1991 Jetta GTD

I inherited a 1991 red turbo diesel totally stock, 200 000 kms and damn close to mint. Rust checked, dealer maintained, garage kept and original paint. This car is unreal. My father took the absolute best care of it. I dont even want to drive it, I just want to look at it lol

I have a T3 as well with a 8 mm piston pump with a modified LDA needle,GTD nozzles and intercooler. Just have to put it on soon,waiting for a couple of things im missing. (Boost controller etc.)

Unfortunately this car is dead, was written off thanks to an old lady hell bent on getting to bingo. However, I am building a jetta coupe with a 1993 passat 1.9TD, with my garrett T3 from this car, an AWIC, fully rebuilt engine with headstuds, baffle pan, new everything, Giles super pump, properly calibrated injectors, my same 2.5inch straight pipe from this car and probably going to try 25psi on this as well hehe. Its almost running.

lets see, blocked off the BOV, added a manual boost controller to get it to 25psi. Stock engine, no headstuds.

At the time this video was taken the car was stock except for the things listed in the descripction. Turbo is a Garrett T3 and i had a FMIC, pump was stock with the exception for a few tweaks here and there.

no BOV installed, infact i had the stock BOV blocked off as it isn't needed. The sound is just the turbo spooling down. Not compressor surge but im sure my turbo was showing its age. Still ran like a dream.

i dont think they had BOV's stock anyway, because diesels dont have throttle plates, unless a previous owner put it on there.

they have a pressure relief valve thats built right into the intake manifold. just vents air back into the intake if it reaches a certain psi.

Who cares about the age! The sound of it spooling at Idle is amazing, and then when it takes off..... I'm personally working on a 1.9TD (aaz) and Can't wait for that sound. Awesome car :D
