the boss fights are epic, especially in one of the last stage when you have to kills tons of 'mini' boss. But the rest of the game is not so great. But the boss makes you want to keep playing it and fight them again and again
The real problem with Lost Planet 2 is that it is really a lot more enjoyable by the people who actually know how to play it. No this isn't a skill issue, it's more of a "How far are you willing to go" issue. LP2 has an absolute host of little things that you are never told (More so than any game I've played, except maybe Super Mario Bros for the NES). The more you know, the more fun it is. If you want a kick in the face of good-game-fun, buy the guide and read it (Ignoring the level pages).

Just had this game a few days ago....Returned it!! It just left me unsatisfied! No leading person n no story whatsoever!! Beautiful graphics n huge monsters but it just leaves u unsatisfied. @chride87 I don't know how to describe how long the campaign. It's six episodes with several chapters per episode. That's just about the best I can do, sorry. If you're wondering whether you should buy it, I could give you my review if you want. I don't usually trust the "official reviews". I trust the players who have actually played and I'm glad I trusted them. Game reviews recently have been pretty inaccurate.

Pros: really fun to play in co-op, even if only one other person, HUGE bosses, HUGE guns, sometimes fighting monsters and sometimes fighting people makes the fighting NOT repetitive. Plenty of mechs for more carnage. The graphics are great, but I don't care about them as long as they aren't crap. They fixed the T-eng mechanic from LP1, so the T-eng is now more of inventory, high replay value especially with co-op and MP.
@chride87 customizable characters, excellent story characters, wide variety of environments, lost of unlockables, plenty of humor, and fixed many problems from LP1: you can run, the controls are not as clunky, T-eng is no longer counting down. Co-op can make hilarious moments in LP2, if you are playing with a friend. And, the ragdoll physics are on steroids. Amazing cutscenes, voice acting makes it feel like you are there, and soundtrack is better than most movies
@chride87 the gameplay may not be repetitive, but the missions are (Kill this, kill that, get over there, activate the data posts) Good story characters, but you don't know any of their names. Getting knocked over can be frustrating, especially if you're knocked to your death (especially when you get shot off a train) AI for the co-op allies is crap (You'll be fighting a monster and they'll be picking their noses)
@chride87 And, there are things that are good/bad depending on the player.
Some coop missions have half of you starting in one point and the other half at another point. Like, in a jail break, some of you are the ones getting out of jail and the others are rescuing you from jail. I personally liked that but others didn't.
Playing alone is another thing. Playing coop is spectacularly fun but playing alone feels different. I don't care, some say still good, some say bad.
@chride87 one more neutral thing is the story. I understood it and liked the way it was set up. Each episode follows a different faction of snow pirates. In the final episode, their stories all come together. I understood and really liked it. But, some people thought the story was confusing.
@chride87 I nearly forgot to mention one more neutral thing. Skill and teamwork are involved. You can't just run and gun like most shooters nowadays or you'll be gunned down. A lot (including me) like the fact that skill and tactics are required. You need teamwork to share the T-eng and to make sure you don't get gunned down.
@chride87 And, I forgot to mention one more thing (facepalm) LP2 does sometimes fall short on instructions. Like one mission it says "Unload the cargo into that guy!" Some people think they mean unload the ammo into the enemy when it means shoot the things holding the huge cargo tanks. You can combine some of your mechs but it doesn't tell you how. Sometimes you're going have to stop and think about what is being said to understand the mission.
@chride87 Overall,Incredibly fun with coop and great multiplayer. LP2 was made for human coop/multiplayer. There are unlockables. It's not incredibly spectacular.

Played the first 2 levels in splitscreen with a friend. The maps, menus, and control setups were confusing at first, but I got used to them. Overall, it was pretty fun. :)
I bought Lost Planet 2 and Borderlands at the same time and i enjoyed them both and think they are equally fun. They have cool weapons, huge bosses and great graphics. They are both kind of boring without a splitscreen or online buddy. Switching to control type B and downloading the patch fixes most of the problems. 8/10 for me!
that's a little harsh, i would give it a 4/5 because some of the patches fixed the difficulty for solo players, and you could switch the ai players if you wanted to. The game has beautiful lush environments and is very fun with friends. My problems with the game are the multiplayer game play. There are currently a lack of players, but that cannot be fixed. I also hate how half of the multiplayer is grenade spam. another complaint i have is how rolling provides invincibility to my rifle rounds.
and don't take my comment like i'm saying i hate this game, i actually love it. I'm just saying that the only thing i don't like too much is the fact that when you get shot, it stops you from doing everything

I don't die so much, I play on Normal, and ussually only die when I do something stupid, like, say running into an AI infested room, all of them with shotguns (Ep. 2, chapter 2).
Lost planet was almost perfect with it's story and it's gameplay. The only thing I would do to improve it is to intigrate the story into the gameplay a little more. It wasn't as bad as Armoured core 4 in this regard but it could be improved. Hopefully Lost planet 2 manages to maintain the level of excellence in story telling and gameplay that the original had while also managing to create scenarios which tell the story instead of a series of events which correlate to the story.
This is proof that many gamers have become pussies. If thre is any remote challenge in a game, people get pissed and just say the game sucks. The game doesn't suck, you suck at the game, and you need to practive to get better at it before bitching about it. Now this game the best game I've ever played, but its damn good. I'd give it a 4/5

I dislike these kinds of reviews that get thousands of views but don't really talk about much of the game. The best reviews for games are ones that fans made and uploaded to youtube. These people are pressured by time and end up not saying mcuh.

Ok. I play it on normal with 3 AI Players (just until I beat it the first time) With me dying 1-2 per level if that much. My teamates do a very good job of covering me and if you actually play with them rather than leaving them you wont die often either. especially with the harmonizer; I mean come on you can heal yourself at almost any time. This stuff cant be that hard...
@SeniorSmurf1 still bullshit just because it has different controls and no one is used to it, all the more challenging hell i wouldnt care if they made me put a button in some house down the street..

I dislike these kinds of reviews that get thousands of views but don't really talk about much of the game. The best reviews for games are ones that fans made and uploaded to youtube. These people are pressured by time and end up not saying mcuh.

Ok. I play it on normal with 3 AI Players (just until I beat it the first time) With me dying 1-2 per level if that much. My teamates do a very good job of covering me and if you actually play with them rather than leaving them you wont die often either. especially with the harmonizer; I mean come on you can heal yourself at almost any time. This stuff cant be that hard...
