Even though the entering flue got thin enough to (almost) see through, as did the outermost volumes of the starch cloud, the stuff seemed to remain separate from the water. How long did it take after immersion for the water to wet the cornstarch solution?

Apparently there is a bit of confusion, first... by definition, a 'cornstarch solution' us already 'whetted'.  What needs to be understood, is that the cornstarch will not readily solubalize, it maintains its separate identity in the fluid as particles, so although it seems to 'act' like a fluid, it is not going to become part of the actual solution for a significant amount of time. I want to see this done, while purturbating the fluid with ultrasonics!

Me thinks you have misunderstood. The camera it-self is a highspeed camera, recording footage using well in excess of 2000 frams per second as opposed to a normal camera, which only records at 25 frames per second.

And obviously with the more frames in each second, the slower and more detailed the footage =)
