  • How frustrating to see what so many people "believe" hook line and sinker in a negative way about everything to do with humanity's historical past; fear of all things Egyptian. fear of polytheism, a-theism, rationalism, masonry, intellectualism, It's enough to make me wonder how much of the conspiracista pov is a manipulation of the many by the few whose vested interests are to perpetuate the status quo (us versus them)...the "true believers" of which ever religion vs to "infidel"...

  • Yes, a more clear image of the two pages of b&w Egyptians would be valuable.

  • @janetbratter1

    I'll see what I can do. :-)

  • Blessed Virgin sacred mother to whom the glory of the sun belongs.....this is a beautiful book which has thus far not entered into my library but soon shall! thanks for sharing

  • Hello:

No. The 2nd edition (King Solomon) edition of the 1928 edition had no loose plates.

Page IX or 9 lists all the color plates which are the Knapp chapter illustrations. The list of color plates also list to large foldouts. "THE BEMBINE TABLET OF ISIS" & "GRAND ROSICRUCIAN ALCHEMICAL FORMULA" . Neither are by Knapp and could have come loose in an original edition. If not some one could have placed the loose plates in the book feeling that they relate to the subject.

  • thanks for posting. Regardless of cryptograms, it's a fascinating book!

I have looked at the newer edition at Chapters many times,

that would be amazing to have the larger format. So as i understand the 72 version is a facsimilie of the 1928, but with Black and white photos? peace

  • @oatstao

Yes the 1972 version is a facsimilie of the 1928 version. I've never seen the 1928 version. Wish I could. I've only heard that some of the pictures were in color in the original, I'm assuming the large ones at the beginning of each chapter. I believe it is best to get the 1972 version if one can't get the 1928 version. And then the 2003 version is another good one. There is now also a 2007 version but it doesn't have any of the large pictures at all and most pictures are missing.

  • I used to have the diamond jubilee edition I think it was called. The Reader's edition is convenient but takes away some of the charm lol. Everyone need to search for and listen to entire series called 'Mystery Babylon' by William Cooper to properly understand the mysteries and their ongoing "Great Work"

  • There is a picture I have in his book The Lost Keys of Freemasonry. It is a picture of a winged Egyptian sitting on a like cresent moon. The egyptian has his palms open facing out with a star under his right elbow. It is on the chapter page Freemasonry of the Ancient Egyptians. Can somone please tell me what that picture means or what it represents ?

  • @solas618 You should post the picture. Reading the book "An Encyclopedic Outline Of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy", which is the book referred to as The Secret Teachings of All Ages. It may take you time to be able to interpret the symbol but it will be worth it. Besides you'll learn more on the way. Explaining some of these symbols publicly is frowned on ( and that assumes the interpretation is correct. It might not be).

  • @Bodletrille I guess that is what I will have to do for now I absolutley overlooked the fact that I might be asking for an esoteric explanation on line. Hopefully one day I will have the time and resources to get my answer.

  • The original editions of this title are approx. 19" by 13". I am in possession of a photocopy of the 1928 edition. So I wonder about your two copies. Is the type used the same BECAUSE if not it would seem that the original cryptograms in the book may not be in them. You may notice variations in the text. This was intentional.

Somewhere on the web there is a guy who says that he spent 8 years retyping the book from an original. THEREFORE HE SPENT 8 YEARS DESTROYING THE MESSAGES CONCEALED.

  • @Bodletrille My 1972 book is the same type as in the 1928 book, but it is much smaller. It says: "Eighteenth Edition Reduced facsimile of the first edition." To the best of my knowledge and belief it has everything that the 1928 edition has, but the pictures are in black & white instead of color and the text is much smaller. The 2003 version has totally different text font and is missing some of the images, but the large images are included at the center in color. Thanks for your comment.

  • My copy is a photo copy on 11x17" paper. Reduced from the 19x13" original. It is the 1928 edition second printing. It contains the names of all the "Subscribers" of that edition with the original owners name and it's number. The list includes the Vatican Library! This work was not compiled to be some cool book to read and own. It has a purpose which is to show the reader how to achieve the spiritual level that organized religion robs us of. Try re reading it with that in mind.

  • @Bodletrille Does your photocopied version of the Subscription Edition contain two loose plates? The only Subscription Edition I have studied had 2 loose plates that I have not seen in any of the other editions (4th, 5th, etc...) I have studied. Both were commissioned by Hall, but from a different artist than J A Knapp. They represent the secret of the ages, and if you know about them then the whole book takes on a deeper meaning (all his work is trying to share these secrets).

  • @wilburdewey The real test for the two loose plates that you mentioned,is whether they are listed in the "list of color plates" on page IX . Or in the "list of illustrations in the text, pages XI and XII. THERE IS NO PAGE X (page 10). Hall was if nothing else thorough. I can't imagine that there would be loose plates that did not come loose from the book that are not listed. I would like to know the titles of the plates you mentioned. The original I had copied had no loose plates.

