I can't stand Beck's hyperbole and fear-mongering, but I do understand where the conservative camp is coming from on the idea of welfare and social justice. It is better if people can organize themselves and do these things themselves. I don't oppose tax-funded safety nets, things like that, but bureaucracies are wasteful and to some degree corrupt so it is a good ideal to seek ways to get some things done without them, if possible. That said, Beck is an annoying wingnut.
The Nazi's didn't talk of universal social justice but talked of justice for "real Germans" who they were saying were being ripped off just like Beck and Palin talk of justice for "heartland" Americans. Most of the actions and support for the nazi's came from a real fear of the spread of communism which was happening in eastern europe, a situation that is not happening now given most countries are opening up, so Beck is so deluded he would be considered clinically paranoid in most countries

Classical Libertarians made a crucial mistake when they abandoned pure libertarianism to federalists just after they lost their firm hold of the Jacksonists, with the idea that they could bring change on a more gradual basis. This obviously never happened, and we have slipped further and further into socialism ever since. I think we can all agree that Beck is a little paranoid and too pessimistic about this and usually far too political in his reporting but nonetheless, quite accurate.

I've seen the late night Red Eye show and some of their more 'liberal' offerings, for lack of a better word. And while I agree that it's better than some of the regular programming, it's like comparing a piece of shit to a slightly better smelling piece of shit. Fox just can not be trusted in my opinion. Their fact-checking leaves a lot to be desired and I do not support Fox in any way at all.

Also the government is only given power at the consent of the governed (do the names John Locke or Thomas Hobbes ring any bells) so the reality is that the government is here to serve the people, not the other way round.

I can't stand Beck's hyperbole and fear-mongering, but I do understand where the conservative camp is coming from on the idea of welfare and social justice. It is better if people can organize themselves and do these things themselves. I don't oppose tax-funded safety nets, things like that, but bureaucracies are wasteful and to some degree corrupt so it is a good ideal to seek ways to get some things done without them, if possible. That said, Beck is an annoying wingnut.

The Nazi's didn't talk of universal social justice but talked of justice for "real Germans" who they were saying were being ripped off just like Beck and Palin talk of justice for "heartland" Americans. Most of the actions and support for the nazi's came from a real fear of the spread of communism which was happening in eastern europe, a situation that is not happening now given most countries are opening up, so Beck is so deluded he would be considered clinically paranoid in most countries

The Nazis spent most of their time criticising (and physically attacking) the Social Democrats in Germany saying they are basically communists (just like Beck does against democrats and liberals) and the Nazi idealogy and policies which were supported by many industrialists and eventually the middle classes, more closely resemble Glen Becks conservative views than Obama's which has more support from working classes and intellectuals.

Government should not be involved because if the government robs Peter to pay Paul, it does not good for Peter. If Peter gives to Paul of free will, he gets something (spiritual/religious/etc.) out of it.

leveling the playing field has to do with opportunity not material wealth.... how can they say we have a chance when we can not even get an education without promising to work and turn 5-50% of our income over to the big banks for the first 20 years of employment..... IF we find a job right away, otherwise it is a lifetime sentence to this debt, whatever you do to get ahead the banks alone profit from because you OWE them..... The rich are not enslaved in this manner.
