailer. As for this game; I don't like L4D and this game is pretty much L4R + Horde mode + Random scifi shit that definitely wasn't happening during RE3 and 2. So I will be skipping this entirely
I got some time in with Resident Evil: ORC also and i gotta say i love resident evil but this game is an experiment to see how tactical and zombies could work, i think the game is going to be good but they shouldn't make a sequel just let one be enough.
RE:ORC looks like it controls similar to lost planet or the like, I hope it does because the controls and the entire feel of how the lost planet games handeled was great.
I do enjoy these videos and hope that you do start the series, would love to see you play a more wide array of games, enjoyed watching your Lost Planet videos. Thinking of something like that.. but with commentary? GDLK.. would love to watch that.

As a long time RE fan I have some reservations about RE:ORC. I didn't like RE Dead Aim or Outbreak, and didn't get the ones on 3DS cause I won't by a system to play two games >:(. I enjoyed 0,Remake, and 4. I like that they will have a lot of BOW's from Licker and Hunters too Mr. X. Nemi, and G. I might just rent the game to see how it is.

reminds me more of lost planet 2 which i enjoyed but at the same time thought i could have been alot better & as a person who plays L4D alot, they better well damn make each epsiode of each chapter unique, lost planet 2 tried to pull that shit but failed. we got a good amount of "infected" or should i say B.O.W's that can create unique moments but regardless 1st day purchae for me.
I never really got into the whole RE4 hype, 5 on the other hand is one of the best games Ive played though, always felt like it took everything that made 4 good and improved on it to make it great, this looks like quite a different approach though, so its hard to say how it will turn out, personally I hadn't cared much for it, but after seeing this vid Im actually looking forward to playing it, great new series Max, Ill be looking forward to more of your vids as always, keep up the great work :)
Resident Evil 4 was one of the best RE's in the series if not the best. Resident Evil 5 in my opinion was terrible...and I disliked it greatly :P I'm a bit skeptic about Operation: Raccoon City, but that multiplayer looks pretty fun...

Im excited bout Resident Evil, Max did it play like mercenaries mode? Because I have long since felt they need to release a game with the sole focus of mercenary mode and if this game is like that, then im gonna get right in it.
SSX will be dope too, I played a ton of tricky (World record holder, sry to brag lol). The new game has come a long way, i remember in the begining they said their wouldn't be any uber tricks. After a community outrage they have come around, so it should be fun

Nothing wrong with Outbreak Max... it was one of the best Resident Evils yet, it was before its time with the Online thing, thats why it didnt take off.
you gotta remember the framerate issue and tearing issues are because the version YOU played was an Alpha version of the game there are gonna be many more tests and stuff to fix the kinks.
Initially i was not hyped for this game at all. Something about it didn't sit well with me and initial videos really bored me. However within the last few months this game has def risen to a game i def want to try. Mostly the nostalgia of fighting Birkin and Nemesis as well as being in Racoon City has me excited, but the biggest reason is that the U.S.S. characters look really fun to play as. The looks like a great co-op/multiplayer though i feel story wise that this spinoff wont be too great.
Re5 was very suck only wesker cool about game and zombies not cool. I was thinking, Max does a great job on Capcom games but we have no one to do breakdowns and such of the Resi series, that being my favorite series by Capcom and my favorite videogame series of all time. But now this...im amazed, Max, I bow down
keep in Mind Max that the build of Raccoon City at E3 was most likely an alpha build. While Slant Six doesn't have a stellar track record with their games most developers will use E3 gameplay demos for Feedback on what should be tweaked in the Final Build. while i understand your cautious optimism there are plenty of great games that had poor showings at E3 (GTA 3 being a perfect example).

I actually liked Outbreak. Get a few friends together and it makes it pretty nice. Not being able to communicate directly is something a lot of people see as a flaw, making cooperation more difficult, but I found it made me pay more attention to my team mates, rather than just telling them what to do and knowing they'd just do it. I don't know about this new Resident Evil, I want to see something positive, but it's just SOCOM with zombies.
Ever since I saw the trailer I've been itching for it's release so I can play it but my internet sucks so I'm hoping it will work well when I play Racoon City and that it doesn't turn out to be a Resident Evil Outbreak 3.
Resident Evil 4 one of the best games ever made? Really? Max that game was bad any way you look at it. Resident Evil 4 was the down point of the Resident Evil games. Resident Evil 5 was ok the co-op is what made it some what fun. Leon as a character fails and so does most of the other characters from 4. Not a one made me think oh I hope they don't die. Outbreak was fun and dead aim....I hated that as well. You want good Resident Evil games 0, 1, 2 some what, 3, Veronica X enough said.
I get a kick when people go "Baw, its not survival horror". Unlike most other RE games, your dropping into the nightmare as a character equipped to fight. Yeah BOW's are bad, but other humans are what you should be scared of.
Resident Evil Racoon City is a spiritual successor to Resident Evil Outbreak, I don't know why your saying that one was bad, I thought it was pretty good.
not a personal fan of Capcom's recent hard-on for all things western in style and game play. Looking way more forward to RE: Revelations then i am to Gears of Evil: Racoon City.... :/
ASURA'S WRATH!!! the demo is pretty cool. And other pretty good ones that you should give a shot: Soul Calibur 5, Skyrim (since you mentioned single player), and Battlefield if you like teamwork to pay off

