I had to review this vid...I am doing my first bridal makeup tutorial this Friday. I am doing 'vintage bridal' so red lips will be included but I assume you agree that the whole look should be matte? Any advice will be SO appreciated. :)
Hey Ashley, you just have to constantly think of things from a photographers point of view when it comes to bridal makeup. A little bit of well placed highlight is fine like eyebrow arch, centre of lid, cupids bow etc just as long as it's the right side of subtle. But highlighting any larger space of skin is a no no, like no strobe cream all over the face etc unless that is, it is a day time wedding where all the photos are to be taken outside without flash and in full day light.
Right...it's mainly about a good photo at all times of day and in all light...so I knew SPF was a bad idea because of how it takes light. and such...thanks for all your help!
Pretty much, but you also have to take into consideration how long the makeup will last etc. Like if you're going down the lipstick route, I'd foundation first, then layer of lip liner, blot, lipliner, lipstick, blot, and finally lipstick. I do this when wearing lipstick to the pub and I swear it doesn't budge!! Obviously it's important that the lips are well exfoliated and soft and conditioned prior to application.
Absolutely beautiful look, and the thing I love about this look is that it is very versitile. You do so well with both the bright and toned down looks. Thank you for taking the time to show us :)
I love how you use cheaper products from Boots along side Mac and other more expensive brands. I love grabbing a bargain and its really helpful to see what you use and what works well. Great video!
Absolutely stunning! definitely worth devoting two parts to it. This is better than wedding make up, this is 'i am going to a date but I am not desperate' make up :) In other words, neutral-ish but definitely not boring. It's 10 stars from me. Off to the sidebar to see what you used. Thank you x
Maybe this is an odd question to ask for this video, but my hair is purple. My natural color is a mousy brown, so my brows are sort of just a light brown.
Should I be using a black or maybe even a purple color to fill in my brows to match my hair rather then a brown to match my brow?
Oh I really can't tell Hun. It really depends on your style. I've been every colour under the sun and I often matched my hair to my brows but I have always dressed unconventionally and quite artistic so it kinda just suited. And of course you have to be comfortable with the fact it would draw attention, not always good! As far as what colour looks best, Black sounds as if it would be too harsh unless you go for the goth look. A medium brown should be sound!!
love you accent:)

In that case you can play around with a bit more irridescence and can go ahead and use sunblock etc
