I have listened to 'The Edge of Time', 'Nightfall in Middle Earth' and 'A Night At The Opera', and summarizing from what I have heard, Blind Guardian is the best power metal band along with Kamelot. Haven't heard a lot of power metal, though.

Kick ass? I've never been much into the dragonlace saga, but this as a soudtrack would kick ass, spine, legs and pretty much anything else attached to it.

Man, the part with "and from the flames..." sung when Raistlin emerges from a blaze of fire...

@Mindlabytinth To me this is perfect for the book Soulforge. It really does bring out what the book was about. I like to picture the part in the Twins trilogy where Raistlin conjures this massive fire on a village hit by the plague to "show the gods." Probably the most epic scene that needs to be created. Flames of "all colors and of none" basically.

I think the live version is weaker then the album version, sometimes you can replace the huge choirs and sometimes you can't and I think this song is one of those were it's just better with the choirs.

That's not very usual with blind Guardian. Most of their fans would tell you that most of their songs live sound better than their studio counterparts, sans the ANATO stuff of course (to which this song also belongs), it's close to impossible to recreate the thousand Hansis in real time.

first of all blind guardian is able to compose great masterpieces.. as a classical music fan ,for me bg's music is much more worth than other bands.. but that s really right that they need a high quality choir in live performances.. i hope bg will start composing more neo-classical metal like music, with a real classical music orchestra..
