There actually is a Moonlight Drive in Delray Beach, Florida. Drove down it once in my old '87 Camaro, dead drunk at about 1 AM with this song CRANKED on the cassette deck. That was almost 20 years ago now. Strange Days indeed.....quite peculiar Momma.... :-)

In Delray Beach, Florida, there's actually a street called Moonlight Drive. Drove down it once and back at around 2 AM, dead drunk, in my '87 Camaro with this song cranked all the way on the tape deck.  That was in '92, I think. Wild night.

They are 21 and 18 respectively and are thoroughly versed in the Doors, the Byrds, Jimi, Janis, the Jefferson Airplane and other fundamentals. When in elementary school my son did presentations on Hendrix and Otis. Their generation of music is also good and I've learned to like some of it. And we share a love for a lot of 80s stuff too

@wbaranful I listen to the Doors almost every day because it keeps me close to my Dad. I miss the old man but he is now in a better place. My Dad was also a huge fan of Jackie Wilson, Otis Reading, Sam Cook, Wilson Picket and James Brown. He also like Junior Walker, and little Little Anthony and the imperials. His second faverit bad to the Doors was the Eric Burton and The Animals and the Mama and the Pop's.

@Captb55806 It's funny because I am the dad in my scenario, the old guy. I grew up in the 50s and 60s. I loved Sam Cooke, Wilson Picket, James Brown and Otis Redding. I went to LSU and in 1966 my fraternity actually had Otis Redding play at our formal. If you love the Doors you can stream 2 great Doors documentaries on Netflix. One documents the recording of their first LP & the other the birth, life and death of the Doors in original film footage

@wbaranful thanks for the infomation. I kind of try to avoid watching documentaries because they do not always tell the truth. There is an old saying there are two sides of the story then there is the truth. There has been too many sides of the story of Jim Moorison's life on and you do not know who is telling the truth. For example one of his ex girl firends clam that his manger or agent puproley got him hook in drugs so he can still his money. You can guess but never know the truth.

I don't think there's any mysteries about the Doors or Morrison. He was just a wild and crazy guy who was very talented. He was the archetypal rebel against his parents' generation and specifically against his military dad. Both documentaries are great and don't claim to reveal secrets
