The main problem with "2D plus depth" technology is that it's just that -- 2D plus depth. It's not full 3D, because there's no information about what's behind the edges of objects, and the amount of depth is fundamentally and severely limited by the bit depth of the depth map. Also, the "warping" that is necessary to create at least one of the eyes' images results in the quality of the image being reduced.
Phillips "depth mapping", doesn't give that good of parallax management. I wasn't too impressed with this product. The choice of flat panel display did help the images either.
I ain't wearing stupid glasses to watch tv. Stupid Sony. Sorry sony i like my ps3 though.. but I like my philips tv much better!!!

I actually HATE the WOWvx displays, because UNLIKE other stereoscopic viewing systems, they use and require "2D plus depth" content.
With "2D plus depth" content, INSTEAD of consisting of left and right eye channels, it consists of a single NON-STEREOSCOPIC channel and a depth map.
