  • Hi David, I had LTL as well and found out many of my memory problems were minimized when I got off Lamictal. I know you're staying on meds, but ask about new meds that may have different side-effects. For me, phenobarbital and lamictal were bad on memory. Tegretol & Neurontin were not as bad, but that cocktail led to massive weight gain. Many new meds are out. Ask about all of them.

  • You are A True Inspiration to the world, throuh all you've endured and you're living proof that what doesn't kill only makes a person stronger in the end. God Bless You

  • So You Feel Better,

  • this is the exact same surgery my mom is having eventually... im so sad to hear about this person... and very relieved that someone can live a normal life. This is very hard to go through, i am a 14 year old boy and i have to take my bike everywhere, I dont even have any time for my self.

  • your onw year anniversary is tomorrow, and i want to say thank you. Someone very close to me is thinking about having the operation done, we arfe reserching, and very scared... thank you, because this gives me hope that we are gonna be ok! congratualtions again!

  • thanks david. best of luck to you. your very encouring. keep us up to date.

  • The surgery was done March 17th of 2010. The one year anniversary is coming up!!! :) I'm doing good, only had two seizures since the surgery. It was pretty scary making the decision. Taking the chance, with the possibility of major problems afterwards, was difficult. The surgery took a lot of time to recover, I'm still working on memory, and peoples names. Just don't be scared to talk to your doctor about everything before you have the surgery. Good luck!

  • @DavidEpilepsy
