@dinodude162 the answer is it doesn't. while huge in length spinosaurus stood on average a mere 20 feet at the crown of the skull and 15 ft at the hip, the same height as trex, a foot or 2 taller then allosaurus, and an insubstantial 5 ft taller than a true rugops. the spinosaurus depicted here killing our poor friend the rugops seems to be no less then 35 ft tall, a gross exaggeration.

They probably protected juveniles the same way modern large herbivores do. Sometimes they lose and a baby is taken, but they usually don't. It would make no sense, biologically, to have so few babies and not look out for them.

So that would mean that Spinosaurus would've been the largest predatory dinosaur of its time. Well it isn't possible for it to be of a size to rival the largest predator of the history of the earth, liopleurodon. The largest and most complete fossil was guessed to be around 50 ft, meaning if there was one of that size in the video, it would be more than 120 ft, and it's size would make it completely visble.....

We know almost nothing with any level of certainty about spinosaurus. We don't even know for sure that it was bipedal. It was likely semi aquatic. It may have been mostly aquatic.
If the scale was correct for that thirty-foot rugops primus that would make that spinosaurus more than eighty feet long.
These programs are horribly misleading and inaccurate.
Spinosaurus was long, possibly fifty-feet in length, but not nearly as massive as Giganotosaurus (ton for ton the largest theropod at almost seven tons) or powerful as Tyrannosaurus (the most powerfully built theropod dinosaur).

All we have is the very incomplete fossil record of Spinosaurus. I've searched long and hard for the record of an even near complete skeleton. The original stuff was lost during WW2. This is a really exagerated re-construction and this creature has gained a reputation since JP3. Dinosaurs can have disproportionally large heads, so calculating length from fragments of bone particularly jaws creates big problems. See the Natural History Museum in London for some sense on this matter.
Sorry, but the Rugops, introduced here as a 30-footer, appears to be killed by a 90-to-120-foot Spinosaur. Our largest Spino is a 36-footer, while our largest Rugops is only 21-feet. And no, the Spino would never attack another 'saur unless it was over females or territory. c4cs.tripod.com

So that would mean that Spinosaurus would've been the largest predatory dinosaur of its time. Well it isn't possible for it to be of a size to rival the largest predator of the history of the earth, liopleurodon. The largest and most complete fossil was guessed to be around 50 ft, meaning if there was one of that size in the video, it would be more than 120 ft, and it's size would make it completely visble.....

1.If spinosaurus had a sail, it'd be to valuable for it to get damged in a fight against another dinosaur such as T.rex or Giganotosaurus.
2. It may be big, but its main prey is fish.
3. Notice how other big carnivores have big broad heads. Spinosaurus's jaw would've been weaker than theirs (Ex. T.rex) . Thus, it concludes it's jaw would've been weaker. It might have been big, but it would've been killed.

We know almost nothing with any level of certainty about spinosaurus. We don't even know for sure that it was bipedal. It was likely semi aquatic. It may have been mostly aquatic.

If the scale was correct for that thirty-foot rugops primus that would make that spinosaurus more than eighty feet long.
These programs are horribly misleading and inaccurate.
Spinosaurus was long, possibly fifty-feet in length, but not nearly as massive as Giganotosaurus (ton for ton the largest theropod at almost seven tons) or powerful as Tyrannosaurus (the most powerfully built theropod dinosaur).

All we have is the very incomplete fossil record of Spinosaurus. I've searched long and hard for the record of an even near complete skeleton. The original stuff was lost during WW2. This is a really exagerated re-construction and this creature has gained a reputation since JP3. Dinosaurs can have disproportionally large heads, so calculating length from fragments of bone particularly jaws creates big problems. See the Natural History Museum in London for some sense on this matter.

Sorry, but the Rugops, introduced here as a 30-footer, appears to be killed by a 90-to-120-foot Spinosaur. Our largest Spino is a 36-footer, while our largest Rugops is only 21-feet. And no, the Spino would never attack another 'saur unless it was over females or territory. c4cs.tripod.com

there is no way a spinosaurus is that big. And it couldnt kill a rugops because the rugops was way to big to just be taken out in one bite. Rugops is 30 ft long, and the Spinosaurus is 56ft long it is bigger but not that much bigger.
