Excellent dream sequence duet from Vishaws . There are many excellent songs too from this film that was a great hit. Surendraji sang and acted extremely well in this film. His other song... bhool ja..Bhoolja jo Dekh ta hai... was a soul stirring song in the film.

Actually, the female singer is Parul Ghosh Ji, a top playback singer of 1940s as well as the first playback singer of Hindustani cinema. Mehtab Ji never sang in 1940s, but she did hum a bit in Ek Din Ka Sultan (1945) and sang in some 1930s films in which she played lead, only to make ends meet though. She is listed as singer probably because in those days in place of singers actors used to be listed many times. Melodious song, first film of Feroze Nizami Ji. Mehtab Ji - Surendra Ji pair well.

Thank you for such a lovely song from Vishwas, Alaknanda2007; Is it possible that you can get me Surendra' solo song from this same film 'bhool ja jo dekhta haim woh jo dekha bhool ja, yaad rekhkar kya karega, woh tamasha bhool ja' It is very dificult to get all the songs of the old singers on cds.

Thank you, Guptaji. Did Mehtab always sing for herself? BTW, in some places, the lyricist is listed as Pt. Indra. Are you very certain that it is A.Karim?

Mehtab wasn't exactly a singing star like Noor Jahan or Suraiya. So when playback came into vougue, I am sure it was used on her in her later films - Jhansi Ki Rani (1952), Saathi (1946), Sanjog (1943) and Qaidi (1940).
