I just discovered about them, and I think this song is extraordinary. Can't quite believe how they didn't make it to the top but I guess this goes straight into my favourites and hopefully one of their albums straight in my cd collection
listen to Wallace Collection - Day Dream from 1969 to hear the original composition that Portishead, Tricky, Beta Band, I Monster, and Lupe Fiasco have all "borrowed"
Every time I take a plane trip during the day, and look down at the patchwork of land borders I start thinking to myself... "still nobody cares, for miles and miles of squares".

Nothing in this video is even remotely similar to the first moon landing.
At 0:10 they take off in a space shuttle (first flight 1981) completely different then the space craft used in the first moon landing (1969). At 0:15 the date on their patches is 2001. In the video, four of them are walking on the moon but in the first moon landing it was only two. I could keep going but you get the point.
It's just a music video not a conspiracy theory douchebag. Go back to school.
Why would they put 1969 on their patches and only have two in the video you twat? They don't have to be that dull and direct. It is just a music video, a tongue in cheek music video based on the idea that the moon landing was a hoax, the astronauts put in a simulator and dumped out on a set.. just like the video. What's to argue?.. it's a joke.
it's the scottish flag with the portsmouth crest for richard greentree. But anyway, did they really think the NASA would send them into space, they looked quite shocked when they found out it wasn't real
not true... they both sampled this... "Daydream" or "Day Dream In Blue" is a song originally recorded in 1968 by the Belgian band Wallace Collection. It was composed by band members Sylvain Vanholme and Raymond Vincent, with David MacKay[1] who also produced the single.[2]
Here because of Pitch Black Heist by Maclean with M. Fassbender. Didn't know them, very good band.

Btw, isn't the plot of this video better than Apollo 18?

I had no idea that Lupe Fiasco snatched this sample from Beta Band for Daydream!

I LOVE GNOOSIC. I've found so many incredible bands (including Beta Band) with gnoosic, if you don't know what it is google it.

Discovered this band through the magazine CMJ which came with a CD of the best unheard music. All from an era when the music still mattered.

@thisisrlynotmyname Portishead and Tricky actually sampled a somewhat similar-sounding Isaac Hayes song.
hot4warcriminals 5 months ago
@hot4warcriminals and Hayes took that chord progression from Day Dream

Same sample as Lupe Fiasco - Daydreamin'