  • @Bodletrille The two plates were dated 1926 and were commissioned by Mr Hall (1/2 the test). Mihran K. Serailian painted both 'The Opening of the Third Eye', and 'The Seven Spinal Chakras' with 1926 as copyrights (in Hall's name - other 1/2 of test). They may have been purchased at the same time and hence included, or, considering these are the most overt revelations of the secret of the ages maybe they were included at the end as the key that open up the occulted messages upon second reading.

  • @wilburdewey Both are available for purchase from the Philosophical Research Society on the same webpage as all of J A Knapp's paintings Hall commissioned for the book. If you know the etymology of Rosicrucian and the facts of these paintings, then all of Hall's works become far deeper. Although he first hints at this truth in 1921's Lost Keys of F/M, only if you know the truth about 'Rosicrucian' will it make sense. Expounded upon in 1931's MAN: Grand Symbol of the Mysteries. Dan Brown knew

  • @wilburdewey Thanks for the reference. I looked up the imfo and found the plates at PRS. These are definitely not part of the book by Hall. But as I said earlier someone probably placed the plates in the book you saw because they are related to the subject (to say the least !). I actually just finished rereading the entire work. I consider the Hiramic legend to be one of the most significant chapters. But they are all saying the same thing in a different way. Thanks again.

  • @Bodletrille Maybe they were included in the Subscription Edition but no others and the one you copied are still held by the original owner? They were the same size as Knapp's plates, (19X13), but also had thin sheets to protect them in the back which makes them appear to have been included at purchase. The plates might not 'be part' of Hall's book, but only by knowing those plates can one truly comprehend his message. Prob most important book between the wars preserving info for posterity.

  • @wilburdewey If you saw any loose plates in an original, they should be listed in either, the list called "Color Plates" on page IX, or in the list called "illustrations in the Text" on pages XI and XII. THERE IS NO PAGE X otherwise known as page 10. If they are not listed I doubt they were part of the book. Probably placed in the book you saw by someone that felt those plates relate to the subject. I would be interested in seeing them or knowing the titles of the plates.

    Peace.

  • @Bodletrille I don't know about any cryptograms. I just enjoy owning the books!

  • There is an chapter on cryptograms. How anyone can see this and not realize that the work is itself encrypted is beyond me. The variations in text should be obvious to any reader and were masterfully designed. It is possible that the type is different in your 72 version but it should not be. Try looking at the text more carefully and what I'm saying should be obvious. More than that I can't (won't) say. As the saying goes "Silence Is Golden".

  • @Bodletrille I'm interested in cryptograms. Would you like to share more?

  • Very cool found the resource online, am disecting the info.

(some of it is... off the mark haha, but very informative!)

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  • @KingAtlas4200 You're welcome!! Just take what you think is interesting and anything "off the mark" ignore if you wish. I don't necessarily believe everything in there, but find it interesting for sure.

Somebody has the book read by a robot sounding "person" somewhere here on YouTube. I saved the first part on my Manly P Hall playlist.

    :-)

  • @KingAtlas4200

I've included the online resource that I know about in my description. Forgot to do that before. You reminded me. :-)

  • I'm reading this book right now. Its wonderful.

  • @LoveKnowledge500

    Yes, it is, isn't it?!!?

    Enjoy reading it!!

  • I've been wanting to order this book. In fact, it has now moved up from the bottom of my book list to the top of it. Thanks to you.

  • @ChapmanGriffith

    Cool... It's GREAT!

  • I have the readers edition, its an excellent encyclopedia.

  • @PageTurner600

Yes, it's very cool. But I still love the black and white version as well.

    :-)

  • Unblievable, an eye opener !!!

I wish I had seen those before deciding on which copy to buy.

Please google "HAS ANYONE" + "Logos666" and comment on that thread. Thanks !

  • I have to golden anniversary book it is amazing all the information it contains but it is a fraction of occult knowledge.

  • I know, but one should remember that it was written in the 1920s. Do you know of a book (or books) with all occult knowledge?

  • i used to have the book until i lent it to someone,i had the new version,my question is if there is a difference between the editions?

  • All the text is the same on both editions. The one from the 70s has tiny print; the newer one has larger print. As far as I can see, all the images are in both as well, except the color images in the center of the new one are in black and white and are placed throughout the older one in front of the chapters. There might be several other differences as well. I love having the old one because it is more like the original from the 1920s. I love having the newer one 'cause it's easier to read.

  • .... Plus the newer one has the large pictures in color!

  • there is a little difference. Ok on your question angelstar google rare occult books there are many good truthful books out there. There are online bookstores that specialize in rare occult book. Rocrusian books are the best but they all have great knowlege in them.

  • It would be cool to see the pages for longer and hear what's written below. This is great though, thanks!

  • I just listed this because I think the book is interesting. Look at my description to see where it can be purchased and then you can read the book yourself. :-)

  • PS. You're welcome!