Hey Max, can you go over option selects? I heard about them in mutiple fighting games, yet I still don't understand what they are and how you use them.
Max, since you're on the Xbox 360, or so I think....how about trying some Gears of War 3? Also, the new Ninja Gaiden comes out March 20th, how about giving that a try? Ninja Gaiden Black is one of the best games of all time IMO, and a good example of what a Hack and Slash should be like. Maybe not a bad route to go to branch out from Shooters and Fighters?

@Miles923 Hay Max, have you heard of the JRPG series Shin Megami Tensei? If so what's your take on it, like say, persona 3 or 4. And if not, what about the entire JRPG franchise as a whole? What's your take on that and it's American RPG competition?

Oh man, I can't WAIT for the SSX vid. I've been keeping tabs on the game for the past couple of months. And I think these vids are an awesome idea. Communication between the gaming the community is never a bad thing.
I enjoy this, another game that is coming out and seems to have a great multi-player aspect is Ninja Gaiden 3. I saw a trailer and my jaw dropped to the floor.
The problem with Resident Evil 4 is that it was so incredibly good it made all the other RE games before and since seem horrible by comparison. I'm not optimistic about Raccoon City. I feel it's falling into the trap that RE5 fell into where the focus shifted to mindless action, ignoring the series survival horror roots. I personally would love to see the older games in the series remade with RE4-style mechanics, à la Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
Let's get this right slant six made socom confrontation on the ps3 not the uncharted rip off that is socom 4 ... For the record confrontation was very fun even though there were alot of bugs I played the game 2 years straight until the god mode hackers took over but that's another story. The camera and gameplay definatly looks similar to confrontation, game concept looks solid I would just worry about the developers more than anything
I am looking forward to Resident Evil Raccoon City,however, I was mostly looking forward to a Resident Evil:Outbreak File's 1 and 2 HD remix or Downloadable with PSN/Xbox Live support. Maybe even a File 3 release would've been great because,as a gamer,I feel that the Outbreak Series is a game that didn't get the attention it should have gotten. If it got a re-release or a sequel,I'd pay to buy it.
There is a PC version being released for Games for Windows Live. No Steam.
Also in my opinion, one shouldn't compare this to RE4 or 5 cause you can tell it is really different just by looking at it, this game seems to be catered more towards that versus action more than anything else (also for you haters, this game is not canon so chill).
I am really excited about this game though, I just hope the PS3 ver allows mouse&keyboard, else I'll just get the PC ver.

hey Max did you ever play Platinum Games' Vanquish? It was by Shinji Mikami, father of Resi, and I read on Wiki that it was made by the same team behind Resi4 but if its true or not I have no idea as you never can tell sometimes with Wiki.

Yes this is being made by Platinum games who brought you Vanquish and Bayonetta (created by Hideki Kayima, father of DMC) and MadWorld as well.
They were once part of Capcom known as Team Clover where they made classics like Okami, Viewiful Joe and Godhand.
@Colbio The game (Rising) will run at 60fps and retains the cut anything mechanic and if you are worried about the story I'll remove any concerns about that too. While KojiPro could not make the game the way they wanted to because the stealth and cut anything wasn't mixing well, even though they are not making the game they still have a hand in it as they are writing the story themselves so it should hopefully have a fairly solid storyline (no pun intended)

Im excited bout Resident Evil, Max did it play like mercenaries mode? Because I have long since felt they need to release a game with the sole focus of mercenary mode and if this game is like that, then im gonna get right in it.
SSX will be dope too, I played a ton of tricky (World record holder, sry to brag lol). The new game has come a long way, i remember in the begining they said their wouldn't be any uber tricks. After a community outrage they have come around, so it should be fun

Initially i was not hyped for this game at all. Something about it didn't sit well with me and initial videos really bored me. However within the last few months this game has def risen to a game i def want to try. Mostly the nostalgia of fighting Birkin and Nemesis as well as being in Racoon City has me excited, but the biggest reason is that the U.S.S. characters look really fun to play as. The looks like a great co-op/multiplayer though i feel story wise that this spinoff wont be too great.

keep in Mind Max that the build of Raccoon City at E3 was most likely an alpha build. While Slant Six doesn't have a stellar track record with their games most developers will use E3 gameplay demos for Feedback on what should be tweaked in the Final Build. while i understand your cautious optimism there are plenty of great games that had poor showings at E3 (GTA 3 being a perfect example).

