I'm just sharing my opinion based on what I've seen of Brashear and what he's become over the years as well as adding some personal insight. Brashear only hit Bitz in the helmet and never landed a good hit. Bitz did alright in this fight, as a rookie, but overall this was the farthest thing from a good fight. Next time, hopefully Brashear won't bear hug his opponent (like he does in every fight) and just throw shots to the back of the head and man up and fight Bitz who probably could have beaten Brashear if he was tied up the whole time.

If you didn't notice we are talking about a ROOKIE, first year in the NHL, against a VETERAN and not just any veteran, a very experienced veteran fighter. So from the beginning of this fight 'til the very end, Brashear had an experience advantage. For a rookie, I think Bitz did great, holding his own. Brashear didn't land one good punch this whole fight in my eyes. You, my friend, just have an incredibly biased opinion if you think those shots to the back of Bitz's helmet were good, clean hits.

Normally I'd agree with everyone about Brashear and his rep for hugging. But check out the beginning of the fight. Bitz starts with his hands down. He's clearly looking for the underhooks. Then as soon as Brash goes for a jersey grab Bitz starts hugging. Pretty much from 0:31 to 0:58 Brash is the one working to make space, not Bitz. So I can't blame Brash on this one. He only hugs tough opponents. Also, did everyone notice Lucic rushing in to take on a true heavyweight? Ya, me neither.
