  • I was pleasantly surprised to hear this very well-molded Ninth by Maestro Dudamel. I'll be frank and say I've been slow to laud Dudamel, but honestly, this is great. It shows room for improvement, but it still is in all its essence, how I believe the Ninth should be played. The only little comment I would make is that Dudamel sometimes has very elaborate gestures, but other that its a solid performance from an already great conductor.

  • damn beautiful

  • Not bad, but it's a bit dim sounding? Holy smokes, the ending is almost as fast as Furtwängler's versions. This version isn't outstanding to me, but I get the feeling his future Beethoven No. 9 versions will be as good as Toscanini's, Karajan's, Furtwängler's, Böhm's etc.

  • towards the end i feel my soul coming out of my body

  • Will this ever be telecast or available on DVD?

  • Wellp that was pretty much the most amazing thing ever

  • 26mins and 35 seconds of mayhem!

    Gratias Beethoven! Long live Dudamel.

  • The ending to this is so epic...

  • 2:45 == gold! I really like that tempo!

  • I love the 3:55 part to the sopranos

  • Dudamel... eres genial

  • I love the sound of the timpani!

  • @pkrnger

    There's not much that sounds better than a good timpani, and there's not much that sounds worse than a bad timpani (my high school's).