I actually liked Outbreak. Get a few friends together and it makes it pretty nice. Not being able to communicate directly is something a lot of people see as a flaw, making cooperation more difficult, but I found it made me pay more attention to my team mates, rather than just telling them what to do and knowing they'd just do it. I don't know about this new Resident Evil, I want to see something positive, but it's just SOCOM with zombies.

Resident Evil 4 one of the best games ever made? Really? Max that game was bad any way you look at it. Resident Evil 4 was the down point of the Resident Evil games. Resident Evil 5 was ok the co-op is what made it some what fun. Leon as a character fails and so does most of the other characters from 4. Not a one made me think oh I hope they don't die. Outbreak was fun and dead aim....I hated that as well. You want good Resident Evil games 0, 1, 2 some what, 3, Veronica X enough said.

I get a kick when people go "Baw, its not survival horror". Unlike most other RE games, your dropping into the nightmare as a character equipped to fight. Yeah BOW's are bad, but other humans are what you should be scared of.

Max, since you're on the Xbox 360, or so I think....how about trying some Gears of War 3? Also, the new Ninja Gaiden comes out March 20th, how about giving that a try? Ninja Gaiden Black is one of the best games of all time IMO, and a good example of what a Hack and Slash should be like. Maybe not a bad route to go to branch out from Shooters and Fighters?

i think you should go for it. talking of something other than fighting games, and MW seems interesting, and your getting to become a popular figure in the online gamer community, so i think its a good idea.
also, thanks for the info on ORC. since its an over-the-shoulder shooter, i figured it was clunky, and the frame rate may be low, so confirming that really helps my opinion on buying it when it comes out.

The problem with Resident Evil 4 is that it was so incredibly good it made all the other RE games before and since seem horrible by comparison. I'm not optimistic about Raccoon City. I feel it's falling into the trap that RE5 fell into where the focus shifted to mindless action, ignoring the series survival horror roots. I personally would love to see the older games in the series remade with RE4-style mechanics, à la Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

Let's get this right slant six made socom confrontation on the ps3 not the uncharted rip off that is socom 4 ... For the record confrontation was very fun even though there were alot of bugs I played the game 2 years straight until the god mode hackers took over but that's another story. The camera and gameplay definatly looks similar to confrontation, game concept looks solid I would just worry about the developers more than anything

I am looking forward to Resident Evil Raccoon City,however, I was mostly looking forward to a Resident Evil:Outbreak File's 1 and 2 HD remix or Downloadable with PSN/Xbox Live support. Maybe even a File 3 release would've been great because,as a gamer,I feel that the Outbreak Series is a game that didn't get the attention it should have gotten. If it got a re-release or a sequel,I'd pay to buy it.

There is a PC version being released for Games for Windows Live. No Steam.
Also in my opinion, one shouldn't compare this to RE4 or 5 cause you can tell it is really different just by looking at it, this game seems to be catered more towards that versus action more than anything else (also for you haters, this game is not canon so chill).
I am really excited about this game though, I just hope the PS3 ver allows mouse&keyboard, else I'll just get the PC ver.
Oh, and SSX looks awesome.

hey Max did you ever play Platinum Games' Vanquish? It was by Shinji Mikami, father of Resi, and I read on Wiki that it was made by the same team behind Resi4 but if its true or not I have no idea as you never can tell sometimes with Wiki.

Yes this is being made by Platinum games who brought you Vanquish and Bayonetta (created by Hideki Kayima, father of DMC) and MadWorld as well.
They were once part of Capcom known as Team Clover where they made classics like Okami, Viewiful Joe and Godhand.

@Colbio The game (Rising) will run at 60fps and retains the cut anything mechanic and if you are worried about the story I'll remove any concerns about that too. While KojiPro could not make the game the way they wanted to because the stealth and cut anything wasn't mixing well, even though they are not making the game they still have a hand in it as they are writing the story themselves so it should hopefully have a fairly solid storyline (no pun intended)
